What A Game
Disappointed that Cleveland won but can’t argue with the exciting moments they offered. Gonna find out what that NY team is made of after giving that one away.

I would like to see a Mets/Cleveland series. I think that would do today’s baseball a huge service.
I’ll be disappointed if both Yankees &Dodgers both make the W/S which of course is a marketing dream for the nextworks. It’s mostly rigged that these 2 teams will get in with the money these 2 teams put out in mega contracts..
couple blown saves and an L by closer (Holmes) who had more blown saves than anyone this season. idk what other options Boone has but he’ll feel heat if Yanks blow this one.
Maybe not as many viewers, but will be a BIGGER STORY if the lowly Cleveland Guardians get in and spanks the Bums 7 ways from Sunday. For me as a Giants fan, that’s the scenario I want to see happen.
No one has a longer draught than the Indians in baseball correct? That is the best story line. That Noel absolutely crushed that homer.
Yep, but ironically, they allowed the Cubs (in 2016) to end their streak of 108 years without a WS win. So, Guardians have been without a World Series since 1948.
would be great to see both Flodgers and Yank-mes blow 2-1 series leads. Flav, you are the only person I have ever heard hating the Indians. Did Manny Ramirez steal your girlfriend or Vizquel hit your car???
I think it’s more that the Yanks have a much better shot at beating LA. The Dogs are up 3-1.
Seriously, GH, you can’t just use the new name for the Cleveland team? What do you lose by using their new nickname or just calling them Cleveland? I’m just curious.
The Phillies so blew these playoffs. They get to sit and watch the Dodgers demolish the Mets. The Mets look so overmatched it’s actually historic. Not since the 1960 Pirates has a team suffered this many big blowouts in a series. BUT, of course, the kicker is that the Pirates won that World Series, by eeking out four wins to go with their three blowout losses. And, of course, punctuated by Mazeroski’s walk-off HR to win the World Series in Game 7..
And, of course, the entire TV broadcast of that Game 7 can be watched on YouTube because Bing Crosby was given a copy of the video of the entire game, and stuck it in a storage facility, forgot about it, and someone eventually stumbled upon it many years later.
The ’54 Cleveland team had a historic regular season, of course, but were swept by the Giants, featuring Mays’ amazing catch in Game 1; but no other moments are big historic memories from that series. Sweeps tend to not leave huge memories to the general public. We, Giants fans, have big memories from the Giants sweeping Detroit in ’12, but fans of other teams probably would be stumped coming up with memories from that series. Maybe they remember the close play at the plate on Fielder that the ump called correctly, pre-replay review era.
I bet Verlander will always remember at least two of the Panda’s 3 HRs in game 1.
Game 3 of the WNBA finals drew the biggest TV ratings for a finals game in their league history.
Watching a bit of the NBA pre-season games after watching WNBA games for a few months is a trip. The NBA players look gigantic lumbering around the court. Shooting lots of three’s, and just as boring as ever, lately.
The Bronny situation is actually a narrative at least. A story. Probably a disastrous story, but still. What other narratives are there in the NBA this season? Klay Thompson in Dallas is kind of interesting. As a pundit said, Klay was pretty unhappy last season, and maybe we get a happy Klay again this season. If he still has enough gas in the tank. The really tall dude for the Spurs? OK, a little bit interesting. As a Kings fan, I would have liked to see a little better preseason record than 0-5. Yeah, those games mean basically nothing, but it’s not comforting.
I’ve never been a huge basketball fan. But now, I just don’t care about NBA basketball. 82 games in a season when 60 would be plenty. I pay some attention to college ball, but not a lot. The last straw was LeBron holding the Lakers hostage to draft “Bronny”. Not the kid’s fault, but he couldn’t even get close to breaking into the USC starting five — so he’s drafted in the NBA second round? I pay attention to the Dubs, and that’s all. Steph IMO has surpassed Joe as the all time Bay Area sports star…
Same as snarkk, love the Warriors, but dislike the style of play overall, e.g., no one drives to the basket anymore . . . seems like all teams prioritize the 3. Basically, I could give 2 shits for NBA basketball (albeit, it has become more competitive each season since LA, Boston, Chicago took turns ruling the roost).
Stopped watching college basketball years ago due to all these half-wit players skipping school after one year (bad decision insofar as a “life decision” and just having a basic education). How can anyone root for these “carpet bagger” like teams? No continuity at all.
i don’t like Cleveland mostly because I had so many negative interactions with their shithead fans on Twitter back when it was Warriors/Cavs going at it over and over
Oh yeah. Good friend of mine was sales rep whose Supe was big Cavs fan and always railing at Curry. Durant shut those a holes up.
Shit for brains daddy Johnson still sending millions to the MAGA imbecile.

