Heard Kyle’s dad’s interview interview today on KNBR. Really interesting. Obviously a very smart guy, talks a lot like Kap with that boardroom-speak. He’s WAY involved in this man, at one point Murph said “as a guy who’s seen every pitch your son has ever thrown….” and I didn’t hear if that was confirmed but if that’s true, WOW.
One interesting tidbit: his dad attributed his wildness in the minors to the auto strike caller. He said Kyle’s shit is just too electric for it to track. LOL. This could be something very exciting to watch.
To say I’m rooting for this local kid to succeed is an understatement.

I think it was Xoot who said the Giants should start Matos and Ramos everyday regardless of whether the starting pitcher is lefty or righty. I agree. I’m so tired of seeing older journeymen like Pederson and Slater. And Meckler needs to go back to Sac-town.

Harrison’s start is going to be exciting, hopefully he can get over the 1st game jitters and the home plate umpire is just somewhat consistent with the zone for him, 1st inning will be the key, if he gets thru that unscathed he should settle in nicely..
I’m still thinking about Baggarly’s opinion that lefty righty matchups, taken to the mechanical extreme, asymmetrically train hitters. Never facing RHs or LHs warps a player into being very weak vs RHs or LHs. There’s something there.

Camargo is a consistent rally-killer. Even when he got hit by a pitch to keep a rally going, he got doubled off of second base on a line-drive to first, in the ninth inning.

Looked up Lincecum debut game (ouch of start to ML career) and 2007 season, 71-91. that was it for Bonds, who had OPS over 1.000 in last year at age 42. Winn hit .300 but otherwise offense was one of worst in NL, pitching 5th best ERA. Cain lost 16 games with ERA of 3.65.
Barry could’ve finished his career with a few good years in the AL. The colluders should’ve been indicted, not Barry.

totally fine with that debut. He is as advertised. He looks great on the mound too, good presence. He just needs to work with the coaches and pitch more.
Fastball looks great. Slider has to be out of the zone, either down and away to LHs (who had lot more success than RHs) or at back foot and down and away to RHs. Still 2-1 game.
