Now THAT Was A Satisfying Win!
Whenever things look the bleakest in the NFL that’s probably the time to be the most confident. We had Mac, a gaggle of castoffs, no Bosa, we’re in their yard…..yeah, we had them right where we wanted them.
I love Big Cock Brock. He’s my quarterback. But when I saw Mac Jones dry heaving on the sideline and gobbling down bananas and shit I beamed with pride. THAT is a guy you want leading your football team! For however long he leads it, they will follow…..
I really wonder now what would have happened had we drafted him and kept all those picks.
He kinda went the Alex Smith route with a lot of bad coaching after his first year.
Matt Patricia was his OC for fuck’s sake.
Rams fans wondering about red zone F ups, O line and special teams gaffes. Shanahan won this round vs. McVay.
I remember the suspicion was Shanahan wanted him, too, but the anti-Jones, we need a dual threat QB who’s a great athlete drumbeat was incredibly loud and persistent at the time.
I was one of them. I didn’t think Jones was the way to go. System does a lot for a QB and when you look at the records of the 5 guys in that draft, they all have losing records. I don’t really know how it played out behind closed doors, but the consensus was Lynch wanted Lance and Shanny wanted Jones.
Lance by far is the biggest bust given the capital to get him. But Zach Wilson is a close second as he’s not starting, and he was #2 overall. Lawrence is all over the place, and Fields is just bouncing around the league trying to find a safe spot to play.
Prolly here next year.
That was classic Niner hard nose football. We don’t usually win games like that very often but it sure is sweet when we do
What is crazy is this team could very well be 0-5 with a couple different plays, or 5-0, or everything in between. These guys have had as many laughers as the Giants did this season.
As an old Patriots fan (mostly from living there for 15+ years 40 years ago), I was thrilled they picked Jones, and (as I think I wrote here sometimes) believed he would be very good if not excellent. Then the coaching staff completely fucked him up. You’re lucky to have him. And actually, I’m not quite the Pats fan I was since that fiasco.
I’m so old I remember Babe Parilli…
Of the Boston Patriots. Chargers waxed them in one of the AFL Championship games. AFL was wide open fun league.
And here I was gonna throw out a Norm Snead reference.
Haha, yeah, I remember both Snead (Eagles too, I think) and Parilli…. good times!
Cubs scored 793 runs, 3rd NL. Scored 6 in 3 games vs. Padres, held them to 5.
Jim Nance was my favorite Boston Patriots player. That dude rocked. Met him at a function a couple years before he died. Sweet guy.
Mine too, Paul. Him and Carl Garrett (sp?) were deadly for a short time…
Yes, runners that were just fun to watch.
Amazing win! I thought when it went to OT we were toast. D line looked gassed with all the backups. SO fun! I live in SoCal and have quite a few rams fan friends. Today was a good day!!!
