Well, That Didn’t Work….
What would you rather have happen, lose 11-10 as the Dodgers did or 11-3 as we did? Trivino is going to be an important cog in our bullpen this year, let’s not hold one bad outing against him. Hicks needs to get his shit together.
Rather distinct lack of any of Busterball platitudes in embarrassing loss ( good pitching clean D timely hitting). Kruk said Hicks deserved better fate and I can agree with part of that, as D behind him had off night, including Bailey. But for all the “stuff” he can’t seem to command it…shades of J Sanchez. Losing like that imo lot worse than what happened to LA, where Dogs came back from 7-4 deficit before pen choked 10-7 lead away in last 3 innings.
Most disturbing thing was watching yet another LHP with fastball that topped out at 91 befuddle a predominantly RH lineup with changeup and hold them to 1 run in 6 innings.
I didn’t watch the game since it starts way to late where I’m at. But that is discouraging the pitcher must have had a delivery we couldn’t figure out. We only struck out 4 times but were 2 for 11 RiSP. that’s not going to work.
At least City Connect unis are dark as opposed to the previous ones…though Giants seemed to play better in those. Violet (per mlbshop) isn’t a Giants color. As for the 60s, great time for music in SF on into 70s. Fortunate enough to see lot of great jazz there, latin music too at various venues and record shops to binge on for LPs–jazz disc out in Avenues at 45th, Roland’s Soul city on Mission in Daly City. thought nothing of driving from Palo Alto to Durant Ave. Berkeley for deal.
hey guys— kokonuts has re-branded one of his books. The cover looks intriguing. He says he can’t log in to post this so here ya go
Noted author John Feinstein passed in March of this year. His last book “Ancient 8” recounted football season of Ivy League, really good read. I recently re read couple other good ones he wrote about college basketball, “Last Amateurs” about year around turn of century in the Patriot League, where there are schools that don’t offer athletic scholarships and a more recent one on one bid to NCAA tournament leagues. both have side story of him visiting his fav haunt the Palestra in Philly. In Patriot League book he notes that all 22 seniors that played basketball from 7 schools in league at that time (including Army and Navy) graduated from college.
I know a couple of people — one man, one woman — who got drummed out of the Air Force Academy (former) and the Naval Academy (latter) after tearing apart their knees in competition, not becz they lost their scholarships but becz they could no longer pass the standard student physical.
Nice play from Yaz to cut down baserunner Contreras at 3b after base hit, then Koss spears shot up middle and finishes 6th inning for Webb.
Stay hot Wilmet!
Ha Wilmet comes through again. Glad they got Peralta out of there finally, 3rd time through the order.
Wilmer with the hit up the middle, 2 RBIs.
Mr.ED continues his torrid hitting!
2-0 2 run single the leader in RBI’s with 27!!!
The Brew Crew are playing kickball here in the 6th.
Webb’s got to feel pretty good he’s not getting “Cained tonight”
Brewers tossing it around like Giants last night.. 4-0 now..
Outstanding Adames!
Here we go again?
I was thinking the same thing, Mac.
Doval gets it done.
Walker looks like a steaming turd again for the second straight start.Atleast Melvin jerked him this time unlike letting him totally blow the Angels game!
Doval in to clean up this mess hopefully 🙏
Doval saves the day. wow
is tranq the closer again?
WHEW!!!
Doval save!
Definitely a closer situation is building now as Doval’s been real sharp with just solid control which makes all the difference..
Wow! That was close. Not a Doval fan, but he came through! Walkers stuff still looks good but he doesn’t seem to know where the ball is going. Hitting batters with the game on the line not a good sign. Even if Doval re takes the closer job we need Walker to get it together!
