A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Unleashing Hell…..

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on July 8, 2010

Fun game. I tell ya though, this Posey kid,  I just never saw this in him. Hitting home runs? I just figured him for a Jason Kendall type….

Is it just me or does it seem like Torres and Franchez have lost a TON of hits over the last few weeks by hitting the ball on the screws right at someone?

Bad feeling about the game today but no biggie, we’ve already taken the first 3…..

I’ve just had it with our middle guys- Bautista, Casilla, and Runzler. Isn’t there anything worth trying from Fresno?

Pawlie, Runzler hurt his ankle swinging at a pitch. Bummie came in and struck out.

Stix – you’re from SacTown, right? What did you think of the King’s draft picks?

    • swickman's avatar swickman said, on July 8, 2010 at 2:30 pm

Chi, are you asking me? I think the Kings may have gotten the best pick in the draft or the worst. Given Westphal’s patient nature, I’d be willing to bet Cousins was a great pick.

I loved the Whiteside pick because there’s no risk to the Kings to get a 7 foot project – at least as long as they have Dalembert, Thompson, Landry and Cousins. Whiteside’s numbers were really close to Cousins’ out of college. They’ve got some big trees in the front court now. They desparately need a SG now.

      • ChiPower's avatar ChiPower said, on July 8, 2010 at 2:35 pm

Yep…was asking, Stix. I agree. But I do think Cousins will work out. I liked both picks.

  54. stixwiz's avatar stixwiz said, on July 8, 2010 at 2:32 pm

Mmmm. Really getting to like that NLC pitching. Some current, as of today’s latest RP/AB stats: Sanchez: .297; Torres: 280; Posey: 312; Huff the Magic Dragon: .353. That bunch sure looks Major League to me.

  57. stixwiz's avatar stixwiz said, on July 8, 2010 at 2:36 pm

Add Ishikawa to that RP/AB stat gang: At 22 runs produced in 55 at bats, he’s swinging at an incredible .400 level. NO FRIGGEN WAY should the Giants be trading for a first baseman. This guy has arrived!

  62. stixwiz's avatar stixwiz said, on July 8, 2010 at 2:38 pm

Yup, Trevor is just a shell of his once dominant self. Maybe today is just a bit of revenge for his hbp on Robby Thompson. Our great little second baseman was never the same after that hit.

  65. Del Mar Dennis's avatar delmardennis said, on July 8, 2010 at 2:42 pm

Why did we bring in Wilson with a six-run lead? I HATE that move. If he truly needs the work, throw in the goddamn pen.

  66. zumarust's avatar zumarust said, on July 8, 2010 at 2:43 pm

You have to keep your closer sharp. He needed to get into a game.

  67. stixwiz's avatar stixwiz said, on July 8, 2010 at 2:44 pm

Okay, so Wilson needed the work but the first guy gets on base. Is he gonna do the Sarah Bernhardt drama queen routine on us again with this six run lead? Ron Davis once did that for the Twins against Cleveland. Indians actually won the game in the 9th and Davis was there to protect a huge lead. Well, maybe not six runs.

Brewers down to their last AB. Wilson must be tired of the dramatic role. Milwaukee has now become the Giants personal bitch. Looks like we are 5-3 on what first looked to be a horrendous road trip. One win against the Nats and its a successful trek. But i’m getting greedy after that June Swoon and 7-game slump and want more than one against Washington.
