Shifting Focus
Ok, thankfully this will be an NFL blog today. The Giants have fallen apart and there aren’t enough cartons of cigs that can fix how terrible they are. At least we have football to distract us from their season which has gone……up in smoke…..
Go Niners.
And a note about Colorado: it’s a fun story because they only won a single game last year and what Sanders has done is to be commended. But all this look-at-me stuff has a point of exhaustion and for me it’s nearly reached it. All this dude does is go on shows and high five with his bros and sell sunglasses. LOL. They are 3-0 but i am predicting a pretty big crash coming (though admittedly I haven’t checked their remaining schedule).
Fun story tho.
I did not stay up for the Colorado game but when was the last time Colorado State themselves had a game like this. So give Deion another prop that he can get other teams as fired up that they come out playing like world beaters. I would expect that Colorado defense will keep giving up big plays that they lose a couple times and their bowl game but Deion has his brought a ton of excitement to college ball that I usually have a gambling interest in.
When have the Giants ever played so poorly in a big Sept series in Colorado??? I would guess never. Blowing that first game really was a hit punch. They hold on there I would have expected at least a split yday. The fat lady is winding up…
Colorado St. had so many personal foul penalties it seemed like that was part of their strategy.
CSU disabled as many Buffaloes as they could.
Speaking of Colorado‘s schedule.
This Saturday they travel to Eugene. The Ducks are going to kick their ass. I’d say by 4 TDs at least. BTW, Deion‘s QB son is the real deal. Good field vision. Accurate. Good arm. Doesn’t wilt under pressure. First rounder…
Fortunately I missed the entire doubleheader debacle yesterday. The series up here of LA v Mariners on TV has been revealing to me. Watching the talent on both made me realize how I’ve underestimated how shitty and discombobulated and unwatchable the Giants really are. Guys like JD Davis, Conforto, Slater, Yaz would either be pine riders or not even on the roster of these teams. Mariners cut Haniger loose and don’t miss his ass at all. Julio Rodriguez is an absolute amazing player. A 22 year old 6‘3“ Adonis, with unbelievable talent. And we have — fuckin Meckler? …
I remember having a similar moment in seats near the field before a Sept 2009 game vs the bums. LA in BP and warmup looked like a group of true athletes. Giants had misshaped Bengie, Pablo, Eugenio, Freddy, Lincecum, Romo etc. Even Torres, athletic as he was, was small. That paranoid pessimistic flash stuck with me through the game as the bums went on to win. It finally vanished in a very healthy way over the course of 2010.
As Snarkk said, Deion has to go at Oregon and then hosts USC week after. Also goes at Utah at UCLA and at Wazzu plus hosting ranked Oregon State. Can always play the “Buffs were 1-11 card” from last year, so he can sail through whatever else happens, sunglasses intact.
Defense sure gives up lot of points. Shedeur is fun to watch though.
Shouldn’t have any trouble being able to attract more transfers in either, very important factor.
Also benefits that Big 12 will lose Texas and Oklahoma next season, and that outside of Utah the better Pac 12 teams will be in Big Ten.
i guess i just feel like Deion has blown his load. He’s played all the cards. He’s given all the speeches and it’s only week 3. More power to him if he can keep this going but it feels like, to me, he’s just selling sunglasses going forward.
Any streams working for NFL today, Flav?
Oh I’m sure you are right about crash coming, but any program would embrace all the national attention Colorado is getting, for recruiting alone.
Except, um, maybe Stanford, after losing the “guarantee” game to Sac State. This happens all the time in FBS football and D1 basketball, where the big school guarantees payout to smaller one for coming to town. Supposed to be guaranteed W too, but oops.
and Travis hunter will not play for at least a few weeks. Go Niners. Weird stat. Niners have a pick 6 in LA for 4 straight years. lets make it 5!
I keep losing MLB on Streameast. What was that reddit link, Flav?
I have all the NFL games + Red Zone on streameast.

This just popped up on the Related Posts thing.
Still trips me out to this day. It’s a small world after all . . .

Weird play in the Giants game. Ump called the third out on a bloop to LF and *then called Thairo out sliding into 3B. Four outs. Another ump said LFer trapped it. So Umps erased that mistake and used the superfluous call on Thairo as the third out.
The defensive lineman, Kamara, for Colorado St. had a strong game on national TV, and is on the NFL’s draft radar big-time now if he wasn’t before. Sanders is having an impact even beyond his own team.
That’s 3 deep passes Purdy has blown.
That’s 2 TDs that Purdy missed.
Purdy finally hit a deep one. He has to tighten THAT shit down.
Giants won?
Ahead 9-0, the Giants ended up winning 11-10.
Giants gave up 24 runs last 3 games. 9 different pitchers gave up at least 2 runs total.
Much needed day off before 2 games in AZ.
Dodgers btw swept 3 straight from Seattle in games they don’t really need, but M’s sure did.
Giants were up 9-0 and almost lost. 11-10 final. Doval was horrible in every way. Think he gave up 4. Beaned a guy. Three Giants errors helped Rockies too.
Well at least we finally won a game. Sweep of AZ a must. Seems unlikely but we are still breathing. barely.
SF won despite playing poorly. Good teams win when they are not at their best. Purdy’s 1st bad game as a Niner…
Purdy was fine as he didn’t turn the ball over as Stafford did. He missed 3 big plays, but did hit Jennings with a deep pass. That shit needs to improve for Brock.
All that being said, the Rams are for real. They have very solid lines on both sides of the ball. They had us on the ropes until Stafford Stafforded under pressure.
I wish we would have dialed up the blitzes earlier.
Marlins sweep the braves. WTH??
Cubs crushing it in the 2nd half except when they play AZ. Grr
yeah the team that looked so good/made the giants look bad will lose their 5th straight if they can’t come back against DBax. And the first 2 of those 5 Cubs have lost were against the Rox.
AZ would take #2 WC spot with W, and cubs/Marlins would be tied for #3, half game up on Reds and 2 up on Giants.
I’m telling you, none of these teams not named LA or ATL any better or worse than the others.
