Huh, not that it might ultimately matter, but pushback from Boras on lack of involvement from he and Zaidi on Chapman deal. from Chron, “The years and guarantee totals presented to Matt were a product of a two week negotiation conducted with Farhan and me while he was in and out of the hospital.” And, “Once the ancillary terms were completed, Farhan and I exchanged a letter of agreement Monday afternoon (Sept 2) and the agreement was concluded.” Boras said Baggs never contacted him for column he wrote and “any report that suggests Farhan and I did not negotiate the financial package is inaccurate.”
the no trade clause came up in Baggarly’s scoop. Ancillary? Weasel word. Boras is embarrassed. Farhan apparently was ill, however. Doesn’t really matter, I bet. If Boras has to deal with both Farhan and Buster over Snell, so what? It’s business.
I’m not buying Zaidi’s involvement getting Chapman’s deal done.If Posey didn’t step in and basically said to Chapman what’s the big holdup?Money?Years? The opt outs? ( something Zaidi always wants to include) we won’t include those, with a no trade deal.Bingo done! Posey basically going over him and FO agreeing with him, makes Z a lame duck GM along with Melvin with another of his handpicked flop in manager BoMel.These 2 are not coming back imo as they find another GM and manager who will want to hire his own guy.

Melvin was NOT Zaidi’s handpicked guy, Kapler was. He was foisted upon the Giants by the “consensus” of disgruntled fans, Baggarly, Lurie, Larry Krueger, and various sundry bloggers.
There’s a misguided belief that the old ways of doing things are better. Posey WILL be a better front man for player acquisitions, possibly training and drafting too. Zaidi is gone, Melvin will likely stay.

Baggarly broke the story about melky’s failed drug test and had to endure weeks of denials and accusations against him before mlb confirmed his report. Then couple years later he got fired from Comcast after reporting on a clubhouse fight becz Angel Pagan organized a boycott against him for revealing the truth. Luckily for us, the athletic soon started up and hired him instantly. He knows how to vet his sources. And he won’t kiss ass like the chron writers just to preserve access.

A great game last night, and a lot of fun to watch. The only slight negative in the broadcast is that Hunter Pence isn’t much as a TV analyst. We fans love the guy, but if it wasn’t for that, he wouldn’t have much to bring to the broadcasts. He really really doesn’t want to say anything negative about any of the Giants, so he just kind of fluffs his way through the broadcasts.
There’s nobody more tiresome in baseball than Alex Cora. He should have been suspended for at least 10 years for the fraud of 2017. He only had to sit out the shortened Covid ’20 season. And there he is often on my TV screen, going on and on about some injustice done to the Red Sox. The Red Sox aren’t going to make the playoffs this season, and that’s a cool thing.
I’m against the Tigers making the playoffs because of Hinch being the manager. I’ll always root against Hinch and Cora. The gutless commissioner allowed them to keep that 2017 championship, which was pathetic.
You gotta feel a little sorry for rookie quarterbacks thrown so quickly into the fray these days in the NFL. It didn’t use to be that way, but in today’s sports world, the fans want to see things happen quickly, and these rookie QBs get thrown into tough situations.
I’m into the Univ. of Colorado football team having some fun with what they’re doing. They were a dead-in-the-water program that has become better than that now. BUT, come on, shake the other QB’s hand after the game. I know the other QB had talked some trash during the week. But, man, if you won the game, that’s the important thing. Be the bigger man.
Frankly I’m sick of Deion and his antics. His act was cool at Jackson State, but his deal in Colorado has worn thin. He acts like they are a top 10 school but in reality they suck against any decent opponent. The Dallas Cowboys of college football.

Shedeur couldn’t finish last year because Deion hadn’t figured out how to put together or coach an offensive line. they lost to freaking Stanford, at home, last year and I doubt they have winning record in Big 12. He doesn’t seem interested in being at Colorado long term or building from ground up.
I’d have more respect for him if he’d stuck around Jackson State and helped uplift other HBCU programs and his recruits in that league. Instead it’s off to bright lights and NIL $$.
Deion is a clown. All he cares about is himself and his son. He gets reporters who he doesn’t like banned. He’s absolutely 0 substance. I bet he quits coaching after his son leaves for the NFL
