our only hope is the marlins go out and get fucked up tonight and are hung over for the day game.

well said. And what a *hope* that is, aye? Anyone else sick of Doval yet? Again, because he’s fucked up so many games in the past we don’t really have a lot of patience for this guy’s shit. He’s the Niner version of Jake Moody.

using Chuck’s post in the main thread got me to thinking about the POTD’s I used to do. I stopped doing them because Twinfan sent me constant emails about how I was doing them wrong. LOL. Here’s an example. There are dozens of these.

I know it’s easy to hate on Williams right now, he’s been awful as a 3rd base coach lately. But if they Giants offense wasn’t such absolute shit he probably wouldn’t be sending some of these guys who are getting thrown out by a mile. Last night’s throw was awful and it was still enough to get Lee. Embarrassing. Like our offense.

    • unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck said, on June 26, 2025 at 8:38 am

Come on. Two things. Williams left Lee on third on a deeper ball that would have won the game a few days ago.

Yesterday, the LFer was in 25′ to cut off the lead run. Which they did. If Lee holds, we have a runner at 3rd with 1 out. Look at the play. Fucking Lee is 10′ past the bag when the LFer throws the ball.

Stupid stupid stupid. 2 games lost and I’d say 4 other times he cost us runs.

Melvin and of course his no throwing of Windmill Matty in the Fargo Wood grinder for humans..The outfielder wasn’t very deep the usual BS it takes a perfect throw? Lee wasn’t even at 3rd yet as Blackhawk Sarge Helicopter 🚁 Tour sends another abortive player to his death..

Melvin as his usual protocol won’t throw a coach/ player under the bus, I get that to a degree but back to back nights and atleast 4-5 now in the last month?

Look we’re trying to win a game,Look we’re trying to win a game there,Look we’re trying to win a game there! Yes I get it BoMel since you don’t expect a hit in a clutch spot your sending them into Gladiator Arena to die with honor, His blank dumbfounded face is getting old postgame is so annoying now..

  6. djloo27's avatar djloo27 said, on June 26, 2025 at 8:28 am

It’s like he’s been trying to make up for the egregious stop sign a few games back and now he just sends everyone…

    • unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck said, on June 26, 2025 at 8:39 am

Exactly. Lee is barely off 3rd when the LFer throws the ball. And he;s about 20′ from the IF dirt.

I make that fucking throw. At 64 with a bum shoulder.

  9. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 said, on June 26, 2025 at 10:36 am

And let’s not forget are washed up hitting coach Pat Burrell and his terrible job since last year, with a team that couldn’t hit then with him, what’s changed? If anything their even worse.I get the long ties especially Melvin with Williams,Posey with Burrell but they really need to consider cutting bait with both which for them would be hard to do.,Hallienberg also these clowns have made them the worst running team in baseball with all the screwups on the base paths..

  10. bassbaldy's avatar bassbaldy said, on June 26, 2025 at 10:38 am

Last night, on KNBR, everyone was screaming about Williams’ shitty job at 3rd. Then one caller pointed out the fact that a couple weeks ago everyone was screaming that Williams needed to be more aggressive and what we are seeing this past week or so, is Williams doing exactly that: being aggressive.

    • xoot's avatar xoot said, on June 26, 2025 at 11:11 am

maybe williams forgot that there was only one out and that holding lee would’ve given them two more shots at a walkoff. Inexcusable for that reason alone. Lee who’s a smart deeply disciplined player must’ve been appalled at the go sign.

      • bassbaldy's avatar bassbaldy said, on June 26, 2025 at 11:32 am

From the radio broadcast, the consensus I came away with last night was that BoMel sees Giants’ struggling offense needs base runners to be more aggressive and has instructed the coaches & players to do so. Thus, the results we have: failed attempted steals, and the obvious gaffs at home plate.

      • bassbaldy's avatar bassbaldy said, on June 26, 2025 at 3:54 pm

yep, you’re probably correct about the oversimplification. I’d didn’t see the game but read your post stating LFer positioning. I think you (or somebody) said Williams was looking in the wrong direction ffs!

    • unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck said, on June 26, 2025 at 2:28 pm

Way oversimplified, baldy. The LFer was at LEAST 20′ in from his normal spot. Lee was 5′ off the bag when the LFer made the throw. It was a SHIT throw and they still got Lee.

If Lee stays at 3rd, there’s one out.

Fucking retarded play. EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Off the bricks double knocked in 2 tie it up 5-5 on James Day getting firepower from both teams!

Yeah Thanks Loo …Fleming has bugged me for so long with his anal analysis scenario that never pan out.

  27. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck said, on June 26, 2025 at 4:23 pm

Well, the stellar pitching is hitting a bunch of speedbumps with Verlander and Birdland being the latest to be getting roughed up. The G’s are 3-6 in Birdie’s last 9 starts, and tit master has 0 wins in his time here.

Doval and Hjelle are firestarters, not firemen.

Beyond that, all we have proven is that any team can simply shut us down. Miami threw a 3-7 Quantrill at us, decent rook Cabrera, and good old Jason Junk and their ‘stellar’ pen to sweep us. At home no less.

3-6 against 3 sub-.500 teams is awful. Oh well.

When I get overly concerned they usually bounce back. When I get excited, they step in shit.

Hard to believe the Giants had a chance to take the lead. I’m getting tired of seeing bunts with a runner on 2nd and no out, which is what Knizner did in the 4th. Junk gave up triple-single-double-double, swing the damn bat!

  30. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck said, on June 26, 2025 at 6:02 pm

this is what I mean by fundamentally unsound. You dont bunt, for the e most part, before the 7th inning. Depending on score, spot in lineup, etc.

Like Marty having NO awareness where the LFer was yesterday or how many outs there were, or how he didn’t send Lee when the LGer was running sideways to catch the ball

Nothing like a nasty 10-game road trip to try to wash that stink away. Yeah, Charlie, several times they’ve looked like they were about to sink in the west but picked it up and climbed back in. This road trip could very well define the team for the rest of the season. Buster needs to heed a line from Talking Heads: “I have adopted this and made it my own; cut back the weakness, reinforce what is strong”….. There’s going to be some *tinkering* with the lineup while they’re gone.

    • unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck said, on June 26, 2025 at 8:39 pm
