More Bay Area Winning
Good test in San Diego. Dubs continue their magical run through…..the first round. LOL. It feels like they’ve been in the playoffs for a month already.
Webby tonight.

Pads hurting right now (with Merrill and Cronenworth out), having been swept at home by Tampa. They’ve lost 4 in a row, scoring 3 runs total. Pivetta (SP tonight) got last W, 2-0 win in Detroit.
Hard fought W for GS. As Butler told Draymond on Rockets next to last possession, he got the board after Green got stop on Sengun. He made 12 or 12 FTs by himself while Rockets as team missed 12 of 31 they took. 2 great runs, one to start game the other to start 3rd quarter, offset night when Rockets outshot them with Van Vleet hitting 8 3s himself. Wasn’t enough, yeow.
i know it’s pointless to hope for but Draymond needs to stop getting baited into shit. He’s never gonna stop responding tho
Agreed. He just can’t hold rage in long enough. Rockets and Sengun thrived when he was off floor last night as he carved up Post inside. I know he hit 2 of them last night, but I wish he’d cut down on 3s…if they give you that much space take up some of slack and be patient enough to work for better shot. It’s what Butler does and he’s so much smarter and safer with ball in his hands.
Turning point in the game was when Dillon Brooks was laughing in Butler’s face as Dray was shooting free throws. Don’t poke the bear. Butler took it upon himself to get the win.
Dray is Dray. Steph getting T’ed up for that was ludicrous. And Steph getting the foul on the Brooks foul on the Butler rebound was equally ludicrous. It all equaled out with the touch foul on the Butler 3 to close out the game.
Brooks is such a douche. I’d send Knox into the game just to fuck with Brooks a la Looney and Adams. Just run him over a few times, and fuck him up.
Kerr coached a hell of a game yesterday getting Dray through the 4th quarter, and getting Adams out of the game.
The telling stat was Sengun getting 25 points when guarded by anyone but Draymond, and 5 points when guarded by Dray.
Pads missing Arraez too, and per Dennis Lin of TA went 30 innings without scoring a run before Saturday game ended, longest streak since 1981.
Props to Steven Adams for grabbing Post and ushering to safety beyond the loonies Post had been in middle of. Was cool thing for him to have done in heat of moment. Also props to Loon for keeping Adams off board as best as possible on Sengun miss so Butler could swoop in and grab it.
Adams was pretty much raping Looney on that play. He had both his arms and was pulling him back.
The lack of respect that Curry gets from the refs is pretty fucking amazing.
Looks like Padres Arraez is back from concussion to play tonight,as is Fritzerald for the Giants ..
Good pitching matchup Logan Webb 3-1 1.98 era, Nick Pirvetta 4-1 1.20 era..
The refs let Houston and other teams, too, get away with wholesale, continuous mugging of Curry throughout games. Whether he’s working away from the ball, with the ball, dribbling or shooting. This has to be knowingly tolerated or even advocated by the NBA league office. There is no way LeBron or other stars get this treatment. I don’t pretend to understand it. I’ve read one theory that the league is deeply embedded with Nike, and Steph is long-attached to UnderArmour. Even if true, I still don’t see the rationale. The NFL does everything it can to push the offense — protect the QBs and WRs, etc. Why allow your global superstar to get manhandled every minute that he’s on the court ?…
Alan Iverson also faced the same bias. And he was smaller than Steph.
Older players like to say Steph couldn’t make it in the league 20-30 years ago, but that’s utter horseshit. If AI could do what he did when he did, Steph certainly could as well.
Somebody did some research on foul ratios to 3 pointers or minutes played or some such statistical stuff and concluded that if Stef got foul shots on at least the average level of other stars, including Lebron, he’d average over 40 points per game…
I think part of it is accepted idea playoff ball is different from regular season and game is more physical. As for product itself, while I don’t care for how Rockets are playing, at same time league doesn’t want to see teams shooting 40 FTs a game either during heightened viewership. This is what Rockets do and since they mostly get away with it I don’t expect much to change.
But at any level players have to adjust to how game is being called. If refs start calling the clutching and grabbing away from the ball (which is where Steph really gets throttled moving to get free) at beginning then the guys getting fouls have to back off or they wind up on bench.
I really wish the Dubs would do that. Van Vleet was lighting up the scoreboard. We should send Knox in during his time, and simply grab the shit out of him. Keep him from getting free.
If the refs let that shit go, then so be it. If not, well, VV gets some foul shots.
Mets up 8-0 on DBax in 5th in NYC. 3 HRs including solo shot by Alonso, his 7th/28 rbis slash .349/.466/.670.
Webb gets into the stretch and walks a batter. Every fucking time.
Is it asking too much to get a scoreless 1st inning from the starters?
the stellar d is losing its luster.
and yeah it seems like we are behind every damn game.
I remain upbeat and even excited about this team, fun to watch. But I must admit, while watching Ramos complete his LL HR the other day and doing a bellyflop slide at home, I had an instant flashback to Pagan’s inside-the-parker back in June 2013, when the Giants had around the best record in baseball at the time, flying high… and from that game on, the bats went dead thru most of June and July and that was all she wrote for 2013. Here’s hoping the bats get going soon.
Time for some Late Night magic!
And here comes the Giants! Late night huge hit to knock in 2 runs!
5-4 ! Glad that kid Prvetta is out he was dealing with 9K’s and left just intime for the Giants comeback..
