Losses Piling On Top Of Losses
Look, I can’t go to all the goddamn games. I won’t feel guilty about them losing just because I’m not there. At some point they need to man up and win one FOR and BY themselves.
The A’s got absolutely smoked by the Dodgers last night. Maybe they come in whimpering and we get back to winning games on the reg.

Yeah I was watching something else and switched over there and it was 15-2 in 5th inning. yikes A’s sent Catcher out there to pitch 8th.
It will be interesting to see what happens when SF faces Royals next week here, and then Tigers on the road. Both teams are playing well and like Padres have really good pitching. Less worried about DBax, who have high scoring offense while pitching struggles. Giants lost 2 of 3 but their offense outscored AZ18-16.

that team has a much better road than home record so far. Better break out the Giant bats. Reminds me: is Bailey the only Giant hitter using a torpedo/bowling pin bat? Lotta good it’s doing, huh?
I really thought Sacto would get behind the team somewhat. But that hasn’t gone anywhere either.

The fast start notwithstanding, the Giants are doing what they did before Posey got here. And that’s not much. A team like St Louis isn’t busting the bank but they draft well and always seem to be in the mix with prudent FA signings.
The Dodgers (and Yanks) seem to draft well all the time, and trade prospects and decent young player all the time to make their team better. AND they spend.
We hope against hope that the farm is gonna come through while not going after guys. And I’ll point at Pete Alonzo again as a guy they SHOULD have tried a one-and-done year on because we DO have a guy who should be our starter next year in Eldridge. I don’t like the one-and-done deals unless there is someone waiting in AAA to move up.
Instead we get a hope and a prayer that Wade will be fine, and Villar will somehow magically be a .280 hitter.
The Buster Posey Experience is simply fading into obscurity at this point.

Luciano and a pitcher for a rental 1B? I’d say yes. But I can imagine a dozen reasons why that sort of deal might not be possible. I doubt that penny pinching is one.
Not really blaming him. I’m just saying their stance is to wait and see on the prospects while they let all the FAs sign elsewhere. Webb signed in 2014 and hit the bigs 5 season later.
No one is really hot and heavy for our prospects. Maybe Dirty Harry and Birdland. But Buster wants to hold on to those guys.

Webb is signed for 3 more years after this one, Lee for 4 more, plus Adames and Chapman locked up. Sounds like core guys are signed sealed and delivered. Ramos hopefully will be next but isn’t even arb eligible til 2027.
