A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Niner M*A*S*H Unit

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on October 13, 2025

Just disgusted and heartbroken with yet another critical Niner player who has been lost. It’s really hard to get so invested into your NFL team just to watch all the best players on the team get taken out, one by one.

Best part of that is the 49ers had 10 defenders on the field that play, and no DE in front of Warner. So they played their small part in getting him injured.

We are in Andy Reid territory. I mean really, this team under Shanny and Co has been top 5 injured 6 of his 8 seasons. And all this offense does is kick FGs.

Something needs to change. Yeah, guys get hurt, but injuries like Kittle, Jennings, and so many others are non-contact injuries. What is the deal?

When’s the last time Shanny actually threw a pass into the endzone for a TD try? I mean actually threw to a receiver IN the end zone, not short of it and hope for a YAK TD? Whether from in or out of the Red Zone? He seems scared of having his QBs throw into the EZ. The Niners seem almost unable to score a TD when in the red zone. You can’t win consistently by exchanging FGs for TDs when in the red zone…

This shit is so reminiscent of Harbaugh trying to make every game come down to the last possession. No chances deep, no risky play. Lots of yards between the 20s and lots of FGs.

I get that we are out of weapons without Kittle, BA, Pearsall, Jennings is banged up, but really, Tonges and Bourne are doing well and we should at least try to throw into the end zone.

Since we can’t run, teams are simply rushing 5 a lot, and putting Jones under pressure. He’s doing his part to hold on to the ball too long.

Until the pass blocking gets better, this is all we’re gonna get.

PS This has been my battle cry for these last 2 seasons.

another manager job open in NL West as Mike Shildt retires.

    M’s led 3-0 after 3 hitters. In 2nd inning it’s gone.

    Seattle up 7-3! Go Seattle!

And Jake Moody faces off against Deebo Samuel tonight.

Chicago has been looking for a kicker almost as long as they’ve been looking for a quarterback.

Moody hits a 47 yd FG for Da’ Bears, like it’s just routine, no big deal. LOL. Pineiro is so good now for the Niners, Shanny just wants to kick a FG every time he’s within shouting distance of the End Zone. Maybe the Niners were better off with Moody — Shanny would be more aggressive to get a TD out of fear of Moody’s failures…

Read two articles suggesting Nick Hundley has Giants manager job if he wants it. How does everyone feel about this? I’m a little underwhelmed.

JT Snow thinks Giants will execute trade with Guardians to acquire Vogt. Seems like very long shot to me – why would Guardians let great young manager leave – but I’d sign for Vogt immediately.

that JT xitter account is weird. Very brash for a guy trying to make it as a mainstream commentator. But the account may be legit. On his Bluesky account, Baggarly scoffed at the Vogt rumors, without mentioning JT by name.

Hundley’s main qualification seems to be he’s a buddy of Buster, plus he’s been around Bochy the last couple of years. Seems pretty thin qualifications to me, but Vogt was also completely inexperienced as an actual manager….

Not convinced either that Hundley should be the next manager. Every paper and outlet are saying he won 90+ games with San Diego. Big fucking deal . . . You could hire someone from the local homeless shelter to win 90+ games with that roster.

Me? I like the guy who got canned earlier this season in Baltimore (Hyde I think his name is). Anyway, he got canned in May after taking the hapless Orioles to 90+ wins in each of the 2 prior seasons. That team was soooooo fucked up for years, maybe decades. Giants need someone that knows how to get a moribund team (our Giants) to play good baseball day in and day out. Hyde or someone that knows how to WAKE UP a team is needed in my opinion.

Agreed, that experience does matter especially managing vs. pressure cooked AL East. Game has changed so much since 3/5 and even post 2021 of Posey playing days. Coaching staffs have exploded as has influence of front offices. Plus there’s ABS to sort next year.

Watching depth of pitching of teams in playoffs says Posey has work to do to get Giants there. D and baserunning coaching changes can improve but pitching is different story entirely.

Mariners have strong pitching. Up 2-0 going back to Seattle seems like a really strong position. If they continue to hit and score at all, they’ve got a big time chance to go to the WS, and win it…

Nick Moody kicks 4 FGs including the game winner as time runs out.

    Bears 25 – Wash 24.

The NFL in it’s infinite weirdness.

Willie, apologize, but I’m not familiar with that acronym ABS (except in an automobile context . . . lol). What does that stand for?

    • bassbaldy's avatar bassbaldy said, on October 14, 2025 at 9:23 am

Blade, I’m thinking ABS is Automated Balls & Strikes.
