At least we had two hall of fame Flappers manning the grounds yesterday. WillieD somehow looks younger now than when I met him 15 years ago or so.

Look at it this way, getting swept by the Marlins at home is going to be the low point of the season. Right? Right?

Why does is look like they are at the oakland coliseum?
OK, to recap: Birds did what he had to do vs. Lopez. I told SD Ramos had to be happy about it. Ramos unfortunately went 0-5 like Flores did. Birds got raked, walked a couple and threw wild pitch. Just didn’t have it, once again. SD had statcast distances on bomb from his phone–the Ramirez one I think went 440. Neither Bivens nor forgettable Hjelle helped.
giants ABs from bottom of order Koss Wisely Kniz were fine and Koss made throw from grass at 3b to gun down hitter. Yes bunt was odd choice at time but Yaz and Ramos blew it up.
Giants gave up 20 runs over last 2 games…pitching, not offense, will decide ups or down from here. Roadie includes ChiSox, A’s and pitching starved DBax. Room to grow runs. But hold the other guys down, pls.
Devers crushed one himself and almost got another to LF. Slusser says Schmitt is OK and he said he hopes to play tonight. Lee triple was comic misplay by Jesus Sanchez in Rf that shouldn’t have been more than single.
flores apparently had words with either pitcher (after fist pumps) or Marlins bench when he got called out on check swing to end bottom 7th. No one on Giants would say, other than Adames who came to his defense with Lee from on deck circle.
Too bad you guys couldn’t meet up with James…
Stix been awful quiet of late…
Odd game. It looked like pretty much every pitch that got raked was up in the zone, by all of those who got raked. Just way too much of that from the whole staff. And seeing on paper, Koss and Wisely in the lineup at the same time, I think ‘ugh’, and then they’re among the better performers in an otherwise ugh-ly game. That shot by Devers was beautiful. Big power from the left side, excellent, it’s been a long time… And great to see Flappers present and accounted for!
MLBTR says Carson Seymour up/Hjelle down.
Willedav, I saw the replay of Koss’ throw from 3rd, he has quite the cannon. Not even a bounce, delivered to 1st base chest high.
Koss is a good surprise ain’t he?
it’s June. Arms are already weak and the bats have gone limp. But we have two stud SPs and hope in the LU even before glove-first Chapman returns. I’ve never much liked hope. But when it’s all you got. …
who said Schmitt’s ok? How’s Devers? I’m not sure I want to see him do the splits reaching for a long throw.
Schmitt’s not ok.
Schmitt has a bone bruise and no further damage. He’s not playing tonight but he avoided an IR stint.
one writer quoted him as saying about his hand “it’s messed up in there”. So much for the hot streak at the plate?
gotta think The Sockman wants to do some damage tonight
Slater’s right behind him.
Maybe as LH he’s just glad to be out of Oracle. Had good 2 years with Cubs, doing well so far in south side of town.
the lame duck FO and Melvin dumped him in a trade for a guy the giants soon thereafter lost to a waiver wire claim. But stuff happens.
hard to believe June could be a must win but this team needs a laugher win in the worst way…
Another thought.. K&K have talked frequently about how much the Giants are being pitched inside, and hit so many times. Thankfully missed the game yesterday. Assuming we didn’t drill anyone. We should have…
Nah they did. with 2 outs none on in first, Birds hit Lopez in leg. Umps immediately warned both benches and Marlins manager came out of dugout and got tossed.
In a tight game and how are offense struggling be time they don’t need to drill a guy.But once they got blown out by means Drill, Drill a few..
Melvin is getting ripped a new one with his nonsense approach lately in his postgames remarks? Isn’t it up to the manager and coaches to light a fire under them? Bad enough to lose 3 straight against a bottom feeder who totally took it them, but if this happens to the Whitesox’s the Rockies of the AL who’s on a pace for 105 losses? That would be disturbing..
Pretty cool City Connect uni’s Whitesox’s have on imo..
their old outside ones were the best.
Leadoff Double by Ramos and you all know the rest 1-2-3 as Ramos never even got to 3rd.
Adames had his head up his ass. He misses the line drive and doesn’t bother to get in position for the relay.
Yep..And I cue Fleming &Pence we’re trying to give him a pass, maybe the glare? Yeah OK he butchered an easy catch and the hustling runner made them pay ..
3 hits and 4 walks in 4 innings and 1 run.
blehhhhh
Roupp Dee Doo is hanging that curve
still
and Adames is flailing.
another team as inept as us driving in runs?
Hoo is not at 1st.
Nona nono
Is that their plan with safety squeezes everytime with a runner at 3rd and one out and a slow Bailey? This play is getting old, swing the freaking bat.But of course Wisely hits it hard but right at the infielder as Bailey has to hold as Fleming chirps in any other Giant might have taken off? Yeah and be deadmeat!
Pence wow he says the Giants break open the game with those 2 runs to make it 3-1 seriously?? with 4 innings left?
that IS breaking the game open for this offense.
True as another 3 up 3 down inning continues..
rogers to Doval.
don’t know if I can take the drama.
we only have the lead because of a big fuckup by the RFer.
wow. 5 pitch inning for jolly rogers.
Oh yeah it will be Doval so tighten up your pacemaker and sweat for some Torture..Why settle for Rodgers and a clean 5 pitches when you can have 20 plus out of Doval..
Is Matt Williams coaching 1st now?
lol!
Just pathetic how much of a shitshow this team is on the bases..
Yay, no drama from Doval!
Whew. Put another one in the W column.
Doval can’t consistently get near 100 with his FB now. He strained to do it in that last AB. 96-97 is more common. And he’s relying on the slider. Got a bad feeling.
Yeah I guess Pence was right a break it open Win by 2 runs! Take the W and enjoy this one ..
Lookin’ good, guys. Too bad Pete’s Tavern is gone.
3.2 hitless shutout innings from pen after Roupp dodged trouble.
Pads lose and Marlins edge DBax 9-8.
