We have two lives …the life we learn with and the life we live after after that.

Suffering is what beings us towards happiness.

Kat I walked by the Carlos Club the other day, looked like about 5 dudes in there. 2pm. What are the chances one of them was you?

    • Flavor's avatar Flavor said, on August 18, 2025 at 11:11 am

actually maybe that was the Orchid Room

    • alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 said, on August 18, 2025 at 1:16 pm

I don’t go into that shithole BF it was good when it was called the Carlos Club, but it changed owners think it’s called The Rail and it’s overpriced on drinks, the staff sucks!

Yes OR (Orchid Room) is the best bar in San Carlos.Friendly Bartenders ( I know most of them)great drinks and they don’t skimp on the alcohol.Yeah it’s a typical dive bar, but they have a scuffle board, jukebox, pool table, fireplace, and it’s always decorated for holidays especially Halloween. They have a raffle for Christmas, including over night trips, Monterey,Napa etc plus plenty of other prizes and booze, and one gal makes her homemade cookies to die for.Just a family of great people to shoot the shit with And no other bar has been around as long since the 60’s so that speaks volumes

Giants last road trip to NYC and Pit went well. Padres stay in first place didn’t last too long, so they got some splainin to do.

Per Dennis Lin in Athletic, 0 HRs for Tatis Jr in last 97 PAs, and Machado has 1 RBI in August. They scored 6 runs in 3 games at Latrine and Merrill got hurt.Laureano staying hot though.

    • willedav's avatar willedav said, on August 18, 2025 at 4:45 pm

Merrill rolled an ankle over weekend but apparently could be back later in series. Former Giant Bryce Johnson batting 9th and playing CF per mlb.com. Giants facing another lefty tonight Nestor Cortes. Schmitt at 3b batting 4th, Flores DH 5thth, Lee 6th Koss 2b Fitz in RF Bailey.

      • willedav's avatar willedav said, on August 18, 2025 at 5:04 pm

Schmitt had 2 hits off Cortes in previous game at the O and 4-5 overall. that was one Ray lost, and Pads homered off him and Seymour in 5-1 L last Tuesday.

Whatever you want to say about the impact of managers, no team should have to suffer one as fucking goofy looking as Schildt.

    • xoot's avatar xoot said, on August 18, 2025 at 7:33 pm

he looks a lot like an old friend of mine, painter and boat builder. He built his own family home too on the cliff above the beach at capitola. Great guy.

      • James's avatar James said, on August 18, 2025 at 7:36 pm

I’m sure Schildt makes a better impression without the hat.

Just saw highlight of Devers HR and Giant dugout went wild. They’re into it and obviously like their new superstar…

  17. snarkk's avatar snarkk said, on August 18, 2025 at 8:03 pm

WTF Adames at first? More baserunning lunacy by the Giants. They don’t get enough hits to be just giving back baserunners for nothing…

    • James's avatar James said, on August 18, 2025 at 8:15 pm

Did you see the play? He was back in plenty of time. His foot may or may not have come off the bag for a split second. The ump was guessing.

  18. willedav's avatar willedav said, on August 18, 2025 at 8:23 pm

    Schmitt looks smooth at 3b.

    • Macdog's avatar Macdog said, on August 18, 2025 at 8:39 pm

      So much for that.

  19. xoot's avatar xoot said, on August 18, 2025 at 8:28 pm

Lopez is right. Ray’s FB has been weak all night but his command has been good. Maybe he can muscle up thru the seventh.

  20. xoot's avatar xoot said, on August 18, 2025 at 8:39 pm

uh oh. Is that two errors on Casey?

    • xoot's avatar xoot said, on August 18, 2025 at 8:39 pm

      yeah.

  21. willedav's avatar willedav said, on August 18, 2025 at 8:40 pm

I hexed him. More pitches for Ray.

  22. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 said, on August 18, 2025 at 8:41 pm

So much for Schmitt looking smooth.2error play for the run..

  23. xoot's avatar xoot said, on August 18, 2025 at 8:43 pm

    so much for muscling up.

  24. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 said, on August 18, 2025 at 8:46 pm

Wow O’Hearn crushed that, and just like that 4-3 ..Ray was on fumes and as usual Bomel tried to suck the tank dry and failed..

  25. Macdog's avatar Macdog said, on August 18, 2025 at 8:47 pm

Who were those imposters to start the game? Since then, it’s been the usual parade of squandered baserunners, K after K, a blunder on the bases, and now 2 errors on one play as the Pads are charging back.

  26. Macdog's avatar Macdog said, on August 18, 2025 at 8:56 pm

Bailey caught looking, check off another one.

  27. willedav's avatar willedav said, on August 18, 2025 at 9:03 pm
