This is my favorite day of the year. Forget Christmas and Thanksgiving and my birthday and all that stuff. Gimmie hot weather, outdoor parties, hot dogs, beers, baseball and our flag flying high in the sky.
Big game today. Can’t have us losing this series, not after Krukow green lighted our run through the National League this Summer. lqtm.

Really good outing for Snell–67 pitches 5 no hit innings 1 BB 9 Ks. Should start Tuesday game when Giants return home. Harrison to start tomorrow. As others noted this gives Giants chance to move Hicks to pen…he seems to run out of gas after few innings anyway. Already at 90 innings; last 2 years each he worked 60+ for Cards.
Latest Bowden in TA he says Giants should be buyers and still really likes Chisholm. Nothing said about who would Marlins want in return. In different question Bowden said Chisholm best position is 2b.

Often clueless Ostler raised interesting point: RCs are going to put in turf so that yard can handle A’s and Cats both playing there next season. Um, even if they play at 7 PM, what is temp going to be on the field if they played tonight where it’s over 100 in the day, let alone all summer there? Other ML fields (5) that have turf right now are all either fully domed or have retractable roof.

Watcha all have cookin? We are just going with grilled burgers, local onions and homegrown tomatoes, fresh corn (picked 2 days ago), local watermelon, strawberry cake with fresh strawberries and…(?). We are getting in so much fresh corn I see a batch of corn maque choux in the near future. Even tho it’s been hot here, and I already used a bunch of local Mattamuskeet onions for French onion soup.
Wow that sounds wonderful. I had a burger that I soaked in Burgundy over night and some Hami Mellon. It was good.

Cooking steaks in the air fryer. Inside. It’s 108. outside in the Creek today.
I’ve never tried one of them air fryers, need to check em out. I think the heat index here was in the 90s, but luckily the yellow flies were pretty much gone, so fired up the charcoal grill.
It’s actually crazy how well the air fryer cooks steaks. Very little mess, quick and painless.

Just got back home from Elk Grove, where I visited a friend. Top temperature was 110 degrees . . . Consequently, we cooked inside. My buddy’s wife from the Phillipines and another gal, whom is Thai, made a bunch of native food, including gigantic shrimp that I normally have only seen in Vietnam, Thailand, other SE Asia countries . . . They are tied into the Filipino/Thai communities and know where to get these shrimp. That wasn’t all though – we had squid, along with about 2 dozen oysters, also humongous, in the shell, which we had cooked and uncooked. Coupled with the aforementioned, all sorts of beef and pork Thai and Filipino dishes, along with rice. Afterwards, watermelon. Great feast! Way too much food for a half dozen people.
Sounds like a good time with great food.

What a feast. I love all the adobos. I don’t miss a whole lot about Hawaii but I do miss the food.
