A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Hicks Licks

Easily our best off season pick up. So far. With yesterday’s 3 stolen bags we have achieved balanced synergy. 25th in the league in bombs, 25th in the league in stolen bases. Konnichiwa.

Today I drive to Medford so will be out of pocket a little.

FYI Clark is winning the Masters.

OJ Simpson had died at age of 76 from cancer..

Should have died 30 years ago in that circus trial! “When the glove don’t fit you gotta acquit”

I’m going with Scottie Scheffler to win the Masters,Jason Day are Ludvig Aberg are my other choices..

I always hoped Fred Goldman would just machine gun him on a golf course…

Wasn’t paying much attention by time Law DF was in there, but what was warning about? Hicks had thrown behind a guy as fastball got away from him and Walker hit Nats 3b Lipscomb in 7th with Giants up 7-1, then I saw warnings being given out. What was Law doing?

“It wasn’t my best read” said Fitz after he got picked off but beat throw from Gallo for Giants first SB of year. And of course had another not so good read later in game as he was easy out trying to score from 2b. Nice game for him otherwise and maybe he opened Melvin’s eyes a bit.

He stole 3rd as well. Couple hits. Nice game.

Looks like the Feds are Dodger fans.

They’ve indicted Ohtani’s interpreter for stealing $16 million from him, and exonerated Ohtani from any wrongdoing. It will be interesting to see how Ohtani didn’t miss $16 million. Supposedly the former best friend “cooked the books”, so to speak…

Wonder what tributes they have planned for Chapman and Berkowitz? What a bunch of brain dead assholes…

It wasn’t a prepared statement. It looks like the press secretary’s spontaneous, clunky response to an unanticipated question.

well he’s no longer starting this year. I’d give his arm more life than his tenure at the Oakland E Coli.

I’ve heard about the Kardashians for decades. I guess they have a popular tv show. And I’ve seen Kim’s ass featured on magazine covers. But without the OJ murder trial, would anyone have noticed them?

    • unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck said, on April 11, 2024 at 6:18 pm

It all started with a sex tape.

And Robert Kardashian destroying the evidence . . .

      • xoot's avatar xoot said, on April 11, 2024 at 6:47 pm

I think it all started with kardashians connections to oj way back when they were privileged kids at usc. Recent report says K paid usc a huge amount to destroy evidence related to oj’s sexual assault and battery of two women students while he was winning a Heisman. He thought it would look bad during the 90s trial. Not the dumbest lawyer in the world.

We all know OJ committed the murders, BUT he was found not guilty in court. So according to our legal system, he had nothing to do with the murders. There are reasons why the NY Post is such a cruddy newspaper.

    • djloo27's avatar djloo27 said, on April 12, 2024 at 5:56 am

Yes the NY Post is a cruddy newspaper but WTF did they do wrong in this case? They accurately reported the idiotic, tone deaf, moronic statement made by the White House press secretary. And btw he was found responsible for the murders in civil court and was also a convicted felon in another case. Are you kicking in a few bucks for flowers?

The prosecutors botched the trial so badly that it’s probably taught about in law schools now.

I have to admit when I saw the hot-shot new rookie for the Orioles, I thought of the comedian Carot Top.

13 games down, 149 to go so too early to draw any definitive conclusions. But first two weeks disappointing and underwhelming. Initial returns suggest 2024 Giants resemble 2022/2023 versions – slow on base paths, anemic offense with glaring holes in lineup (Yaz, Slater, Estrada), inability for starters to string together more than 1 or 2 quality starts, etc. The malaise which has hovered over Oracle Park since 2017 (2021 season excluded) has not gone away.

I agree Snell should round into form and return of Cobb will solidify rotation. Also that Chapman, Soler and Lee need time to adjust and ratchet up OPS #’s.

But gotta admit Giants have already taken excitement of Opening Day and return of baseball down few notches by lackadaisical play so far. Would rather sink or swim with Luciano and Matos.
