Amazing Ending To An Amazing World Series
As much as I want to be mad about the ending it really was simply an incredible game. The Toronto manager came up ANT small with a couple of decisions including bringing in his average closer for a 4 out save. That was a decision he made to not get judged later–it was the safe call. I hate managers like that. Giving away an out when you’re down to your last 3 in the entire season was another lame decision.
It’s that time of the year again gents. Time to shut ‘er down. I honestly never know if I am going to re-start the Flap again come springtime. Right now I’d say “no” but I’ve changed my mind before. Eh, nothing lasts forever and if this is it we had a grand old ride here didn’t we?
Well, fuck. So it goes. If this is it for the Flap until ….. Spring?, or maybe finally just “it” for the Flap… then I will just say to all Flappers in Flap Universe everywhere, stay alive and well…. Always miss you lugs during the offseason. Aren’t enough ways to say thanks, Craig.
Amen to that.
Sometimes Roberts just lives right. Pages makes super catch, M Rojas is game saver off the bench. And unlike everyone else in baseball, he has WS MVP not named Ohtani in Yamamoto.
Say it ain’t so. Happy trails.
Let’s hope Posey gets aggressive and brings some needed position players and some contact hitters onto this roster during the off season. IMO, few on the season-end 26 are safe from being moved. I have no doubt they’ll reload the Pen, that’s a given. Need a couple of decent starters, too. These young starters have to prove themselves again. As for the new manager, he a crapshoot, but I like the move. Shakes things up. Happy Winter, everyone…
Craig, you da best! Thanks for another year of flapping. All Y’all, stay safe out there and go Giants!
To Craig and the entire Giants nation, be safe, be well, may the road rise up to meet you and may the wind always be at your back. Here’s hoping we reconvene on March 25, 2026.
I guess the old “stable boys” approach of managing the Flap way back when isn’t an option anymore….
Hah! That was fun.
Hey, at least the Niners won. Fuck the Dodgers.
Craig, as always, I’m proud to be a part of this group, I’m so glad we’ve been able to get together in really life (as my daughter used to say) and can’t really fathom how long this has been going on. I mean I think it was 2005 when I bumped into Twin and some of y’all on the Splash blog?
Unreal. Anyhow, whatever you decide, it has been a lot of fun. I still read the BBOTDs every few years for a laugh. There’s some gold in there!! The pics are cool as well.
Have a great rest of the year and Go Niners!
Chuck, I cleared my cache. Still can’t finish a post on your Niner blog. I’ve given up. There are so many WordPress bugs that happen out of the blue, I just accept them and don’t even try anymore to fix them. There’s a decent chance they’ll go away later as suddenly as they appeared…
You could always just try to create a new gmail account and attach a new acct to that.
Strange. It is crap but not usually that crappy. I have more problems with trying to get on thru my phone.
I don’t see your posts getting caught in the spam filter or blocked or anything. Weird.
Well, Bailey and Webb won Gold Gloves.
Ramos just missed his. Probably best, he’d probably drop it when awarded.
Nice to those two for personal kudos, but in the big scheme of things, so what? Framing is why Bailey won. It faces debatable value with the oncoming balls/strikes protest system. And, a pitcher getting a Gold Glove is IMO nearly meaningless these days where the sac bunt has gone the way of the dodo bird. Let’s get players who win the batting and RBI titles…
Mr Kotter gets GM job with Marlins … promoted from assist GM.
Zaidi’s chickenshit canning of Kapler a few days before the end of the season was my last straw, insofar as Zaidi staying as GM.
I always liked Kapler. Not certain why Webb had to publically air his demand “. . . for big changes,” where it likely gave Zaidi an excuse to scapegoat and fire Kap.
Give Kapler credit, he parlayed his firing into a nice Asst. GM gig, and now GM of the Marlins. I wish him success. Thanks for sharing BB!
Kapler certainly did more with less than MoTel had. Not a huge fan of Kapler, but that was such a weasel move by Farhan. I didn’t realize he went back to the Dodgers.
I always suspected Farhan was a ‘plant’. Interesting how he came from the Dogshitters, fucked around with us for awhile, then headed back down to the latrine.
Thanks again for everything Craig. I hope were back next spring but if not I’d tell everyone thanks SO MUCH for having a place to connect with all you fellow flappers!! Go Giants!
But how do you thank someone
Who has taken you from Cain on to Jung Hoo?
It isn’t easy, but I’ll try…
yer killin me!!!!!
saw that move at the Redwood City drive when it came out.
Many thanks Big,Flavor. The Flap has brought an abundance of joy to my life, truly! If I don’t see y’all next year it will be sad. But, yep, eventually, … all things must pass. In any case, GO GIANTS!!
I also hope to get down to Bisbee next time I’m in AZ (next Fall, perhaps)…..
