A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Expect Very Little Today

When Farhan got hired the writers asked him to describe his style. He said “no move is too small.” I’d counter that by saying “some moves aren’t big enough.” Zaidi has to appreciate the optics of this incredibly lame Pollack pick up. With other teams making bold moves all around MLB he simply can’t do a deal like this and expect to not get absolutely slammed. Especially if this is all he does. Saw a tweet today from someone that made a good point:

Oh that long out to the wall by Pollock is enough to make you believe in the evil baseball demigods.

Yeah, that was pretty fucking cruel.

Fucking Kruk watches Sabol go to the mound and says Bailey goes out to the mound.

Cobb gives us an old fashioned quality start.

The Matos AB did it. Hung in there, raised the count, ripped one to the gap. Wore Gallen out at the tail end of his night. Mistake to Crawford. And we’re tied.

Amazing LD HR from Wade. Beautiful.

a’s fans mounted a noticeable sell the team chant at Chavez Latrine in the 5th. I didn’t see any second tier tv stars behind the plate wearing sell t-shirts.

I never thought I’d be excited by a defense first catcher.

    • zumiee's avatar zumiee said, on August 1, 2023 at 8:46 pm

He’s the Gold Glove catcher in the NL, although a rookie probably wouldn’t win it.

It’s a baseball injustice that Belt never got a Gold Glove.

What a way to end a game. Manaea w save, walker the W in relief of Cobb.

  24. Macdog's avatar Macdog said, on August 1, 2023 at 9:08 pm

Who gets the save, Bailey or Manaea?

  25. djloo27's avatar djloo27 said, on August 1, 2023 at 9:08 pm

  26. xoot's avatar xoot said, on August 1, 2023 at 9:08 pm

Wild ass day, but a game like this smooths things out. Even Palooka looked serviceable in LF and at the plate. Well, maybe I’m stretching there. Is Sabol’s hand seriously hurt? Otherwise, great win against a very good team.

Tremendous team W. 3 run rally knocks AS Gallen out the game, Giants smoke HR off DBax pen and Bailey puts their lights out.

Crazy stat. Atlanta’s SP Strider got 200th K in 123 innings. Fastest ever.
2nd fastest was Strider last year at 130 IP.
3rd fastest ever was Randy Johnson in 2001 at 130.2 IP. I had no idea He was THAT good..
    Glad we won!
