Fox did us a favor by muting walk up music today. Every Giant apparently used a Taylor Swift song, all curated by the father of several girls Brandon Crawford. (SF Giants Twitter) out of curiosity, I listened to a Swift song yesterday. Dull. But her voice is more interesting than I expected–some character, texture. Not that she’s Rhiannon Giddens. Or walk up worthy.
She can write and sing. Over a whole album, the well-crafted melodies and lyrics start to get tedious because nothing ever really stands out. I’ll bet Zumie might not mind the two folky albums she put out before Midnights.
Went to my favorite bar here in the OBX, I’m wearing a SF cap (sporting the grey/orange letters/black bill cap) and the lady behind the bar starts going nuts because her longtime family friend just signed with us. Ty Hanchey, you have some fans on the Outer Banks, dats fer sure.
