Road Trip Meltdown
Glad I’m not watching any of this. Losses piling up. San Diego, on the other hand, is wonderful.
Our 1 good starter goes today.
Make it so.

I feel like every Webb start is a must win the rest of the year!
Before 8th stakes race at DM, FD handed mics to those in crowd for their picks as they were walking around, and wow the women were fantastic.
Couple wins each for Joe Bravo Hector Berrios and Mike Smith. Juan Hernandez back riding today, should be great.
Another less than great day for Giants at plate and Wood becoming less interesting as starter, but AZ Phils and Marlins all lost too.
Definitely need another starter arm
The Dodgers are making a mockery of the Rangers this weekend. The Rangers look worthless.
wow Mike Smith goes from Del Mar to Jersey and wins Haskell with 12-1 shot Geaux Rocket Ride.
I’m so sick of him.
Gotta give him credit though.
Miracle that he wasn’t killed in an accident at Saratoga decades ago…
hmmnn. Doesn’t get that many mounts at SA or DM but usually has pretty good pct in $$
Pavs said Giants activated Luke Jackson and DFA’d Llovera.
Starting pitching will be hard to acquire. In our own division, the Bums need starting pitching. We’ll also be competing with the Snakes, whom need help. They have the young players to get what they want.
Another wasted opportunity…
yeah. Twice in a row Giants get man on 2b no outs and he never moves.
A lot of pitches already for Webb and zero outs.
We need how many pitchers? I kid . . . I kid.
No reliable starters.
toast
burnt toast
Yep. Too many guys hurt and the pitching is gone.
“Ladies and gentlemen, we have begun our descent. Please turn off all portable electronic devices and stow them until we have arrived at the gate. In preparation for landing, be certain your seat back is straight up and your seat belt is fastened.”
Good night.
Sandawg and I are stuck at this abomination.
Damn . . . Sorry to hear that Mac. Well, a mini Flap Fest is still bitchin’ . . . Say hello to Peter!
You can still have plenty of fun when you get out of there.
Single digit tickets?
WTF was Kapp watching?!
He didn’t even get anybody up until Webb was beyond out of gas. Pen is tested. Idiot
Rested
10 days to the trade deadline. At this rate, the Giants could be peddling rentals — Joc, Davis, Slater, Wade, Yaz, of course long term Bart Villar Heliot. Joc and Davis actually look marketable.
Well this didn’t take long to get Blown Out!!6-
Ballgame!! Had Gray on the ropes in the first &second and they fizzled with their anemic attack..
Great now useless Manaea for more garbage mop up duties..
No Starters is killing this team! Webb and we’re dead 💀 and now the innings are catching up to him, most in MLB sure showed up tonight..
Put Webb on the IL for a skipped start or two, the guy is burnt out
I agree!!
Never liked DC. Good friend grew up there. His father was a journo prominent enough to have regular dinners at the White House. Friend got the fuck out of there. I visited as a kid and often later for work. Woke up one summer morning at dawn to get breakfast and the temp was already high and visibility was zero due to what i guess they call fog. Shorts and t and it was bad. And I had to walk back to the hotel and put on my suit. I realize it’s only a bit over 80 degrees there now, at 8.30, but I bet it feels horrible.
Have you downsized to one black suit yet?
(For any occasion – happy, sad, in between)
I understand it’s very liberating…
I have ZERO…
big deal. My tailor tried to sell me a final retirement suit with a comic label inside the jacket that says “for weddings and funerals.” It was the pandemic time. He was desperate. These days I spend my fashion curiosity chasing the perfect t shirt. For a brief moment decades ago j peterman sold one. Then it was gone; they skimped and shortly thereafter went BK. I want one, in black and in white, that I can wear with shorts and flip flops, black jeans, or custom suits. Any suggestions?

The Jockey. Well,to each his own.
I didn’t go up to DC for this series, but every time that I have in the past, we lost every game. But each of those years we won the World Series. Just sayin.
Down 10-1, Jon Miller must feel like he should have stayed “on assignment”…
Flem needs to STFU ,down 10-1 he’s still saying a couple balls here and there that goes through and this could be a different ballgame. Yeah Right Dave and if my Aunt had balls she would be my uncle..
And if my grandma had wheels, she’d be a bicycle…

I prefer this, but it’s not dinner wear. https://www.zazzle.com/property_is_theft_t_shirt-235178356438614282
I just might buy that one. Loved that radio station back in the day.
Yeah, kfux and107.7 the bone had precursors.
Obviously all teams have ups and downs during a season, but this one feels a little weirder. Only have to read the Flap to see that: for about a week or 2, we’re all nearly giddy with this team as it wins 6 or 8 in a row and climbs in the standings; and then for the next week or 2, we’re all gnashing our teeth as they lose 4 or 6 in a row again. Looking forward to seeing what Z does in the next week or so to bring someone(s) in to possibly get us over the top….
Willie, yes football (soccer) is of course very big here; during tournament times, I always say I’m rooting for VN, but deep inside I always hope they lose, because if they win (even just a single game), the locals take to their motobikes and ride around making noise until 4am. People were/are excited about the women’s team in the Cup now, but expectations are low; they’re just happy to be there. Men’s side is much more serious.
Amazingly still tied for the top wild card spot.
Mike Ivie died
I remember McCovey telling a reporter, he isn’t a phenom. Or so the reporter reported. Strange struggle to witness as a new Giants fan.
Still remember his pinch hit grand slam against Don Sutton and the bums.
Later that season, August, I attended my first bums Giants game at Candlestick. He came up with the bases loaded. Sellout crowd went wild. He whiffed. This Giants fan gig may be a tough one, I thought.
Still giddy. Just my take, but they are doing very good on this road trip (5-4) . . . Two more games to go, tomorrow with the Nats and the make up game at Detroit. They could lose both and I still say that’s pretty good for an exhausting road trip.
Loo, no single digit tix this time. I think that was a Mets special.
Read a tongue-in-cheek article about “The 20 likely places Ohtani could land”… haha, pretty funny, considering we are constantly being served with experts’ guesses on upcoming trades, most of which of course are silly. Just read something that sounds more serious: Giants considering trading for Verlander. Who knows.
Yeah lot of noise there, idea being Mets wouldn’t want much back to save $$ he’s due. Giants as Xoot said could be selling off couple guys to get who they want or open up spot somewhere.
Keeping an eye on those Padres too, who are beginning to close some ground with WC teams. Phils Marlins and AZ all on losing streaks w SF.
