Luke Jackson Sucks
Back to regular font. Bold was fun while it lasted. If we are going to see this season saved we need a winning streak from the Sun Dressed Goddess. I’ll ride CalTrain all day today and see if I can find her. We are going to need something BIG if we’re going to be competitive this weekend against a team that is much better than us.
We are almost a .500 team, the Dodgers are 20 games over .500.
Good luck in your task, Flav but I think we’re going to need sun dressed goddess twins.
Maybe I’ll look it up later but the Dodgers might be 200 games up on us over the last decade…
And if you count 2014 we have the legit World Series.
198 more wins from 2013 thru yesterday.

Should probably piss them off more than us…
I’m not sure why I’m blown away by that number, but I am.
Forget the Sun Dressed Goddess, we need to get Bow Tie back.
Btw 17-23 Dogs won 88 more games than Braves, second to them only once. 2014-16 Braves were under .500 while LA was winning 90+. Bottom line I don’t think anyone has kept up with them during those 10 years.
LA-ATL difference comes out to 165 over 10 years through 2023.
It will be interesting to see how LA sorts out IF without Betts. Their lineup was bit top heavy to begin with, and little less so without him. Muncy is on 60 day IL, they aren’t getting much of Gavin Lux. Teoscar Hernandez having great first half (sustainable or not?), other FA Kike Hernandez is not. Rookie OF Pages having fine start, but they sent Outman back to AAA. Not everything they touch turns to gold–Chris Taylor extension turned into disaster.
Giants get 26 year old SP Knack first–5 starts 25 innings of good work. Dodgers also do not give up many HRs (Glasnow have given up most), and pitching behind SPs pretty solid including closer. Giants played them tough last year, losing season series 7-6 despite wide difference in final team records.
Gonna miss most of this one for basketball commitment, but I do hope there isn’t as much blue in stands as has been there in some of previous games.
Don’t hold your breath. Webb needs to bring his A game.
Young guy we’ve never faced?
We usually know how that goes.
Still pretty annoyed about Melvin bringing in Jackass.
And we get Wade back tonight.
prepare yourself for a sea of blue tonight. This is gonna be ugly.
The amount of Dodger “fans” at Yankee Stadium a couple of weeks ago was pretty shocking…
which is kinda funny when you hear all the pushback about how awful SF is. Staying in SF even for day or two at weekend hotel rates ain’t gonna be cheap. “sea of blue” is disgusting. Probably same crowd that overreacts to every fly ball like they do down there.
Props to fans in SD that continue to support Pads and fill up Petco.
Well, SD has young exciting players. We have the snore core. Our big gets in Chapman, Soler, and Oooh that Snell are fair, bad, and horrible.
Our regulars constantly get hurt, the pitching is all over the place and injured. Wade, Yaz, Ahmed, and Conforto have all spent time on the IL and we are not even halfway through the season. The pen is a rolling disaster with Jackson’s continued fuckups, and Doval is being used weirdly at times.
On paper at least this should be a better team than last year’s but here we are treading water at the bottom of the playoff chase. Again.
Good news Chuck. Just checked and they’ve played 82 games…
Missed it by THAT much!
It needs to be said: Bob Melvin is a terrible 9th and 10th inning manager. Historically bad last year, and he’s blundered a few times this year.
In the bottom of the 8th, he was right to warm up Doval and Hjellie, brought in the right one when they didn’t score. If available, which I assume he was, ALWAYS use Doval in the 10th. Pinch hitting Bailey instead of Wisely with two out in the 9th was another mistake.
Like I said, BoTard is a fucking fence post.
He’s misused Doval numerous times this season, and this infatuation with Jackson borders on abject stupidity.
The guy has a whip of 1.654 and an era of 6.23.
Kapler wasn’t this stupid.
Kapler the prima donna robot, managed by committee. He is best suited at being a nutritionist or a weightlifting spotter. Glad they fired him.
Say what you will about him, he did a better job than Fence Post is doing.
Fair enough, Unca. I just got to a point where I couldnt stand the guy, couldnt even listen to him.
Not a big fan of his either, but he did more with less than Melvin certainly did.
I still can’t get over Jackass in the 10th . . . . . . .
There is NO WAY that should have happened. He had any number of other guys he could have put in there.
What SD has is an overload of very expensive FA players, youngest being Tatis Jr. who is hurt again. Machado is unable to play 3b fulltime and Bogaerts also on IL; that’s a lot of long term payroll filling up whirlpool. H S Kim is hitting .223, and replacement for Machado tyler Wade is hitting .239. they just added 36 year old David Peralta to cover OF. Most “exciting” guy beside Arraez (.735 OPS) is 31 yr old retread Jurickson Profar and his .893 OPS.
Padres fans filled yard last year to watch Melvin’s team and have supported it even after they lost Soto. Preller, despite constant wheeling/dealing, is subject to about same level of animosity from fan base Zaidi gets.
Dodgers last trip into SF is this one.
Mason black threw 6 shutout innings for RCs last night in Vegas in game Sac hit 6 HRs and won 14-8. Luciano had one of them, only his 2nd of year and is 8-44 since coming back off hamstring injury. Grant McCray was 4-5 with 2 doubles and triple. If at some point there are trades or injuries that take out an OF, maybe he gets call up.
It was cool to see all the young guys get start vs. Cubs–in I think Wed game Bailey Villar Wisely Matos and Ramos were in starting lineup, and Matos and Villar both homered.
Pavs says Flores and Estrada to IL, Fitz and Wade Jr. back up.
saw that. This is the MASH unit.
If webb walked lux to get to Ohtani I woulda shit a brick.
Conforto almost got that one out, nice triple.
Our fuckin ballpark…
RIP Martin Mull.
When I moved, I had to get rid of the jar of mayo he signed for me in the 80s. I thought that thing was a bit unstable to move 3,000 miles in 08.
Mantos goes deep.
LUIS!!!
Jesus Christ, Cepeda died…
Damn, RIP Orlando.
wow. 2 in a week. RIP Baby Bull.
RIP Baby Bull.
Chapman!
Chappy for the lead!
Have they even buried Willie yet?
What a great picture. Sad to hear about Orlando.
Great pics.
Last one…
Damm Ramos is no Willie Mays out there just like that 3 pitches in and it’s tied up!!
why the pinch runner?
Wisely for the win.
Beat LA Wisely!
hell of a start!!
yaha! Just got home in time to see that one. Rejoice all ye of little faith
IT WAS A BOLD Win !!
That makes things better.
Cha Cha.
Was tonight ugly uniform night in the majors? Saw at least a half dozen of the worst concoctions ever…
