As I said on the last thread, I was prepared for Snell to have an *outie* year. But this has gotten ridiculous. In the post gamer he said he is usually better in the 2nd half because he’s gotten to know the hitters in the first half. What? He’s been pitching against most of these guys for years. And for the guys he doesn’t know there are these things called “scouting reports” that he can refer to. All he does is throw off speed shit anyway. Fucking nibbler. Sure the K’s are there but what’s it gotten him? Zero wins, 10.42 ERA.
He’s proving to be an outrageous bust.

We attended yesterday, Spencer Howard avenging Daulton Jeffries and all the other outcasts and discards. Fun game despite the lack of scoring. Matos with 3 near bombs. Just missed down each line and then a drive to left center that probably would have carried out under better conditions
Is anyone else concerned that Harrison is a hype because his fastball is merely average, his breaking pitches nothing special, and his control suspect? He could “develop” but he’s supposed to be something special based on his current stuff. He looks to me like he’s on track to have a Terry Mulholland-like career. I’ll be more than happy to have my suspicions proven wrong. Even in the very short run today.
At least he’s battling. If Snell pitched half as well, he’d have a couple wins.
I guess that’s what I’m saying, he’s going to be a “battler.”
Mulholland pitched for 11 teams over a 20 year career and is pretty much only remembered for one play…
Put Soler eclipse up there with Ooooh that Snell as abject fails.
Soler doesn’t offer much to the media, so it’s tough to tell how he feels about his sad, flat, but hardly abject, zero WAR. Snell is defiant and apparently determined to dig his season out of the hole it’s in. He’s more likely to improve, imo.

As worried about, Harrison with way too may pitches up and in the zone. Even the Philly announcer was saying the kid operates a lot high in the zone. Again with the HRs. 92 mph fastball mid-thigh high in the middle of the plate isn’t going to get it done, nor a lazy slider at 85 floating into the kill zone across the plate. He needs to really work on pitch placement and movement, and make that breaking ball less lazy. I’m still not seeing this kid as a phenom …
