The Losses Pile Up
Pfffffttttt…..well, I had hoped the Giants could end their losing ways on their own but it appears I will need to make an appearance at tonight’s game to turn this ship around. I’m joining forces with 5 other soldiers, we will call on all our powers and re-start this bitch.
Club level seats if anyone wants to meet up for a beer, hit me up.
Great news! Have fun.
Eldridge watch: 1-7 on weekend, with 3 run HR. Now batting .259, 15-58 with 2 bombs 8 rbis 19 Ks .358/.414 for .772 OPS
3 hits for Encarnacion in 2 games at Sac, GS for Luciano, 5-7 weekend for McCray. Luciano has 7 HRs slash line .238/.358/.427 .785 OPS in 38 games for Sac. Got off to slow start but bat seems to be coming around with lot of hard contact when he does connect. 26 BBs/49 Ks in 143 ABs. These games were in Tacoma too, not one of high elevation or warm weather yards.
Luciano’s exit velocity alone may make him trade bait. Whisenhunt pitches tonight. He’s not close. Hate to see him traded though.
Agree about Whisenhunt, and there’s another Carson up and coming, and along with Birdsong, should be untouchable. Luciano definitely ok to trade. There are several pitchers who the Giants don’t really need and who would probably generate some trade interest (Hicks, Black, Beck, et al). Just not sure who they would trade for. FO stood pat after signing Adames, taking time to see what they got, and now they know more and they’re likely going to need to do something soon to keep the good start going. Have fun at the game there, Craig!
I’m still interested in Flavor’s 1B acquisition idea. Not that I can I’d a target. Fantasy players may know.
also Hjelle may be on that list of sac bait.
Craig, if you really want to make an impact at tonight’s game, suit up and play 1B. You’d undoubtedly provide a more potent offensive threat than Late Night LaMonte.
Sad back story to current 4 game losing streak is Giants have wasted three consecutive strong performances by starting pitchers.
Ramos best catch of the season last night in my opinion . . . https://x.com/NBCSGiants/status/1922134503574929494
Nice photo of it . . . https://x.com/MLB/status/1922138242989662644
I grudgingly have to concur with this writer from McCovey Chronicles insofar as being foiled by bad luck (as I noted last night regarding the Ramos smash in the 8th inning where he battled Beeks for 11 pitches). However, our bad luck extended to both Adames and Chapman too. I will quote the writer:
“Adames’s came an inning later in a flyout to right field that would’ve been a home run in George Steinbrenner Field.
Matt Chapman’s 4th inning flyout to right center traveled 381 feet thanks to a 103.2 mph exit velocity. It would’ve been a home run in Cleveland and at Angel Stadium.”
Sigh . . . Here’s the rest of the story:
https://www.mccoveychronicles.com/2025/5/12/24429066/corbin-carroll-2-giants-1-san-francisco-giants-final-score
Woulda coulda shoulda still don’t mean shit. Ramos doesn’t fuck up a couple times a couple games ago, they win. Every close game has a pile of these.
If only the ump called the 3rd strike . . . etc.
The was to avoid long outs to RF is to sign a RH power hitter.
Can a lifetime ban really be lifted after the player died?
they make the rules.
manfred’s idiotic rationale:
“Obviously, a person no longer with us cannot represent a threat to the integrity of the game.”
Even though I completely botched what I wrote and what I was trying to say, the asshole known as Manfred kind of makes my point. If a player is dead, hasn’t he already completed his lifetime ban?
Hadn’t seen it til just now, but Pads blew 5-3 lead in 9th at home to Angels and lost 9-5. Ace closer Robert Suarez had converted 15 straight saves this year but only got 1 batter out, gave up single and walked 4 in a row before being yanked and charged with 5 earned in 1/3 of inning. Alex Jacob came in, K’d Soler and then gave up grand slam to Taylor Ward. Kenley Jansen retired side in order for Angels in 9th.
Ah, it’s just baseball. Giants scored 6 one game, give up 7. Other 3 Ls combined they only gave up 7 runs total and they were in them all and couldn’t quite pull one out.
After they knocked off first place in NL Central Cubs and took series from them (also 24-18) they were 24-14 and “on pace” for 96 Ws. As much as we like this team under new POBO compared to last few years, it’s not a 96 W team and maybe not even 86 win team. Shit was bound to happen at some point and baseball gods were gonna look the other way.
Taking look at B/R NL leaders pages, Pads (25-15) and Giants almost dead even in runs per game at 4.6, tied for 8th NL. this despite fact Padres have much better slash line, where Giants are in bottom 3 NL for OPS. Giants have actually hit 5 more HRs than SD has while playing 2 more games.
As for pitching SD and SF are 2nd and 3rd NL for fewest runs against and lowest ERA (3.37 and 3.39), trailing only Mets. Pads pitching has given up 5 more HRs and both teams top 3 for lowest WHIP, Giants 2nd only to Mets for FIP.
Reds fan friend tells me it’s Pete Rose night at the park tomorrow versus the…Black Sox. What a pathetic ploy.
Man, that Manfred’s weirdness to a whole new level.
Shirley you must be joking. WTAF?
Can’t wait for Barry Bonds steroid night. But that’ll be 2036 after Barry dies.
Enjoy yourself Big Flavor!
Please, bring us a win!
Lifetime ban now dead in the ground, but Manfred will continue on with a dead time ban on Pete
Ha, that was cool to watch Fred Lewis highlights of his cycle day.
Hope our long lost esteemed colleague Mr. James got chance to see that one.
Yep, missing me some Mr James. Wonder what his take on this first month and half is?
Well, i hope we finish better than we start. Good luck Flav!!

Why did we stop running? 1-2 count. You know the pitcher isn’t gonna throw a strike.

Chappie is just pfffffffffffffffffffffffft. A few chances already.
One guy that doesn’t get Cained is Robbie Ray he’s 5-0 and the Giants have not lost a game with him on the mound..
75 year old Dave McKay still coaching 1b for DBax. Has 3 WS rings, one with A’s 2 with Cards.
Adames says, I got yer slider right here.

Flavor bringing it tonight. Gotta go back to box office.
This isn’t going to be one of those 2 hour games either. DBax can hit…get all the insurance runs you can.
Adames!! Huge 2 run HR! lead up to 6-3 with the pitcher they never lose with..
