Our Man Takes The Mound
Dirty Harry Day. He should make short work of these Rox. Still on a pitch count but i bet he fans at least 8. And wouldn’t it be the ultimate burn if our old friend Ty Blach came into San Francisco and taught us a lesson about overconfidence.
I seriously don’t get why Andy Reid went for it when it was 4th and 25 with 2:09 left with 3 time outs and the 2 min warning. Why do that? Why not kick, use your timeouts and then force a punt and start over with 1:20 or so left. He’s Mahomes, he can do anything. But 4th and 25 with no Kelce and The Terrible Toney wandering the playing field just seemed like a foolish move.
Yeah, really dumb move there by Reid. Deetroit’s offensive play calling was pretty bad, but they pulled it out with their D and wore down KC’s D line. And KC dropped a lot of passes. The Deetroit fake punt on their own 25 was very ballsy.
Not only KC going for it made zero sense, the Lions going for it the possession before that and failing and essentially giving KC easy field to kick a FG also made little sense. But Lions D held their forums or at least Toney gave it away.
That was awful play calling there by Deetroit. Reid’s 3rd down jet sweep 3 yard loss was pretty bad as well with everyone on the line.
Well I guess when it was originally 4th and 20 Andy wanted more spacing on the field for Mahomes to throw to “Spaced out Toney”thus the added 5 yards.Yeah I was like wtf are you doing? 3TO’s plus the 2 minute warning so really 4 so stupid not to punt! Then it showed how little he trusted his D without Chris Jones.
Just some weird stuff going on in this game, but that Coach Campbell man does he have a set of “Harry Balls” going for it on that 4th down and 2 opening drive deep on own side of field with that fake punt set the tone for the night that they were all in..
Direct snap-toss trick play seemed like one where Walrus outsmarted himself too.
Fun game to watch though.
really fun game to watch. And another cash-a-roonie ticket for Big Flavor. Having to sit on the sidelines with Covid has actually padded my bank account quite nicely.
You’re rolling.
Haven’t had Covid either (luckily only couple in 4 plex where I live that had it moved out early this year) but I did have bad spell of dizzyness (vertigo?) about 6 months ago. Couldn’t stand up to go use bathroom one morning, and just slept through most of the day, missing last b-ball game of our season. Took couple more days before I trusted myself to drive.
whoa! MD time, man. I’ve had a rollercoaster year of health issues. No need for details, but one of the lesser maladies has turned me into a collector of nice Panama hats. A 60s era Dylan wig, but grey, of course, isn’t out of the question.
Vertigo? I know Paul has had severe instances of vertigo. However, I don’t think that’s the case anymore (or, at least, the frequency of vertigo episodes has diminished). We were discussing them because approximately 5-6 months ago, I had vertigo one morning, where I didn’t fall, but I had to really concentrate on walking. I was fine while sitting down, but once I got up again, the episode would continue. Lasted all morning and part of early afternoon. I attribute it to not eating, coupled with taking an advil the night before (rare that I take any medication).
Anyone done Lasic/eye stuff? Kinda freaked out about doing it but my vision up close is akin to needing a goddamn microscope to read shit. My distance vision is OK otherwise.
I mean, how long does it last? I’ve heard of people getting it done 3x.
BE VERY, VERY CAREFUL UNCA! I have heard of many people committing suicide due to the surgery being screwed up by the physician, where the subsequent headaches are so bad, many folks have committed suicide.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6494939/Meteorologist-11-killed-complications-Lasik-eye-surgery.html
Well, that certainly doesn’t allay my fears that I already had.
You can get powerful reading glasses. LASIK seems pretty drastic for that. Used to be that most middle aged lawyers who didn’t use reading glasses in court or conference rooms were from LA. They usually had noticeable plastic surgery and dyed hair, too.
Early lasik clinic in SF, circa 2000, was downtown on Calif St. with an operating theater in the front window. I stood there one afternoon, cable cars and pedestrians passing behind me, and watched part of the procedure on some woman’s eyes, and decided, oh, no, not for me.
I’m at 325 already. Like I said, microscopes. Coke bottles.
I googled for proof: about 15 paragraphs into this article.
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/lasik-surgery-hidden-risks-and-regrets/
Well, see a good eye doctor who’s not peddling lasik
They’ve made advances since 2002. I hope.
Greg Pappa says so in the radio ads. And he’s credible, right?
Greg Papa . . . HAHAHAHA
Come on, man. There’s a diff between 2002 and Papa. I’ve worn glasses since I was 4. I had REALLY bad Marty Feldman eyes when I was a baby and they did an operation when I was 2 to stop them from flying around. I was pretty close to legally blind, but my extreme nearsightedness slowly got better over time. It actually got to the point where I didn’t need glasses, but now they are way out of whack the opposite way. So, now I have distance glasses, reading glasses, and sunglasses.
Half my day is looking for the right ones.
Well sounds like you know some eye doctors. I’ve used progressive lens glasses and sunglasses for a long time.
I was 2 60 years ago.
That and a year-long case of tinnitus are my main issues. Well, and a bum shoulder I’m putting off surgery for.
I’ve had tinnitus for 20 years. Usually I can ignore it, if I’m busy. If I’m not, I’m aware of it, or if someone reminds me I have it. Thanks a lot ! …

Those people should use chatgpt to rewrite that text. Their current robot’s a stiff. I’m sure lasik is fine. Hell, cataract surgery is simple these days. I’ll be looking at that sometime in the next decade.
