do they really have Whisenhunt penciled in for tomorrow??? I guess not many options. But this is the roaster and rotation Farhan has built.

And for those who think Zaidi is at risk of losing his job if current trajectory continues, ownership re-upped him thru 2026 co-terminus with Melvin’s contract. It would take precipitous fall in 2nd half – say 72-90 finish – fan base revolt and box office revenue collapse for Johnson family to even consider senior management changes.
We got encouraged by late May upswing and then discouraged by 1-5 road trip debacle. But the big picture tells the real story. 5.5 years into Zaidi regime and Giants have yet to show any marked improvement. Is the 40 man roster or farm system better than 6 years ago? Perhaps on the margins but no real tangible progress.
Giants are a sailboat luffing in the wind in San Francisco Bay. Sorry to be Negative Nelly to start week but I’m frustrated.
Casey Schmitt is an overlooked disappointment.

I haven’t seen the article, but apparently its quite disturbing about where his head/body is at. So far this signing is half a season almost done and pfttttt production for a $32MM /year signing — an unmitigated disaster…

The announcers yesterday were talking about pinch running for Wilmer but didn’t So lame. While in Chicago I told my Giants friends group I wouldn’t root for the team until Brooks was off the team. He was hitting .180 then and dropped the pop up. .120 now. Infuriating.

Give Webb credit for lasting 6 and not allowing any more runs after second inning. Of the 5 games lost on the trip, this last one was 4-3 game they’d battled back into going to bottom 8, first L to Cubs was 2-2 going to bottom 8 when Tyler Rogers had rare meltdown, and 2 other Ls were 6-5 one run games. Only the Winn start was blowout L.
Maybe Undecided gets it together and Ramos (1-23) pulls out of slump, Matos gets real hit (no popups to SS that fall in) now that he’s back, etc.
Willie, we got very strange rain in the Central Valley today where I live. It was a very hot day, then some dark clouds rolled in out of nowhere, and it rained hard for about 30 seconds. Then those clouds left.

Certainly the buck stops with him, and he should bear the brunt of criticism; but it wasn’t unreasonable for him to expect to get much more from Snell, Soler, and Lee. That’s a pile of bad breaks. But that goes with the job. The hot seat is the hot seat.

Just a weird season so far. On the one hand, Giants above only 2 teams in the NL – 2! – yikes, 13th of 15 teams. On the other hand, only 3 games out of the WC. Not sure I’ve ever seen that before. Gonna be a lot of jockeying for position between now and the AS break as all those mediocre teams try to figure out if they’ll be buyers or sellers.
