Unfortunately, This One Went to 11
That is called unraveling. And it appears we get Undecided going again for us today. Our leader. At least we battered Glasnow around. Win today and I’ll take this series all day long.

Is this for real? You never really know anymore…
https://www.mlb.com/giants/news/orlando-cepeda-initials-water-splash-giants-walk-off
I couldn’t see it.
photoshopping that would be pretty easy but for some pro photographer guy to do that would be pretty weird.
Through 10 yesterday Giants had battled Dogs evenly for 2 games in row. Knocking out Glasnow for his earliest exit all season was cool. Sad ending last night but hasn’t been bad week. Walker being able to stay effective for more than one inning is good sign.
Bloop hits are the worst, and they seem to be specialty of Vargas. I get RH blooping one down RF line behind first has always been toughest play for 1b 2b RF at the O, but the jam shots or off end of the bat ones that fall into shallow OF bug me. In one of those “missing bats” columns James linked is graph that shows OFs are playing deeper…well this is what you give up.
After week where he went 2-16 on road, Conforto at home this week 4-13 2 BBs double triple and HR 4 rbis. There are teams that need OF help and it wouldn’t surprise he’d benefit being somewhere other than O.
Shea and Slush had contrasting SF Chron columns. Shea wants Giants to sell, including Wade Jr. and Estrada, to open up spots for kids like Schmitt Luciano etc. Slush takes opposite approach and feels help for rotation that would lessen burden on pen on the way soon.
Ron Swoboda turns 80 today. Stengel loved him and used to call him “Sa-boda” and respect was mutual.
In the latest Giants dumpster moves,Spencer Howard DFA after yesterday’s disaster and the Giants recall reliever Landen Roupp needing a fresh arm for an overused BP..
This game could get real ugly if both teams don’t get decent inning starts from both.
Dogpile used 9 pitchers yesterday the Giants 7 if that means much?
Yeah Kat some guys definitely not available. Bivens to start from what I read.
In pre-game talk with BoMel, Flemm talked about Roupp up, but did not even mention the accommodating DFA of Howard. Miller would have mentioned it. Howard is good enough to start for your MLB team yesterday today he’s not even good enough to mention that he’s been cut? Flemm is a company man through and through, I consider that unprofessional. He may have mentioned it already in the game broadcast, but to ignore it while interviewing with the manager is lame, IMO…
TBA and DFA seem to be the most frequent members on this squad….
And LOB.
Yep that’s for sure Snarkk!
Where the heqq is Jon Miller? Is he still a Giants broadcaster?
Is he ill, on extended vacay? Why is he not broadcasting a home series vs. Dodgers? I think fans deserve some sort of explanation about their HOF broadcaster.
Hel yeah nice shot. Bailey fails again.
Sacks full in that situation pressure is on pitcher. No need to swing at 2 non strikes and help him out.
I’d like to see Villar keep on going with the bat, and find a position for him somehow. The guy has pop…
WTF ? Another rally hamstrung with a first out made stupidly.
Giants base running is just outrageously bad. Whose fault was that — Williams with a late stop sign, or Ahmed not paying attention?
No reason for Williams not to send him. If throw went through both runners would have moved up.
Another rocket from Soler good to see.
Giants raking with 6 hits incl 2 doubles, a walk, with 2 sac flies — and still got just 3 runs. Unbelievable…
Goddamit wtf they are the worst running team in baseball, fucking Villar should of been sent home ,Ahmed sure thought so I don’t blame him but just pathetic, Williams didn’t send him..station to station gets real old with this bunch.
Like Bivens in black shoes.
If you reach the majors and are still a lousy baserunner, I’d say it’s hopeless…
wow gets Ohtani with 98 high hard one.
Banging today.
Villar has obviously got some confidence back after last year’s Dauber down, big time. Wade looks like he’s possibly tweaked that leg again. Keep Villar playing…
Villar stung that, again. Agree with Snarkk really hope he can do more of this, add some pop and cover 1b.
Nice 2 out rope Double for Villar knocking in Matos after his double/ error play got him to 3 rd! Usually a death sentence with a guy on 3rd 2 outs are less but Villar delivered.Love ya Mr.Ed But your body is shot right now so take your time Villar can play 1st in a platoon for now..
Kuip –
“Uh OH ! High drive WAY OUT INTO TRIPLES ALLEY!!!…….
and Ramos gets to it right before the warning track”.
Add on, Giants. Get all the runs you can…
Like THAT !
Nice. Roberts decided he’d give this one away, apparently…
Bevins doing a great job only 45 pitches thru 4 innings don’t screwup Melvin and keep running him out thru 6 atleast the BP needs it..
Vamos! dodgers twitter guy said Giants have 6 hits already with over 100 exit velo.
Stomp their fuckin guts out!
Helen Kuiper…
Holy crap, now this is fun!
Chapman got all of that.
Holy F! thanks Roberts for leaving Paxton in long enough for Giants to get 9 off him.
Roberts had no one warming up but a couple fat coaches stretching out lol. He just ruined Paxton today emotionally..
Does not get any better than that as Biven K’s Ohtani again.
Cmon Flemming don’t be so stupid Bevins had a 9-1 lead and just needed one more out u don’t pull him there!! And then he K’d Othani making u look worse as he now qualifys for a well deserved win 🤞
Slater with double that splits OFs and bounces off wall vs. RHP.
“Everybody gonna do time today.”
Beautiful thing about baseball. If you told somebody new to sport that one of the teams playing is in first place and 11 games ahead of the other, they’d have picked the wrong team. Marlins beat Phils last night.
Double day at the yard.
That’s 10 doubles today incredible..
I might just have to make a double cocktail..
Great idea, I’m in.
Oh yeah, end it with a K. Best series win of the season, and it should’ve been a sweep.
A satisfying win fer sure.
definitely, after tough way to end last night got right after SP from get and didn’t let up. 5-2 homestand.
Wonder when the last time everyone in the lineup had a hit…
Maybe this?

“Bring out yer dead.”
“Here’s one.”
I’m not dead.”
He’s says he’s not dead.
“Yes he is.”
“I’m not.”
”I’m feeling better.”
“No you’re not. You’ll be stone dead in a moment.”
Who are deez guys.
Hit Half a Moon Bay this morning. Took a great walk to the last free beach in HMB (redondo). Incredible gorgeous day. then went to Sam’s Chowder house for lunch. Did t hear or see anything about the game and just did the fast forward deal.
Bivens did a big favor to the pen in getting through 5. And this is how this team should be hitting. I can’t fault Robert’s too much for sacrificing Paxton today as his star guy got rolled yesterday. He used 7 guys?
I really can’t figure out how psychotic this team is. Abject failure yesterday followed by this offensive explosion. Beat the Phillies and Dodgers in those series and get swept by the Angels.
Injuries are still the bigggest concern I guess. Get our starters healthy and we could move up over the magnet that is .500.
Nice hitting, nice win.
I like Tyler Rogers — when he comes in with an 8 run lead, so the 2 he gives up don’t really matter…
Mercy rule lead I would still not be comfortable bringing Luke Jackson in..
Was it a couple years ago that going into the season, 3rd base looked like Villar’s to win or lose? We saw some productivity the year before, but when the time came, he didn’t put up the numbers to stay. He looks like a different player now; some good knocks, and he also looked pretty good over at 1st. He could be a difference maker if he continues playing well and if Wade continues to fight his ouchies…. A nice development along with Ramos remaining entertaining as hell and Soler finally seeming to find his groove.
