There is such a confidence about this team right now. Fun to watch.
A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball 
Great to watch them take advantage of hitter friendly yards on road instead of getting hammered there like Phils did to them last season. They’ve scored 58 runs in 10 road games while going 8-2. Giants 3rd NL for runs per game and 2nd (!) NL for HRs. Shades of 2021? Giants DID lead NL in HRs that year.
Meanwhile Phils still mad about K of Realmuto in 7th by shaky Miller. Pavs posted pic on X of how far outside zone pitch was, and he’d just missed 3 run HR before that iirc. Oh Well…great tune by old Fleetwood Mac from Then Play On (Coming Your Way another great tune).
great album. Wore it out in college, 69-73, with help from housemates once they heard it. Same band cut that great lp with Otis Spann about the same time.

Yea, Kinda funny, I had no idea about the early Fleetwood Mac as I started listening to FM radio in about 1975 as a newly minted 14 year old loadie. When I found out that Judas Priest covered Green Manalishi from Fleetwood Mac, I was amazed when I got into their old albums.
Albatross, The Super Natural, Black Magic Woman, Oh Well, tons of great songs.
I’ve always used albatross as my phone ring tone. Everyone loves it; no one recognizes it. Soothes me.

I picked up Mayall’s ‘A hard road’ the minute it hit the record store. And to this day Supernatural is still one of my all time favs. I love Albatross also to me they both are calming and yet put out a totally different vibe.
I think it’s the heartbeat bass in albatross.

Couple nice assists there to bail Verlander out after back to back walks. Bailey guns down Turner trying to steal 2b, then after walk to Harper Lee cuts him down trying to advance after flyout to end the inning.
Some nice gifts there by Phillies.Bazooka Bailey throws out Turner and Hoo don’t run on me Guns down Harper going to 2nd on a stupid play by Harper!!

Agree. On the replay, you can see clearly that his head (and eyes) were turned away from the ball. Weird approach/back hand of the flyball.

Ramos was a little wide on that route.
Not to pour rain on 12-4 start to season but Verlander has yet to shine in 4 starts. 6.75 ERA. Hicks has pitched better but also struggled and not gone deep in games. Giants putting too much reliance on bullpen which has been stout all year. Gotta get more quality innings and length from starters.
Birdsong starting instead of Hicks or V? I would’ve listened to that argument.

I’ll go on record – I doubt Verlander will turn it around. Maybe just me, but that was a terrible signing, particularly after the putrid season he had last year. I hope I am wrong . . .

Agreed he is the weak spot in rotation and didn’t have much command today. Posey liked him though so doubt he’s going anywhere, yet.
That coupled with an ironclad $17 million one year contract. Obviously, I don’t expect he’ll be released with that type money invested. Just saying that it was quite a gamble, particularly after his mediocre season last year. Like I said, although doubtful, I am still hopeful that he can turn it around, as he is the one and only, Justin Verlander . . . If anyone can figure it out, he can.

Melvin mismanaged the Pen again. Again, waited too long to bring in Rodriguez — it was obvious Verlander was not up to it. If I hear the radio guys keep saying yeah, maybe he was slow on getting in a new arm, but he’s playing the “long game” on this long roadie with the Pen — I’m going to hurl. If you are in the game in the 6th frame or so, like tonight the Gyros were ahead — the time to focus on winning is NOW. Work to keep the lead, and add on. Saving an arm for an unknown situation a week from now is useless…