Yeah Steve, actually my vertigo is now considered chronic, maybe never will go away. Docs blame long Covid, but who knows. It was so bad earlier this year I had 2 days of tests in the hospital. Finally kicked the worst of it with a steroid run. Still have bad dizzy days and others not so bad. Ugh. Willie, you’re lucky it went away after a couple days, it can be quite debilitating. Lasik, haha, I “tried” to have Lasik a few years ago but docs said my eyes were too old so it was too risky. When you’re too old for the cure, it’s time to start putting things in order……
Oh shit. Did I wait too long?
This team is an absolute fucking skidmark shitstain on the undershorts of life.
Thank God for football.
“When you’re too old for the cure, it’s time to start putting things in order……”
Don’t say that Paul. You’re still my “hero” (and probably, to others here as well).

Slater scratched from LU with “dizziness”; Thairo, with conjunctivitis. Joc day to day with obesity. Those kids are weaklings. Wait til they’re aged.
Cobb won’t pitch til Monday (sore hip that’s been bothering him for a while), Webb goes tomorrow. Be nice to go 7-3 next 10.
Wow.
Not a good start.
The gap double was hit hard but the others weren’t. Nice throw Joey. Looks like he still can’t track pop ups very well though.
Too bad they are playing here, as I would still bet on the Giants coming back if they were in Nepal.
I woudn’t
This team is a skid mark on the boxers of life.
Wrong way matos
Yeah, but once he did that, why wave him in?
K&K blame Matos instead of the 3b coach. That’s baloney.
100% on markie mark
Yeah, Mark Hallberg. I always forget his name.
There used to be a pro golfer Gary Hallberg.
Maybe this guy can stop guys at 3rd by holding up a 7 iron, then waive it around when they should run home…
No outs, runner got a bad jump, the outfielder has thrown out a lot of guys this season. Yeah, send the runner.
K&K chickened out in their broadcasting on that.
On the bases, in the OF, Matos continues to have trouble reading balls in front of him. It was to his left but theoretically catchable? No. And hell yes why send him after he screws up?
It was a grounder. He should have broken home. I don;t think the 2nd baseman woulda thrown to 3rd but who knows.
I just dropped in on this game.
From the look of the posts above, everything has gone just swell…
Blach is throwing bp shit and we can’t hit it.
We have Matos, we had Gonzalez, Dubon, and all these guys were fucking clueless on the bases.
Well there goes the quality start.
3-0 count is a rally. The hitting woes started last week. Kruk and Kuip are stretching their credibility with every scoreless inning that passes.
Wilmer!
Wilburrrrrrrrrr!
Well, I guess the Willie Mac award is pretty much decided.
Dinger time.
Just got on the see Wilmer homer! Was just about to post that we are at the nadir, being shut out by Ty Block!
I had lasik. best thing i ever did! No glasses 18 years later. No halos nor issues at all!
Go Giants!
Finally started teeing off on these meatballs.
DINGER time again.
And another! Blach has been serving up taters all night. We finally decided to hit them.
Boom boom boom.
Giants decided to join the Blach party with 3 bombs go figure?
Damn, what’d I miss?
3 straight Giants HRs!
Flores, DeJong, Davis, I think.
Oops, Chuck has the correct three.
Miraculous!
Matos walk, Flores, Haniger, and Davis with the back to back to back HRs
Shit. Bart’s having a little bad luck. he’s squared the last 2.
3 homers in the same week, let alone in a row. Go Giants!
2016 Span, Panik, Posey the last time!
Wow. That’s how you do it.
Mother fucking shit!!!!!!
Not a terrible pitch, but these 85 MPH sidearm deals just lay out there like beach balls.
One of the twins strikes again.
The Rogers Bros have worn out their welcome.
Oh wait its the other fucking Rogers. He vultures a loss for Junis.
They may go 0-22 to close the season.
The Pen overuse earlier in the season is coming home to roost, as almost everybody predicted…
Hey now. 4 HRs and they are still behind.
Good job, first base coach! lulz
“Heads-up play by the first base coach,” not sure I’ve ever heard that before.”
Serious question: Is Matos just young and dumb or does he have the permanent baseball intelligence of a seagull ?…
When the Giants get a double with no outs, they’re just so bad at “Get him over, get him in” small ball.
Double with no outs, where Giants rallies go to die.
Wow. That sucks.
That bad call to Matos did some real harm. Idiot ump.
Getting killed by this ump.
They got the lead!
Yeah, on ball 6.
One gd hit. Please.
Umps taketh and giveth
Sort of like a grand slam, but slowly with walks.
Keep on walkin’!
He was like Mitch Williams ‘Wild Thing.’
Or that. Buddy trusting the rook is a bit weird when he had already hit a guy and walked someone else.
“I’m walkin’, yes indeed, and I’m talkin'”
Rusty Doval and the pitch clock. Hope for the best.
And here we go with the rusty Doval.
This fucking ump.
Well, that was easy . . . jeeeebus.
A 9 run whew.
And for the first time in September … Victory!
WoW. Ump sucks. Finally a win!
Whew. Doval had good stuff but he piped two pitches — for that double and for Blackmon’s single. Guy’s edgy.
Been a while since Camilo had one of those.
Miller on radio was all over the ump, especially on K to Matos.
Then he let Rox pitcher have it for complaining about call he didn’t get on pitch well off plate.
A’s beat Jordan Montgomery and stumbling Texas 6-3. They’ve lost 4 in a row, 7 of 8 and 16 of last 20.
Electronic balls and strikes, please.
