On The Brink
This has really been a wild ride of a World Series. I’m headed down to Del Mar for the weekend and would love to see Toronto finish them off. It’s been awesome to see them fight back after that gut-wrenching Freeman game.

Bring it home Blue Jays. One more win. Would be very sweet to vanquish $350 million Dodger payroll.
Today is opening day of 2026 season for Giants. Tony Vitello introductory press conference. Intrigued to hear Vitello espouse his managerial style and Buster discuss search process leading to Vitelloβs hire. Undoubtedly Buster will be cagey about planned offseason moves via free agency and trades but perhaps we can glean some wisdom into direction front office will take to address holes in field and on mound.
Pitching and defense.
10/1/24 Posey was up there with Greg Johnson and Melvin. zzz
Still go back to LA playoff series vs. Phils, who held Dogs lineup and Ohtani to .199 BA with 2 strong LHP starters. Posey needs to give Vitello more pitching to work with, including pen.
thanks for music vids end of thread last night. Oct 30 1930 born day of Clifford Brown. Always treat to listen to his music during all too short career.
theyll seal the dome Friday against the elements. The bums will find themselves in another pressure cooker. Another collapse inning from them would be great. It’s one thing to be outplayed and out pitched but quite another to fall apart in response as well. Very enjoyable to watch.
Willie, I just saw a clip of Clifford from the Soupy Sales show this AM. Great way to wake up. Short career, but thankfully most of his recordings are still available.
Rare Clifford Brown Video from the Soupy Sales Show, 1955
flav, enjoy. Weather should be great and noticed Flavien Prat Johnny V and Ortiz bros and Joel Rosario already there riding today, with others due in. Caton Bredar doing interviews, hmmnn. Thanks for Andie B pic on your visit last year.
Caton Bredar probably saw Man O War run.
Miserable news on Unca’s blog πππ…
Thanks. Way too young.
Be pretty cool to see Gasman seal the deal with a game 6 win.
Or tomorrow, which I believe is the 15th anniversary of our 2010 curse buster…
Rather get it over with tonight!
Yamamoto scary and not because it’s Halloween. He is just fricken good and I hate him.
His time to be had is now.
’93 Jays won it at home game 6, Joe carter 3 run bomb off Mitch Williams.
Hey Loo, are you doing ok? Saw that some of NY, including Brooklyn, were flooded out.
I’m good Loco, thanks for asking. The flooding you hear about up here unless it’s a fluke storm surge like Sandy is usually caused by storm drains clogged and covered by fallen leaves that these lazy motherfuckers blow out into the gutters but refuse to actually pick up and put in bags. So the water backs up and rolls down driveways into basement apartments…
Glad to hear that y’all are ok. They get that clogged drain thing in New Orleans, and being below sea level it really sucks.
You’re a helluva good dude…
Kausman dealing. Needs to get some outs without K’s or he will be gone too early. Go Jays!
Ah hell, come on Gausman.
boo. Pitched around Ohtani and freeman and still blew it
Bichette made an outstanding play on that grounder behind the mound. A lot harder than it looked.
I am down with what unca said at 11:28am about getting it done tonight. I hope I am wrong, but the Bums are not to be trifled with. Like any snake, you cut off the head . . . don’t poke it with a stick. In other words, I think they have to get it done tonight.
if the BJs can get to the pen . . .
Ask and ye shall receive.
9th inning down by 2 – Let’s go Jays. Walk it off.
Double off Sasaki!
And he’s gone. Roberts going to Glasnow wow
wow. That was dumb. Ball stuck under the fence may have fucked the BJs. Ball rolls an inch and itβs 3-2 runner on 3rd.
Fuck, I really dislike Kiki Hernandez.
Jeez, bad baserunning ends Game 6.
15 years ago tonight…
Barger said he got “bad read” per CBS story. Doubt his manager benches him though, he’s too good hitter. Last game vs. Ohtani he went 1-3.
Irad gets BC win #22 as he goes gate to wire in Turf Sprint.
Toronto has sure looked pretty stupid through a lot of this series.
canβt say I did t see that. But ohtani eh t make it to 5 T this rate
phick my phone
Bo bye baby!
BO-OM!
Bo, my knee hurts so I’ll just yank it out of here!
It’s bogus that Ohtani is replaced but still gets to hit.
yyes he gets so many undeserved breaks from baseball.
Vlad, what a catch.
damn! Flashing the gloves.
Payback.
Dodgsrs are miserable cause their mothers take it up the ass
lol . . . You read my mind. Stop that.
God bless you. Stole that line from Joey LaMotta in Raging Bull…
dodgers getting the calls now
shit arm.
Yes! Smart baseball.
FUCK THEM!!!
Clement is having himself a fucking good time.
Fuck yeah, Vlad’s D!
Vlad is a terrific all around player. Infinitely more fun to watch than Big O.
as to pitchers and HRs, fucking Joe Blanton hit a WS HR in a game he pitched for Philly.
Mudcat Grant in ’65 for the psychotic geezers…
Not certain, but I think Charlie O gave him that nick name.
Nah, that’s not right. It was someone else Finley gave a nickname too (or other players). Grant was from Miss and a team mate gave him that name. I stand corrected.
You might be thinkin of Catfish…
now you’ve got me thinking of Vida and his refusal to change his name to True.
Yeah xoot, he was infamous for doing that. I recall the “True” moniker too.
Clement plays loose – just enjoying the game, never stressed out.
Bringing in Snell, time to tee off Toronto.
My love for Mattingly knows no bounds…
Come on you freakin’ blind ump
No fucking way.
fuck.
Hours ago bartender said Toronto in 12 innings…
Come on Jays, walk this thing off.
Lay down a bunt.
Fuck the BUMS!
Wow. Walk off time.
Sickening.
Motherfuck us. Raise the tariffs…
See y’all next year.!
So fucking fed up with the Dodgers. Cha Ching! Another WS bought and paid for.
If only the Johnsons wouldn’t prioritize the new Epstein Ballroom…
I told mrs. snarkk and the older snarkkette before the 4-3 9th started that I would never count out LA in that situation because they are cockroaches. So, of course, they tied it. Then, Jays choked the win situation in bottom 9th like the Giants with bases loaded and 1 down. I said then that LA would win. And, here we are. Roberts had to make the call there to either keep playing the infield in to keep the play at home in play, or back up to DP depth to make a DP and win the game. He made the right choice, Yamamoto got the double play ball to end it. Screw ’em…
Well, that sucked.
Love you guys. Wish you all the best. It’s only a game…
hate to say it but Roberts managing was what won it for them. Every move working around his crappy bullpen took guts. Bochy like.
Thanks Craig for keeping the blog alive another year! Have a great offseason everyone. GO GIANTS!
Thought going to Snell before Yamamoto would backfire.
Well, fuck. So it goes. If this is it for the Flap until ….. Spring?, then I will just say to all Flappers in Flap Universe everywhere, stay alive and well…. Always miss you lugs during the offseason.
Just another terrible ending season. It will make it all the sweater when the tables are turned. Have a great off-season everyone.
