A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Rested And Wilted

Letting Paddock just cruise into the 8th inning when he hasn’t been past 5 all season was embarrassing. Nice to see Harrison do his best Birddog impersonation. Maybe that’s just how these guys are going to get used this year.

Hopefully, we start a new winning streak tomorrow against the Snakes, where Verlander doesn’t get “Cained” (thank you AK) again.

Twin fans must be feeling pretty optimistic about sweeping what they think is one of the top teams in the game … hmm, so little do they know.

That sucked! harrison needs to be in rotation over Rouup. One more start for Hicks maybe. Any idea when Fitz will be vack?

It’s Birdsong that needs to be in the rotation over Harrison right now who’s still getting his stamina back.Plus with Miller now showing kinks in his armor( overuse) it’s wise to have 2 lefties in the pen right now imo Mrsprtdude..

Also think Doval which always will feather ruffles on the Flap should take back the closer role, he’s been lights out through his last 13 plus innings, yes he can be maddening but not right now compared to Walker who’s just not right with his mechanics..

I know it wasn’t a great result, but walker did an decent job today. just bad result.

1st hit on a 1-2 pitch poked to left on a ball 6 inches outside. Very lucky. Then a grounder to 3rd. A gold glove 3b bobbled it. If it’s caught easy out at home. Another weak infield grounder for 2nd out. last hit a swing so late by a lefty it hugged the 3b line. Augh

With this ghost runner bullshit, a relief pitcher almost has to be perfect to escape unscathed. In fact, this is what AI says:

      Win Expectancy:

      • Runner on 2nd, No Outs: The win expectancy for the team coming to bat in this situation is significantly high, often cited around 80% or even higher in a tie game. This indicates that scoring even one run in this scenario heavily favors winning the game.

That 1-2 pitch though to LH was completely away from how IF D was playing him–why throw that pitch or call it? Walker best move right there was strike the guy out. stop trying to be cute with breaking ball he has less control of and throw the heat right by the guy.
