One More Win And We Have Hope

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on August 30, 2025

I’m not gonna lie, I looked at the wild card standings this morning. Why not? Don’t cost nuthin’. The elusive dream of .500 is but one win away….And we have our great opener Carson Seymour leading the way today. I’ve never felt more confident in my entire life…..

The numerous bizarre pronunciations of Durocher I guess are indicative of an AI thing. I’m sure the guys here will know instantly…

Yeah, I have never heard his name pronounced like that.

The hunt for a shot in October is in the Giants cross-hairs. We know it and the Mets know it and Im loving it.

Putting him on a pedestal? Let’s see him perform in upcoming Tigers or better yet Philly games.

I texted the very same thing to a friend, Chuck. He does do a pretty good Timmy impersonation, fwiw…

Right foot in the air at the end sure looks familiar.

sheesh! Yep, Lincecum, first thing I thought of and yep, the flying right foot. Wonder if he was a Timmy fan growing up?

While the long term ADC contracts will loom for awhile, Posey has made some under radar deals that look pretty good right now. Btw Dom smith Lucchesi Butto and Peguero these guys are filling holes right now and could wind up sticking around. Makes scouting dept look pretty good, especially if Tidwell and Gilbert (still in search of first walk) or Rodriguez pan out.

Mets have rough schedule going forward that include Detroit Reds Phils Rangers Padres Cubs.

They dd win last night, lowering magic # to eliminate Giants to 22.

I remember when Matos arrived with the hot streak, a lot of the contact was soft. This looks different.

But those slides, it started as a joke, it can’t really be a thing a major league team has to worry about, can it?!? Is there a precedent?

    • xoot's avatar xoot said, on August 30, 2025 at 9:43 am

to be fair, the ump had no business being on the base line by the plate last night. Matos was perplexed as he approached. But a fucking barrel roll?

    • James's avatar James said, on August 30, 2025 at 2:11 pm

At least his bat swinging instincts seem to have sharpened.

Saw story about Yaz on ATF, so checked out stat line with Royals. .282/.370/.654 7 HRs in 78 ABs. Had 8 in 320 with SF, and .685 OPS hmmnn

    • James's avatar James said, on August 30, 2025 at 3:04 pm

The combined numbers are a typical season for him. A solid B- player who’s had a better career than most. Sad to see him go, but the calls to look to the future were on the mark.

Pollyanna? I don’t think so . . . Giants and any team that’s sub .500 should at least read and (perhaps) heed.

I refuse to pay the comical to monetize my personal info. So–is he going to sue? How will he evade the mlb arbitration kangaroo court?

      • James's avatar James said, on August 30, 2025 at 6:13 pm

He’s not sure yet about litigation, no mention of the arbitration court. It sounds like the kind of misdiagnosis the rest of us are subject to. Giants cavalier in their communications with him and then they ignored him.

      • xoot's avatar xoot said, on August 30, 2025 at 6:20 pm

well I’d say he’s fucked–workers comp and a small settlement– and if so that’s too bad. The team owes every player the best care and treatment, imo.
