Logan Webb makes $18 million a year. How much does your father make? You don’t know? Well, see if your father can’t pay the rent go ask Logan Webb and see what he tells you. Logan Webb don’t care about you, so why should you care about him? Nobody cares.

It’s been a while since you’ve delivered one of these. I had to look it up.

Loo, I caught the end of Duel after the last hoops game was done, that truck going over the cliff and the eerie aftermath is spectacular.

I wonder if there was a big debate about whether the truck should explode or not.

Especially with the word FLAMMABLE written on the back of it…

Yeah a little bit who knows what he did in the off-season. I never take much stock in ST but I can’t remember Marichal, Sanford, or Perry, having that tough of a spring.

What a steal from Philly for washed up Ruben Gomez and dreadful Valmy Thomas…

When he was pitching I always expected a win. Didn’t always happen but he was a great pitcher for us.

He looks like he’s 56 years old.

No. It’s time SPs use to get innings in, build up strength, work on different pitches etc. I’ve heard Kruk talk about “Arizona HRs” too, so air is different, no?

Same w regular every day hitters, getting enough ABs to feel comfortable. Isn’t this traditionally time hitters are ahead of pitchers anyway? You often see hitters have great month of April and then fall off.

Not really. Looks like he got a lot of GBs yesterday. Two solo HRs in the fifth, but, I agree: AZ.

      AZ hard IF singles, too.

It’s ST who gives a shit? Webb will probably go out and throw 5 innings of shutout ball in his debut and then everyone will say I guess he’s good and just working on new pitches like every other pitcher. If any pitcher the team needs to worry about it’s Snell, who’s had no ST and now will be on a pitch count early on to build up his arm strength, the pitching coach and others need to just not push him hard, they have to have him all year..

.Gawd StMarys looked like a bunch of white plodders against Who the fuck is Grand Canyon?Who we’re far faster and tons more athletic,Coach Bennett had no answers and looked frustrated as there tournament ends in a thud..

Same goes for Wisconsin as I had James Madison ( unbelievable quickness)easily handle those farm boys.I have JM knocking off Duke next game today..

GC beat San Diego State in December, in AZ putting up 79 on them and they were able to get game in tempo they wanted and use their athleticism and speed. SMC got nothing from Ducas and very little from Mahaney who looked way overmatched. He and Marciulonis combined for 9 turnovers, which blows up what Bennett is trying to do running his half court offense.

He does have top recruit coming in, 6-8 guy from Archbishop Riordan in SF. Riordan lost to Salesian in NorCal playoffs for right to play in Open Division State Finals and Riordan won WCAL regular season and CCS Open Division playoffs.

I’ve been thinking about this Ohtani mess and I have decided it is likely his buddy was betting for him. Think about it, how would a guy making, what? A couple hundred grand a year? be able to get a line of credit up to 4.5 million with an illegal bookmaker? That’s a credit line for a guy who makes 70 million a year not a guy making 200k a year. If MLB wants to get the truth, which I am certain they don’t want, then this story will get awfully muddy awfully quick.

    • snarkk's avatar snarkk said, on March 23, 2024 at 1:09 pm

That’s the most simple and direct explanation of what was going on. Anything else is much more complicated. MLB does not want to give a lifetime ban to Ohtani, so they, the Dodgers and his personal management are probably huddled somewhere coming up with “the story”. If the FBI gets involved, then it’ll get really dicey. Has the translator left for Japan, yet? He needs to get back and get lost in the mountains of Hokkaido for awhile…

Even the Andes and the huge Japanese community in Peru under an aka might not work these days.

Yeah, that was my point out there in the web-lands. Either Ohtani is paying his interpreter way too much or he’s fronting.

A little concerned, but it is just ST. Still, fresh in my memory is Webb getting lit up by the Nats last year with me, Sandog and his buddies in attendance at DC, had to be the worst start of his career.

Now some will worry about Harrison. I love ST games on tv except the lack of an in pic gun read out.

    • xoot's avatar xoot said, on March 23, 2024 at 1:57 pm

would you want that guy on your team for a year?

      • Flavor's avatar Flavor said, on March 23, 2024 at 2:10 pm

i want any legitimate rh power we can stockpile on the team. Who wouldn’t want JD Martinez DHing for us for a year? I mean, I’d rather have Soler but Martinez is a lot more power than the shit we trotted out last season

      • xoot's avatar xoot said, on March 23, 2024 at 2:42 pm

fair enough, on paper, but the guy is on the cusp of being old and washed up by his own admission and he’s afraid of a ballpark where he’s had only 83 ABs in 13 yrs? Afraid for good reason, I’d guess. He’s probably terrified of Pittsburgh too, where his ABs are 83 and his ops even lower. He clearly belongs elsewhere.

I think Snell’s decision to come here has a lot to do with the ball park. Pitching in Houston with all those walks he’d likely get lit up.

Rodon and Gasman used their time here to get monster deals. Rodon’s $162 million is looked at as one of the worst deals ever. Esp if he keeps up the shit pitching.
