A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Three Games Left For Glory

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on September 26, 2024

Chappy’s “Quest for 30” seems to have stalled out. Now all that remains is our “Drive to .500!” Can we get there? This is so exciting to watch play out. 🙂

mlb.com says Tigers lose tiebreaker to both Twins and Royals but win over M’s.

Of the 30 MLB teams, the Giants right now have the 21st best record. Put another way, there are only 9 teams worse. I’m a believer in what Parcells said — you are what your records says you are. And, it took a near season-ending best winning streak roadie of the season to get to that. A raw team level comparison, to be sure. But, illustrative. There is no way that kind of performance in the 6th year of a GM’s run, tethered to just one post-season visit of the 6, justifies a 7th year attempt. Kawakami, not my favorite scribe, on KNBR yesterday said everything he’s hearing indicates the ZMan is gone next week…

last call’s past at the E Coli’s final game. Smoke bomb and full can of beer just tossed onto the OF. Fanatics primed to have a post game sit down strike.

apparently Zito sang the anthem. Boch and Semien both seem to me to be somewhat annoyed by the general excess.

And let’s add another green smoke bomb and an idiot fan on the field up to 5 stoppages!

And the A’s hold onto win 3-2 ..

Thanks Fisher so being a cheap ass Billionaire who has no clue of running an organization..Sacramento A’s what a joke..

Royals and Tigers (5th in row) both win, 2.5 up on Twins who play later at home vs. Marlins. Tigers end season with 3 vs. ChiSox who did win again today to avoid exceeding 120 Ls.

“…What Parcells said — you are what your records says you are.” Agree. Remembering when the leagues had no divisions, no playoffs, winner of the league takes all, and remembering whenever my team finished way down on that final standings list….. Right, today’s Giants would look rather sad in 10th place out of the 15. Z gone next week would be a very happy thing.

Loo: trying not to look it up. Think it was a boxer. Not Joe Louis. Who else from Detroit? The Hit Man?

well, things are pretty quiet at the E Coli tonight. Looks like those maniacal fans didn’t put up much of a fight at the end. They did run the wave around the park many times during the game, though.

Charlie, I met Marvelous Marvin once at the Copley Plaza Hotel bar in Boston, years ago when I was attending my company Christmas party there. Went with my girlfriend to the bar and he was sitting there, all dapper and dressed to the nines. Nice guy, we talked for awhile. My gf, who was a fan, asked him to sign her breasts, but he politely declined and signed her arm instead, saying to her, “What would your Mother think?”. Never met the Hit Man…

What would he have signed — “Marvin was here”? 🙂

Lulz. I think my gf just wanted to enjoy the tactile pleasure of the tip of a pen lightly etching that soft bosomy skin of hers..

Marlins knock off Twins 8-6 in 13. Royals and Tigers 3 up on them for last 2 WC spots.

Wasn’t too long ago that AL Central division was so terrible. A bit rejuvenated now. Happy that Tigers will probably get in instead of Twins, they’ve had their chances and never seem to do particularly well in the post-season.

Dogs blow up T Scott and send 10 men to plate bottom 7th to turn 2-0 deficit into 5-2 lead over Padres. Wil smith homered off Musgrove after a walk to tie it and then after he left Scott imploded. dogs aided by C interference.

Twins pulled a Giants game today. had so many chances to win at home and never got a hit

As of today the Dodgers and Giants had allowed the exact same number of runs scored. Diamondbacks a full 100 more runs allowed! Tells you about our offense:(
