I didn’t go back to find the post or the comment, but earlier this Summer we won with a sac fly and I was shocked to read we hadn’t had one in three and a half weeks. And then we got 3 in 3 innings. LOL. Look, we could have EASILY lost the last 2 games (to shitty teams I might add) but won both times. And they have kept my dream alive of 8-2 by this Sunday evening. Stranger things have happened.

Casali got 3 errors last night, but…the first one on throw to 2b was BS. Wisely was in front of bag closer to pitcher and tried to snag one hop throw that he whiffed on and ball went into CF. that cannot happen, allowing runner to get to 3b. Get your body in front of the ball and at all costs stop it from going past you into OF.
gad, 2b has turned into nightmare btw Estrada Schmitt and Wisely. Bout time to see what Luciano can do there (where he played a lot in Sac) and at least get him some ABs.
James mentioned SFs late last night. Bailey now has 6 of them most on team.
Chron said Melvin has given Walker closer role.
Bryan Murphy take in mcc column “1 pitch pitcher”: Doval throws slider so often bc that’s pitch he is most comfortable with and has least amount of fear it will be hit hard. Chron today said BA vs. slider is .205 (up from.173). Vs. cutter/sinker BA against .291 and .296.
Bought tickets last week to the Monday night Snell start. 8-2 would ratchet up the anticipation very nicely.

I see the Giants winning at least 3 and possibly sweeping the Braves. Fast forward after that – the Gmen have another crap team, the A’s.
Giants should bless the scheduler for this fortuitous turn of events.

Pick your poison between Luciano are Schmitt of the 2 I’m for shipping out Schmitt first..Luciano is the better hitter..
With Canha and Encarnacion, Schmitt has more value as a defensive replacement than Luciano does as a hitter, at least as long as Melvin isn’t playing him. Wisely made an error (charged to Casali) that Schmitt would have handled.
Schmitt is worthless at the plate.
3 games over .500 is our high water mark this year. Woo hoo!

The schedule in September looks like fun to me, not scary, if the Giants continue using August to not just fatten up their record against lesser opponents, but also start jelling (gelling?) as a team for the stretch run. I figured the pitching would lead the way these last 2 months, but the offense is doing just enough, see no reason why that won’t continue. I love September baseball! Only thing better is October baseball…..
2nd base is still a worry. Wisely looks like the guy to go with. Luciano and Canha can split DH duties.
Gotta love how Fitz just stepped up and claimed SS. No one has really done that at 2B with Thairo out. Not even sure Thairo is set there anymore moving forward….