If I had a pocket full of fucks, I still wouldn’t give one to this asshole . . . more so for Greg Jr., that has run this franchise into the ground.
I hate that the Giants main owner is a MAGA nut.
Yeah marte drives in 2 more 5-1 Mets.
Flaherty is getting spanked.
LA praying for him to get through this 3rd inning (60 plus pitches) and the hits keep coming.
Dumb decision by Roberts to keep him in. HAHAHA!
What a dumb fuck Roberts is. Swallow 8-1 Dave.
Go Mets.
I had to mute these trutv announcers. I have no idea who they are but they’re the worst. Just non stop analytic talk. They’re ruining the game.
that’s the data cast. Over on Tbs is the regular broadcast with half competent guys
Do you have TBS BF?Ron Darling and his guys much more interesting listening too.
It wouldn’t of happen to him this year if he was the Giants manager, but I’m throughly more impressed with the future of Steven Vogt over the end of the road for Melvin who will be gone next year, he’s a lame duck and really Posey should of dumped him..
Like they should have dumped Farhan last year. This team is in slow motion. If they get Sabevans, they are going backwards.
Vogt pitching to Stanton with first base open not a great move.
Dodgers would ruin Yankees pen.
Guess Boone too with 1B open Fat Boy Naylor cuts it to 6-5 still only one out..
Oh man. Yanks look like something out of tee ball.
Wow crazy play on Lane Thomas squibber shades of Bill Buckner thru the 5 hole as Indians tie it up 6-6 as skinny Naylor scores..Tribe will not die, great game..
Skinny Naylor, haha.
Not that Close is fooling anyone either.
the end of this game reminds me how great it was to have an extra inning last night without a ghost runner.
Watching Alonso run the bases is like watching elephant seals move around at Ano Nuevo beach over by Pescadero.
That said, I wish the Giants had him or a guy like him the last few years. I wouldn’t sign him now, his best days are in the rear view. Wade? Please. Hopefully Eldridge is not just smoky hype, which seems to describe a lot of Giants first rounders the last decade or two. Too bad he’s not right handed. Given the ball park, I’ll never understand Giants going after FA or drafting left handed power rather than LH speed and doubles power.
Seeing Yanks and Doghair mash is amazing to me. Even the Mets and Guards. The Giants don’t have an offensive attack even close to these teams. Maybe some of it is late season pitching tired arms, but seriously, that Yanks lineup of hitters is scary. Giants fans can only hope Buster has some magic to get this team back into contention soon. — maybe by season 2027…
If Eldridge approaches or even slightly surpasses Belt’s success over the years, then we’ve got a 1st bagger. Seems to be the real thing, just a matter of when he’ll *assume the position*… But the team definitely needs more offense from 1B now, as well as OF (need someone new who’s better than anyone currently there), maybe 2nd base (who knows what’s happening there), and also catcher (need a legit 2nd catcher to spell Bailey, not just weak hitting subs). That’s possibly 4 position players needed to up the hitting. It’s not monumental or impossible, and hopefully Buster and the new GM will get right on it…………… I have no problem with the likes of Yaz and Wade remaining, just not as starters.
Joey Bart had a one-year deal in Pittsburgh at the MLB minimum. He’s arb eligible after 2025. Wonder how he and Buster got along?
Yeah, Bart would have been a fine #2…
The only way they will be in contention is by spending a lot of money on deals that aren’t opt-outs.
Offense was down across lot of teams this season, and lot more will be looking for upgrades. In times when run scoring is down power and HRs like we’ve seen from playoff teams do become more important. Not sure Giants can find 4 replacement hitters in one off season, but 1 or 2 would surely help. Would also help if they could get something from Lee resembling what Steven Kwan brings to Guards.
IMO losing Lee so early in the season was a major blow for the team. I think he’ll be excellent out there and also produce at the plate. Guess we’ll see… But could still use a new “Soto lite” since they’re not gonna get Soto…
the burden of proof isn’t a tough concept. Most jurors understand it. Nonetheless, tv baseball announcers treat it like recondite lore every time a close call goes to New York.
Oh no. Soto’s Price just went up another $100 million.
oh, well.
Easy to say after the fact, but I woulda gone after Judge and walked Soto. Righty/righty and all . . .
Thought maybe Soto doesn’t want to be 3rd fiddle behind Judge&Stanton and might consider moving on with my outfield of Soto RF,Lee CF,Ramos LF,not now Yanks will pay him most of NY Coney Island ,Rikers and Loo’s special crib of all those combinations..
So I’ll downgrade again from a Superstar player coming here again.I do like to add a couple power bats with SS Adames &Im liking Gleyber Torres at 2B and using Fitz as super utility/ some outfield as well..
