The Monster That Is LA
It’s hard for me to hate greatness and that’s what we watched last night. Ohtani coming through. Freddie Freeman ending it the way he did. I will always hate LA but god damn what a game.
It’s also fairly deflating to see greatness come through the way it did. We love to celebrate the Dodgers when their absurd bloated payroll loses. But when it hits all we can do is sadly look at the gap between us and then. San Dawg has been talking about this for years.

Both pitching staffs totally out of whack as this was first of 3 games in 3 days. Opie got critical out in what might be last outing ever and reversal of post season foibles. Jays made Dogs work for it but came up short.

True. Betts (1-8) didn’t do much at all behind Ohtani…gotta wonder how teams will pitch to him/if at all next year.
Jays pinch running for their hitters was baffling as well, especially Barger.
Yeah, I didn’t get the Barger move at all. Running for Kirk I could kind of see and as it turns out, it may have saved him for today. I doubt that Smith will be catching after playing all 18 innings.
A classic that might have ended very differently if Toronto hitter had laid off ball 4 (on 3-2 pitch) with bases loaded and Vlad coming up. Jays up 6-5. Pressure on Kershaw huge. Bummer:(

That’s what pissed me off the other night. Ohtani is the ONLY (well, Freeman) guy hitting and you pitch to him with a 1 run lead in the 7th? The BJ’s could be up 3-1 but for that.
