A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Great Start to 2025

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on March 31, 2025

Only caught pieces of the game on the radio but that was a man’s win. Hitting bombs, Chapman’s incredible defense and aptitude for the game. The guys are doing the little things right, something they were doing in spring training, too.

So far the ghost of Farhan is in the past and there’s a new sheriff in town. His name is Buster Posey.

Let’s keep it rollin’ in Houston!

3 down, 159 to go. All Giants need to do is maintain .667 winning percentage for balance of season and we’ll relive magic of 2021 season.

Craig, thanks for firing up baseball blog for another year to give loyal and passionate Giant fans a daily platform to exalt, vent and critique the Bay Area’s only surviving baseball team.

Looking at Stros roster, Steven Okert has pitched an inning out of their pen.

Really surprised he’s still MLer after those first couple years with Giants.

Only watched highlights/read recaps of games since opening day. Giants are doing what’s necessary to stay in the game. Tried a few times to watch games on Stream East, but could not get the games for some reason? Anyone know another free site?

Busy last few days filling POD moving container. No idea how I am doing this at my age (nope, not revealing that). Been packing and moving crap since last week Monday . . . Bone tired, almost zero sleep (sleeping bag last 2 nights sans beds) and yet, I haven’t been injured doing this. Was in a panic after Saturday because I had almost zero room left in the POD. However, the same neighbor that bought furniture from me the week before, bought more of my stuff Sunday. Now, I have maybe 4-5 boxes of stuff that will easily go in my personal truck. Easy peasy now for April 7th closing and trip to WA home.

Stars also must be aligned with keeping my daughter occupied. Specifically, parents of Michele’s school chum – allowed Michele to do 2 consecutive sleepovers after beginning on Friday (after school). She would have been brain dead, bored watching me and the movers the last 3 days.

Good luck with that blade moving is always overwhelming.

Thanks Winder. Yes, buying a home and selling a home is stressful, particularly so, when buying a home out of State. Ironically, this was super easy, particularly because my purchase was a distress sale by the owner/builder, whom passed away a month before his wife listed it. Per my realtor (background in construction) and the home inspector we contracted with – the home is conservatively worth $100k to $150k more if built with the same materials used in the construction. Mostly, all the stress has been on selling my CA home. Only today, do I feel like there’s light at the end of the tunnel and it isn’t a train coming my way. Ha.

Man, you do a lot of moving!! Good luck. We are tentatively thinking of moving to Washington. Somewhere outside of Seattle.

Funny thing is, our toughest move by far was when we moved from a rental in Walnut Creek to the house we bought 1/2 a mile away.

Flores makes him pay for trying to come inside with fastball after all the sliders.

    Another ribbie in book.

A couple of nice gift plays by Stros gets the Giants a 2nd run

Yaz picked off 1st but Pitcher Blanco waited to long as Yaz beats the throw to 2nd.
Blanco again trying to field a Fitzgerald bunt that would of went foul. And they pick up a Sac Fly by Ramos, good situational

Lee works Blanco for a walk to lead off 6th before big bats to follow and Blanco is gone. Lee is off to good start, really impressed.

Geez 3HR’s 8 RBI’s in these 4 games and his other hit tonight knocked in a run he’s on fire 🔥 ! Another thing that has changed so for for the Giants are they are actually stealing bases, I swear last year I was doing side bets with the Flap when would we ever get are 1st one?And it was many games in!!

I know it’s early but so far the better baseball, situational hitting, and contributions from lee and Fitz with Ramos and Flores hitting has been FUN! Adames will get going soon too!

Yay!! Thank You BIG FLAVOR !!!

Anyone else notice by 7th inning, tonight’s Braves lineup does not have anyone above Mendoza? Range is .000 – .188 … I know it’s early, but geeezzzzus.

Hey, I like what’s going on in the win column; coupled with I don’t want to shit on the Giants good start/parade . . . but I’ve noticed what you noticed too Bassbaldy – except it’s the Giants I am worried about.

Gmen can’t sustain this winning % by batting .226 (17th in league); OBP .276 (25th in league); .226 BA (17th in league); and, Slugging % .406 (16th in league). Hopefully, they elevate their collective hitting game.

Hey Mr. B! /struck by locojuan’s 6:38 post “Mr. Ed is feeling good.”

I love the tune Feelin’ Good (L. Bricusse/A. Newley), vocal versions and other instrumentals by sax players like Coltrane and Stanley Turrentine. “Birds flyin high/you know how I feel….it’s new dawn/new day/new life…”
