Looking Back on September 2013
Yuck. Ugly game. But it did seem like my boy Walker figured something out so that’s good. I firmly believe he’s our best option at closer. Head Case is awesome…….until someone gets on base.
In the midst of UncaChuck’s wild bday celebration he took the lamp shade off long enough to check in yesterday. He noted that the pic of us was the same day Unca and San Dawg discovered their kids were dating. That still qualifies as the wildest coincidence I’ve ever seen in my life. Two kids who grew up in totally different areas of California, with two dads who had never met, start dating only to find out that their dads, randomly, are two Flap hall of famers. It’s impossible to put into words how surreal that moment was at the time.

Agree, I wasn’t there but that is amazing. We all probably have “small world” stories, but this one Flaps high above most.
Yeah wild coincidence. Hope Unc had fun yesterday…was great to hang with both he and SD at 2019 ballgame. Does appear Walker ironed something out–he said it was length of stride, at least for publication. Didn’t see game but followed along throughout and V was pretty good for most part, R Rod got in there and extended scoreless streak plus Walker shut down inning.
Lot of confusion over Lee AB, none of which he understood even afterwards. He is far and away Giants best hitter, so taking any AB away from him really sucks.
Hopefully bats wake up as weather should be little nicer today. Still amazed to see temps in NYC and Jersey warmer than Bay Area.
Thanks for the b-day wishes. Crazy thing is, the Dodgers, Padres and Giants all combined to score zero runs yesterday. Weird weather. Weird times.

Did Deion play for Reds vs. Giants at Stick? Barely remember his time with Giants.
1994, after Braves traded him to Reds. Remember him leading off and playing CF…looks like 2 games early August vs. Giants at Stick.
Saw him when he was with the Braves at that crazy game where all those baseballs were thrown out of the stands, the umps almost forfeited that game. Dion took a beer to the face, but he signed a ball for a kid to chill out the fans. I think we came back from 5 runs down two or three times to win it.
I remember a game when he was playing for us and he hit a 2 or 3 hopper to 1st and almost beat it out.
I went to Giants-Reds at Candlestick in ’97 and Sanders hit a leadoff HR off Pat Rapp, it didn’t get better from there.
Awwwright! 2 pitches = one out, so far so good. Let’s keep that pace, or close to it
