Cool Game
You know what, fuck it, just enjoy the game day to day. I’m hoping for over .500 by the end of the year. I mostly like this team so it’s not hard to root for them. Easily more appealing than the Farhan days.
Chuck, I had a ticket to the show on Saturday but couldn’t swing it. Would have been hilarious to run into you there.
In story about Ke’Bryan Hayes trade MLBTR said PNC is “the toughest park on right handed power over the last 3 years per Statcast’s Park Factors “
brewers swept three games from the nats this past weekend, scoring 38 runs, on 56 hits; one tweet I saw claimed 72 total baserunners too.
Brewers killing it lately. Giants get Nats at home this weekend.
It was a fricking madhouse, but a lot of fun. Went Saturday and Sunday.
Trey Anastasio came out yesterday and played a few songs with Bobby.
Fire on the Mountain was amazing.
Graeme Lesh as well. He brought out his dad’s bass.
I want to see the players who’re likely to be here next year get their final stats to a place that makes us pissed that they didn’t make the playoffs:
Bailey close to 600
Devers as far over 800 (Giants numbers) as possible
Ramos, Adames, Chapman as close to 800 as they can muster
Schmitt and Lee over 750
Hope Ray can still reach back for 96 in the middle innings by the end of the year and that Webb somehow regains the 94-95 four seam fastball at the top of the zone. Whisenhunt with an ERA under 4. Roupp picking up where he left off, ERA under 4. Walker gets the ERA below 4 with command of the slider again.
I took a first look at 2026 free agents. Every goddamn backup catcher in baseball is on it. I can see a new tandem behind the plate next year. The overall list of players is underwhelming. Probably an emphasis on trades, which seems more like Posey’s MO.
LLWS regional at 6 on ESPN has Portola Valley team in it trying to advance or stay alive. Saw story on them in SF Gate over weekend.
One of SPs is 6-1. Dad keeps to pitch limits and he does play elsewhere. Team photo is pretty funny, one tall guy/everyone else.
some 12 year olds get the puberty steroid surge, some have to wait.
Alright Portola Valley, Good luck 👍 ..Bet they’re probably more fundamentally sound then are a Giants …
Encarnacion over Matos.
the Oaxaca Wonder in RF — wtf. why not.
Well, he hasn’t done anything stupid out there … yet.
i played for Portola Valley little league back in the day before we moved to Palo Alto.
Our LL umpire liked to do cup checks on unsuspecting 8 year olds…
Mets questioned by former MLB executive for Tyler Rogers trade (msn.com)
Nice start, but how the hell do Lee and Bailey miss two hanging sliders like that?
McCray has been to plate 11 times. 2 hits 1 SF 0 BBs 6 Ks.
Adames has suddenly become a K machine.
Schmitt lucky there. Hope we take advantage.
nope
Radio guy (FP?) was remarking how Dom is one of few players who make old school 2 strike adjustments. Impressed with the Dominator…
Nice pick by Devers. Gonna be part of job description.
I know he’s our platinum glover, but every time I see Chapman wind up on a throw, I expect it to be off the mark.
Chappie not throwing well. Turdlander needs the K. And he ain’t getting them.
Do the Bartman.
Giants like tonight, often play bad defense behind Verlander…
Chappy had plenty of time after a great pick on 102 mph bullet no reason to rush the throw for his E-5.. Fleming with his usual excuse, saying Chapman’s hand has been taking a beating this year..Oh OK that’s a lame excuse..
Triple Lee!
Great call, Mac.
Nice shot by Lee off fastball at 98.
Yeah and huge 2 out triple for run like the wind.He was booking out of the box sniffing that triple..
Looks like Li has figured out something with the bat…
We execute
We win
Was that Wilbur that said that?
Good. Let’s hope Verlander gets win #2.
Yes.
How is 37 yr old Pham hitting .270? 1 year over .250 since 2019.
Verlander somehow gets through 5.
5 is about his max. He has trouble putting batters away, lots of fouls generate high pitch counts. But, 1 earnie given up over 5 is definitely OK these days…
I think Vamos made sure today’s run wasn’t earned.
Schmitt looking pretty good there at 2nd. Someone has to get McCutcheon out.
if the play at 2B is a hot corner like seed Casey looks great.
Seymour being Seymour.
Seymour HRs looks like a one inning reliever.
This guy Seymour is a give-up homer machine. He needs to go back to Sac…
Fuck. this ump isn’t helping. WTF with Chappie?
Jesus Christ is Seymour the most HR machine ever? 10 innings 5HR’s a freaking launch 🚀 machine!!
5 HRs in 10 innings for Seymour Hynies.
That’s a ticket back to Sac. Stat…
One inning too many for this stiff.
Bazooka Bailey guns down another runner to end the inning!
Bailey guns him down. R Rod only has to get 3 more. Insurance, pls.
Fuck. RR has got to get in the zone.
oooof. The hanging slider
RR needs to imagine this is the 7th inning. Needs to relax…
Yeah, just give it away.
Justin gets the nd. RR the loss. This isn’t working very well. Next up, Walker
keep ball down!
woooo fuck that. Seymour sucks, and RR is in over his head.
3rd worst team in the NL and we just gag it away.
RR probably won’t be available for the rest of this series.
That did not end well.
Randy a bit shaky as a closer.
Pirates are kryptonite to the Giants.
Bart does it again to his former team.
RR maybe needs a third pitch as a closer…
Joey Bart strikes again.
They have to replace Seymour. Giants don’t score enough to let a guy stay in the Pen who gives up that many gopher balls.
Pen blows it for Verlander — he takes another no decision…
GRR. I thought we traded Doval! Same result. Great stuff. walk. HBP. defense by Devers. A good throw vs high and runner will be out
I was hoping Verlander could chase 300. Zero chance with our team with lack of hitting and (i believe) the 3rd or 4th time a blown save has robbed him of a win
They said he hit 98 on the gun tonight…
And then hit 73 in the face.
