Easy One
Now that’s how you start a home stand. No torture. Leading the league in innings pitched again, Webb is well on his way to winning the CY this year.

Giants played a good game last night, Webb and the pen were sharp, defense was solid. Wilmer is a stud and I don’t know why he’s not getting more playing time. They need to make some hay on this 10-game homestand and get this thing going in the right direction.
Apple TV takes over control of baseball programming tonight.
don’t forget the feature that allows you to listen to the giants radio announcers. Last time I used it the sync was great. Fun to hear Jon Miller’s radio level play calling while watching live video.
Mucho important. The ninnies on Apple TV are ludicrous.
Yep, looks like a night of streameast for me.
What was the coolest thing about seats behind the Lee club? Watching Rogers pitch. On TV, it looks impossible that major league hitters miss the crap he throws up there and inevitable when they crush one off of him (which of course happens far less often than it seems). Watching his pitches come in from a perspective that’s reasonably close to what a hitter sees, you wonder how any hitter ever makes solid contact. Judging where the ball is going to wind up when it reaches the plate just doesn’t look very easy, especially when you face him only once in any game.
Great observation James and thanks for sharing. And thanks for getting us the W last night!
Fuck Yeah!
Thanks, Lisle, I’m guessing you’re one of the few Flappers who might be sympathetic to any positive take on ‘ol Tyler, even when it’s couched as anthropological observation. 😄 I’ll bet there isn’t a single MLB hitter who’d say “Yeah, I really want to face that guy!”
You got me pegged J. I do like Tyler, and I like Taylor too. I mean, they aren’t my all-time favs but they are at least as good as some stiffs we’ve seen staggering through the pen over past years (eg. O’crap, O’shit & The Doughy Fuck). I especially like that the Giants united the brothers. That was a smart move, IMHO.
Webb reminds me of Matt Cain in pitching style and overall demeanor.
Yep, a workingman’s ballplayer.
It actually was exciting watching Jung Hoo Lee’s fan club behind the plate dancing with Lou Seal as well. The team was so boring almost a morgue setting to watch the last couple of years but the addition of Lee and I’m sure his followers will grow even more makes it more entertaining for sure! Doesn’t hurt to be on a 10 game hitting streak(up to .282 now) while still learning the league, different ball parks, pitchers etc! Just a great sign with his enthusiasm, energetic personality he brings…
Uh oh. Our old buddy Hensley Meulens, currently Rockies hitting coach, per story on SF Gate… “posted a video on Instagram showing himself in the cockpit (on United Airlines) flight on the Rockies flight from Denver to Toronto on April 10.” Apparently autopilot was engaged at time and plane was at cruising altitude but as you can guess this is a no no.
further, “In a since-deleted video, Meulens is seen sitting in the captain’s seat of the cockpit pointing over to the first officer…”
United statement: ”We’re deeply disturbed by what we saw in that video, which appears to show an unauthorized person in the flight deck at cruise altitude while the autopilot was engaged.” yikes
“The FAA confirmed the investigation to CNN…”
Said Meulins “the cockpit door blew off. I was just trying to fix it.”
“it was all Bam Bam’s fault,” the pilots’ union rep said. “We have already filed a grievance over the crew’s unfair suspensions. Those mlb Prima Donnas are the fucking worst.”
now this is an interesting evening news story: card table bartenders are mixing and selling cocktails outside Oracle Park this year. “License? License? You want to see my license? I don’t need any stinking license.”
I love watching De’Aaron Fox. If Kings can get by Pels the 1-8 matchup would feature 2 UK rising stars of Fox and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Not a good start for Apple TV plus when they showed the Giants starting LU with 2 catchers starting,Murphy&Fritzgerald ( obviously playing 2nd base)
but they’ll make up for it with the idiotic drone shots outside the park. You got the local radio feed? They make it hard to get to on a bottom button way over on the right.
Fitzgerald in cf. JH Lee may have partied hard with those well heeled fan club devotees.
