A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Swoon

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on June 4, 2024

I haven’t looked it up but I don’t think we’ve had a lot of these June Swoon’s lately. I definitely remember it when I was a kid. Regardless, we are losing a lot of games right now. Had we not given away games early on (see: the Dalton Jefferies Era) a losing streak like this might not sting as much. But we did give those games away and the D-backs could pass us in the standings with a win tonight.

Either way we could be getting closer to it getting easier for BoMel to just start running our youngsters out there more often. That would take a little sting out of the return of Conforto and the underwhelming Slater and maybe Z can somehow unload Soler to someone unwitting.

my kid got home late sits down to see Soler come up to bat I guess in the 8th and says ground ball third base..and guess what…Soler likely the worst signing coming off his “career” year and Farhan got suckered.

Buyers or sellers? No matter what happens, we won’t be standing pat at the trading deadline.

Since lofty expectations don’t exist anymore it is nice just to see us play a solid game here and there. I agree with Flav about BoMel sending the kids out there would make things a lot more tolerable.

Looks like the kids are all in tonight against the lefty starter.

The best of the kids Heliot Ramos is leading off where he belongs are no lower then 3rd with his solid .295 average and OPS at .833(needs to get as many AB’s as possible in the LU)he’s proven now that he’s their best prospect with the most experience and needs to be in the heart of the order EVERYDAY!!You need to get this Melvin and not bat him 7-8 anymore, he hits the ball as hard as anyone on the team except for Soler eclipse but with better results!

      Thanks!

It’s a real interesting situation. This may be the one chance the WNBA has to break through permanently, and there’s lots of dynamics going on.

Like, who had ever even heard of Chennedy Carter, pronounced Kennedy (whatever), until she cheap-shotted Clark? The kind of cheap-shot that, if it happened in the NBA, would result directly in fisticuffs. The look on Clark’s face said it all: “what the bleep? I’m bringing this almost anonymous league into relevance, and you almost injured me with a stupid cheap-shot.”

I don’t expect much from Schmidt, but can you imagine where we would be if Soler and Flores could hit at all? Soler get lots of venom (well deserved) while Flores gets almost none. Both are unwatchable right now. I can’t remember the last time I saw either of them hit a ball hard with runners on. Flores .214 with 1 homer. Yuck!

I suspect Harrison, with his 92 mph fastball, is not going to “learn” to pitch, ala Webb. Tyler Rogers’ delivery is deceptive; Harrison’s stuff is just lacking in velocity and movement at a time when 95 mph is barely above average. What a disappointment.

Giants infield D other than Chapman is a crapshoot.

How can you expect to be competitive with that going on every game? It cost SF a run right now.

BTW, another meh start from Harrison. This kid was hyped as a massive phenom, can’t miss. He looks like ultimately a #5, maybe a #4 at best. Where’s the 97 mph movement heater and big time curveball we heard about coming up? …

Dirty Harry is the LEAST of this team’s problems.

they can’t field, cover bases, run bases, or hit with risp. If Harrison is a 3 4 or 5 at least he gives the team a fucking chance ti win.
