Somehow, Some way
Is this really happening? How is this happening? Is it time to sign BoMid and his sidekick Pat the Bat to an another extension? Lol.
Is the $168 I spent on a ticket for the final game of the year now gonna start looking like an underpay?
Hopefully we don’t look back at end of year and rue 18 hour meltdown in shadow of Gateway Arch and back-to-back 1-run losses to Cards. As NJ resident, I can say chatter on social media in NYC metro area increasingly critical of Mets but I still don’t sense any real panic about Mets missing playoffs yet. Of course that could change overnight.
From our perspective, Giants must keep pressure on Mets. Win this afternoon before Mets take field tonight and hope Mets do no better than split next two in Philly. That would leave Giants needing to make up two games over last 2+ weeks (factoring in tiebreaker).
Melvin needs to shorten starting rotation to four to get more starts for Webb, Ray & (yes) Verlander. They’ll need five starters once next week due to no off day but otherwise should be 4-man rotation down stretch.
To me, biggest vulnerable spot remainder of season is bullpen, particularly closer. Walker looks like he’s pitching on fumes. Time for Melvin and JP Martinez to earn their pay by being creative with bullpen down stretch. Time to mix and match based on individual game situations.
Still longshot but the door has opened wider.
I almost packed my Orange October sweatshirt up for the season. Hell, I don’t even know if the damn thing fits me anymore, but for now, that thing isn’t going anywhere.
per mlb.com standings, Phils have the best home record in all baseball at 47-23.
Lot of unsung contributors last night, few of whom weren’t even on team out of ST.
Also per mlb.com since 4 hit game vs. Rox at start of month Gilbert is 3-19 over last 7. Does have 3 BBs but OBP so far is .261. Didn’t show much arm last night on throw to plate from RF that bounced couple times off grass.
Not the “Lone Ranger” Loco . . . I wish I could get the games, as StreamEast went pfffttt after geting popped by some international police/copyright infringement outfit.

A little over $1/game if you wanna see the rest of the season…
Seymour today, looks like maybe Verlander, Webb, Ray over the weekend.
I’ve gained a lot of respect for Verlander…
Me too, especially his last 3 starts.
Looks like it’s going to be a long day.
Yup. Reaping the whirlwind.
Oh, you’r’e talking about the Giants.
Giants as usual, being throttled by a lefty starter. They need to figure that out over the winter.
Get him outta there and maybe they’ll hit something…
Devers wakes up the crowd.
If Devers is going to be in SF for at least another 5 years, Giants need to think seriously about dropping down that high right center wall. Heck, ad some seats with the process. That double he smoked off the top of the wall is an HR everywhere else. Ridiculous that your home slugger smokes one that hard and doesn’t get the HR…
Medic! (ooops wrong blog)
Did Not Participate In Practice
DE Nick Bosa (not injury related – resting player), DE Yetur Gross-Matos (knee), WR Jauan Jennings (shoulder), RB Christian McCaffrey (calf, resting player), QB Brock Purdy (left shoulder, toe), T Trent Williams (knee, resting player)
Limited Participation in Practice
G Ben Bartch (knee, elbow), RB Jordan James (finger), WR Jordan Watkins (ankle)
Full Participation in Practice
LB Luke Gifford (knee), QB Mac Jones (knee), G Dominick Puni (knee)
Glad to hear Puni and Bartch practiced. They are now saying Purdy may miss a few games.
Didn’t really like seeing CMC get 31 touches, but with everyone else hurt, not a ton of choice there. I just hope B Robinson gets a lot of touches vs NO.
And we have to watch out for the Rattler . . .
I think the song is about rattlesnakes
Bummer to lose. On to the Dodgers. Must take 2/3.
$168 for a ticket? You sitting in the dugout, Flav?
That’s nose bleed price in NY…
I sold the rights to my club level seats back in 08. I forgot that they started to do different prices for different games after I left. Dang, that full season plan would’ve killed me if I was still in SF.
Now pitching for the Yankess — #29 Austin Slater.
2/3 IP 1 H 0 R. That was better than Doval tonight.
Mets lose.