Guess Lee’s 10 game hitting streak isn’t good enough to start against the lefty..
Soler moved up in the order? Inane. I mean, insane.
Slater and No Lee, fuck.
last night was old school Candlestick Park type of game. Not a packed stadium great hitting couple late runs…
That. Was a nice curve ball.
Also good to see other team’s players decide to hack based on the count. That 3-1 whiff was Soler-like.
leading off with Slater .105 and Murphy 6th at .100 ahead of Estrada is insane to me..
Shit. I miss Bart.
There’s nothing I hate more than when a player decides to suck horribly at exactly the thing you signed him for. I’m ready for the robot umpires and players.
Chuck, Well I just read Bart ( turning into Belt with bad luck) was catching in the bullpen during batting practice when a teammate hit a HR off his head and now is showing concussion symptoms! Dude just can’t ketch a break yikes 😳
oh no. that poor guy. I was actually looking forward to some ABs from him next week. I’m sure he was, too.
Shit. If it wasn’t for bad luck, he wouldn’t have any luck at all.
Oooooo that Snell. Giving in and giving up the run.
A home home run! Soler power on!
el Cubano wakes up.
murphy’s law
Jobu is waking up the voodoo spirits in Soler’s bat! Amazing what a cigar,Rum,and a bucket of KFC can do..
I’m already way tired of the he got off to a slow start last year, didn’t have a spring training this year bullshit.
That means we get to wait till June before he comes alive?
I’m skeptical he’ll even have an ERA much under 4 for the season.
derp.
oooo that Snell.
That Chevy ad uses the only Grand Funk Railroad song that I like.
The Jayhawks do a pretty redemptive version of “Bad Time.”
go get a corvette.
Nope.
whaddya think guys … should we move the fences in again?
Right behind the infield dirt should do it.
dats exactly what I was thinking!
Is it required to pitch and lose with this Snell dude as part of his delayed Spring Training? Meanwhile, scoring a few runs would be nice…
Meanwhile, the oppo pitcher Montgomery had no ST either, yet throwing his first real MLB tonite, pitched aces…
God forbid they give him a couple warmup starts in Sacto . . .
That got away in a hurry.
JH Lee would’ve tracked that drive down.
At least I got Lindor going for the Dodger series…
At least Apple picked a crappy game that I’m not missing, watching Mets-Bums instead, NY just 6-4 lead in 7th on 2-run HR by Loo’s favorite, Lindor.
Wheels officially off the Giants wagon in this one.
This one is a stinker…
I didn’t like this LU from the start it’s to early in the season to start your white flag players.
Wheels off, now the axles are breaking down…
to the giants credit, they haven’t used a position player as pitcher. Yet.
uh oh. Wade warming up?
Weeeeeeeeeee! James sure picked the right game to go to. What a difference a day makes.
Add the Mets as the latest team to roll out a hideous city connect jersey. Absolutely awful…
And Cohen shamelessly saying they’re “spectacular.”
Oh, goodie. We get Fitz and giggles. Let’s make it an even 20.
oh lard. Fitzgerald has utility after all.
I’m already looking forward to Snell’s bounce back year in 25.
The Giants never feel like a team – just a concoction…
I was talking to a baseball fan ? Dodger fan at work. I asked who is smarter? Az front office or SF? Our team let our Cy Young winner do spring training against major leaguers in games that count or a Az that waited a few weeks?
We have our answer…
Yep. They slow-roll the rookies all the time and rush Snellorama into action.
Giants have been out scored 25-2 in Snell’s home starts.
When lack of run support is completely immaterial, it’s called getting Snelled.
34-6 in his 3 starts.
According to Snell his sequencing is off. Once he gets his sequencing together, he is gonna sequence the shit out of sequencing. You just watch how those sequencing stats change here in the next sequence or two.
Ahhh, he’s throwing meatballs out of order. That’ll help.
