Third Shitout in a Row?

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on September 15, 2024

I’m not following this team at all right now but if my threads are any indication did we just get shutout for the third time in a row? When was the last time that happened to an SF team?

This clip was more entertaining than the entire Giants season…

I musta saw him 10 years earlier. at the Cow Palace.

per Shea, June of 92, giants went 33 innings without scoring. Melvin held team meeting afterward in that column I read, which noted some fielding issues btw Ramos Wisely and Luciano on cutoffs etc. Ramos was in CF yesterday to start game though McCray replaced him there later.

Mc is 2-16 with 6 Ks, though to be fair Musgrove and Cease wiped everyone out. Pads need these and I’m sure they’re embarrassed about Giants taking 2 of 3 from them week before. Cut Dogs lead down to 3.5

Difference in talent is pretty stark. Pads rookie Merrill is really good looking player, power some speed and fine CF. Kinda funny I guess Barrels with 4 hits yesterday coming back to haunt old buddies. Teams keep letting him go (Reds and Twins after SF 2021) and all he does is hit .280-.300.

This year was a wash but it did show there was some talent in the minors. Don’t really know what baseball players do in the off-season but the Giants should send all of them to fundamentals school.

Yeah I use to go to see The Bay Bombers, Charlie O’Connell was a BEAST nobody ever got by him for points! Had a dude named Gillia Rosco another savage with a cool name. Then the Blonde Amazon Joanie Weston another great skater along with Ann Cavello and they had the married couple of Peanuts Lowery and husband.Peanuts was short but fast and scored points going between opponents legs it was great to watch.. Yeah much better then watching a Giants game they scored more!

Giants players can’t even score at a brothel, maybe in Vietnam but I’ll have to check with P/A on that?

If we don’t adjust on both sides we are toast.

  11. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck said, on September 15, 2024 at 11:36 am

Unreal how soft our defensive scheme is.

We won’t win shit playing this style of defense.

    Absolutely terrible.

    We look pedestrian.

Welp. The upside for the 49ers is they won’t have to pay Purdy $60 million per year.

He’s a below average QB who may end up having a greater career as a coach.

Today’s Giants lineup is straight up swiss cheese. Two runs from this LU would be a minor miracle…

True. Let’s lead off with Canha, that’ll show em.

Ramos btw 9-57 and back to swinging at non strikes.

    Doval disaster…

  28. snarkk's avatar snarkk said, on September 15, 2024 at 4:23 pm

IDK why Melvin puts Doval into these high leverage situations. He hasn’t proven he’s got a clue where his pitches are going.

Only 2 ABs with RISP in 10 innings for SF. 2. Pathetic.

Upcoming road trip will be brutal. Another season under .500 is a virtual certainty…

  29. snarkk's avatar snarkk said, on September 15, 2024 at 4:33 pm

There is no excuse 6 years into a management regime to field this poor a level of player talent, to field a major league team this incompetent in mental and physical fundamentals…

grinding through the last 5 years of this bullshit has made it surprisingly easy to not give a shit about this team anymore…..

      • Paul Sorensen's avatar Paul Sorensen said, on September 15, 2024 at 6:13 pm

When the owners don’t give a shit about the team beyond *breaking even*, it’s going to eventually trickle down to us fans. Fortunately, I believe that love and devotion to everything Giants would return rather quickly under the right management. Farhan, Spatula, the coaches, they all should be gone. As of yesterday. Actually, as of last year already.

At end of that dog food commercial where the Ref is coming home to his dog, the music being played I think is Johnnie Taylor’s I Believe in You. Beautiful 1973 LP Taylored in Silk, with hit single Cheaper to Keep Her.

I tell ya I’m getting there with Shanahan. This was one of the worst coached games I’ve seen. His play calling today was awful.

Our defense plays prevent for 4 quarters. Special teams suck. Again. The O line was awful.

All these things needed to be addressed this offseason and they weren’t.

    This defensive scheme is terrible.

  32. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck said, on September 15, 2024 at 6:55 pm

We were running the ball great with Mason so naturally we throw on 4th and goal on the 1. Minnesota didn’t stop the run. Shanahan did.

Penetration all over the field against our O line, so later we throw a sideways pass on the goal line that nets -5 and coulda been a turnover.

Posey for Pres. of Baseball Ops, Kim Ng for GM. The path is clear. 🙂

So, Ramos was the FIRST RH hitter to put one in the cove today?

Wouldn’t be surprised if Buster becomes a key driver in determining direction for the team. He can’t be happy watching what’s happening under Z.
