Hanging On For The Win

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on July 12, 2025

Well, there’s that third win I had hoped for vs the Phillies and Dodgers. Modest expectations, I know. With 2 games left before the break let’s get greedy. It’s painful to watch Devers run that dude needs some time off badly.

Devers really does need a break, he’s got one coming next week. Not sure 4 days will be enough, maybe sit him one of the next two.

Yeah I get it Mac, but it’s the fucking Dodgers and a chance to cut it to 2 games with momentum.Devers can take an extra day off for now are 2 after the break gets back.
It’s the same as Yanks/Redbox’s a bitter rivalry even if Devers doesn’t know enough about yet , he will in the 8 years.

Yeah, these games are definitely bigger than next week at Toronto.

Missed all but the end–what was Ramos problem–beside chasing high heat last AB?

Weird night with Lee fielding like Ramos but hitting like him too.

Ramos 3-22 all singles 0 BBs. Looks over anxious and chasing out of zone.

saw this from Jackson Merrill of Padres (.111 BA in last 15 games as of Thursday) in TA: “…I’m missing those pitches that I can hit before I swing at the pitches I can’t hit.”

No W Smith in lineup for Dogs. rook C Rushing in there batting 9th. SF same as yesterday?

Looks like exact same guys and order.

Heliot and Devers need a vacation…

Nice play by Schmitt. Roupp held them to 1 but will face top of lineup again in 3rd

It is BS Ohtani can pitch 3 innings but does not count on roster as one of LA 13 pitchers. Not to mention he can go right to DH and stay in the game even though removed from the field.

Roup looks to be a caining contender.

I’m waiting for Kruk to identify someone who’s afraid to hit with two strikes.

Two 2 out hits on an 0-2 count, last time to Kim who’d hit a lone foul ball with 5 swings and misses in 3 ABs.

Vamos! Line drive base hits up middle. Big boys coming up. Time to Go indeed

    Now or never.

Miller said Matt “wisely” held Bailey…

    Not good enough…

Two awkward swings from Chapman and a dribbler off of a hanging down the middle, above the knees breaking pitch.

Rogers must lead ML pitchers in assists.

wonder if there is a stat for weak-ass pop outs?

      • James's avatar James said, on July 12, 2025 at 3:25 pm

You can filter for launch angle and exit velocity. You’d need to define the threshold for weak-ass. For instance, D. Smith’s last pop up had an above average exit velocity of 96.8 😄

yeah, Sheehan kid was tough. Giants had ducks on pond.

Dogs had pounded Roupp in previous outing but he was tough today. Give him credit. Giants held top of order 2-16. Someone beside Tyler Rogers needs to figure out how to get freaking Conforto out, lol.

      • bassbaldy's avatar bassbaldy said, on July 12, 2025 at 4:03 pm

we usually don’t have to worry about getting Conforto out because, as he did a lot for Giants, he gets himself out. But, his bat has been coming around lately. Still only .185.

Yeah, I think Devers needs like 3 days off just to get right. Guess they are counting on the ASB.

  19. djloo27's avatar djloo27 said, on July 12, 2025 at 6:02 pm

    Skenes is starting the ASG.
Probably cut to Livvy in the crowd at least once per batter…

Dont tell me Matty fucked up again…

    • James's avatar James said, on July 12, 2025 at 9:58 pm

You could say that Bailey had a good chance to score on the Ramos single, but not good enough for the throw from center to be cut off. Had he taken the risk, maybe one or both runners advance, with Yaz on third and the score 2-1. But it’d be pretty harsh to describe making the less risky choice a fuck up in that situation.
