The Complaint Dept is “CLOSED”
Anyone got anything to bitch about? Wanna get something off your chest about this team? Detail all of Bochy’s shotcomings? Bash the line up? (cause you just freaking KNOW that Whitey’s gonna be in there today)……
Well, Freddy Sanchez, god bless him, proved to me that he can, in fact, hit a ball farther than 200 feet. Although that could have just been the thin air in Denver so the jury’s still out on that…..
That strikeout by Renteria in the first inning really had me doing a slow burn. Outside of that, I got nuthin’…..
ESPN Baseball tonight, John Kruk said that the way the Giants are hitting and their pitching staff he would not want to face them in the playoffs!! Finally getting some love from ESPN!! About time!!! Great, Great game, could not have asked for anything more from Dirtttty. Smart move by Bochy to get the new pitchers some time in a blow out. If it had been 2-1 or something like that I think he would have left Sanchez in there.
Where is the Return Counter for this toaster and also, can I get my money back for this fruit cake I got last Christmas without a receipt?
Oh and one more question “Who needs another Bat”????
Pat the Bat!
Kevin, Kruk, believe it or not, has been behind the Giants since about late April. When Ztis got off to a hot start, he said much the same thing. Now that the team is hitting, well, they ARE a formidable team in the NL.
The storm that rolled into Denver last night was from San Francisco. The Giant thunder of their bats, served notice. With clinical ruthlessness, first dispatching the hapless Aaron Cook, then by blowing away the high-flying Rockies offense.Dirrty blowing them away on his way to 7 consecutive strikeouts matching a 46 year old record held by the Great Juan Marichal.
It was a sterling display by the Red-Hot Giants.I was gonna whine a little about Freddy struggles of late .262/,320/.317 batting(can you still call that batting?) line, and then the little shit walloped one into the LF bleachers. All is good in Giant Land!
I can’t believe we haven’t fired Sabes yet. It’s his vision that has gotten us into this mess. That blockhead Bochy should be shit canned soon, before he wins and taints the manager of the year award. I don’t understand why we didn’t get rid of a starting pitcher to get someone who can sometimes hit but can’t play a lick of defense.
My god man, do you know how much we’re paying Whitesideburns? Hell I could sit on the bench for half that amount. Don’t even get me started on Ron fucking Wotus, what a waste of air.
We should be sweeping all these lesser teams because the Pads, oops I meant Pods (my wee fingers sometimes swell up, sniff) because they won’t lose.
Oh well, as I predicted, no WC this year.
Hugs to all.
Heh heh heh. Haven;t been to the Splish in a while . . .
Is chickenhawk still fouling the air?
Oh good lord
Dammit [Stamps foot], I forgot spot on.
If you’re doing the true soph, that’s “spot on right”
LOL!
Nice Soph impression.
Hugs.
Wait, you guys thought I was kidding?
I ended with Soph but I was including others I’ve read on the splash.
Bitch about a 21-5 run? Hell no! The boys are smokin’ hot right now.
Their play right now reminds me of that line in Bull Durham, when the team finally starts playing well, and Annie (Susan Sarandon) says, “…and for one extraordinary June and July, the Durham Bulls began playing baseball with joy and verve and poetry.”
That’s the Giants!
Went to the complaint department at Macy’s once:
Clerk: Can I help you, sir?
Ted: Yeah. I’m too short.
Hard to complain about much. Even Renteria. Sure an 0-fer with 2 s/o’s but he still drew 2 walks. Nothing came of them but…well…maybe I *am* too polly. Fuck it. Who cares. GO GIANTS
“You beat this guy easy last time.”
“He ain’t the same guy.”
Looks like we get to face the calm and composed Carlos zambrano on mon.
Awesome. Going to that game for Jerry tribute.
We should use Dirrty out of the bull pen more often.Last year’s no-hitter was his first start after a stint in relief, and last night came after a token relief appearance and it may have been his best game of the year.
Sounds like a plan
Win a bunch of games and the stats are sure to follow. With the Cardinals getting blasted last night their staff ERA dipped below the lowering one for SF. Now at 3.38, the Giants still trail Dago by a dozen points. Second in MLB right now. They are first in baseball in strikeouts and saves. Waaaay down low in walks allowed, however, with Drrrty (unhittable for the most part) leading the league in BBs. Giants rotation is best in the game in BAA (batting average against). Very few hitters care to face that loaded deck of five aces unless they are in love with free passes.
With last night’s offensive outburst, the Giants maintained their steady crawl up the ladder of hitting stats. Some particulars: At a respectable .410, the team is now 7th in slugging percentage. They are tied for 6th in their old bugaboo, on base percentage, with a growingly respectable .329. Tied for sixth as well in doubles with 192. Had Pablo gone Panda with that long, high fly last night they would have had 4 dingers and hit the century mark for the season. Instead, they are ‘stuck’ at 99, lodging them in 9th place in that glamorous category. Last season i think they finished at #15 and if my memory glands are not sagging too much, they may not have even topped the century mark in HRs.
Upmarket in a few categories, the Gigantes are now 4th in base-hits with 959. Racking up those safeties, SF is also 4th in BA with a quite respectable .264. In the all important runs scored category they are perfectly mediocre-middle of the road in 8th place with 479 tallies. However, their upward thrust recently has them a mere 3 markers out of 6th in runs and no more than 7 tallies from 5th in runs scored in a 16 team league.
It was the consensus among several regular posters going into the season that if the team could score runs at a middle of the pack pace, their dominant starting pitching should carry them into the post-season. Their current projection at the plate should land them in the upper third if not the upper quarter of NL teams by season’s end. With back-to-back shutouts of the Dodgers and the Rockies, their starting pitching appears to be up to its pre-season billing and then some.
Orange and Black late October riding one awesome Halloween Machine.
They’re also first in Quality Starts!
Where’s Whitey?
Torres CF, Sanchez 2B, Huff RF, Posey C, Burrell LF, Ishikawa, 1B Sandoval 3B, Renteria SS, Bumgarner P
Pretty stoked to get this mid-week day game. I never get to see these but I’ve taken a week off work and plan on taking in every pitch……
MLB power rankings
Rays

Giants
Padres
NICE
I wanna complain that I have to be at work today.
And why’s there no Whitey?
Speaking of the “Complaint Dept.,” I remember that Seinfeld episode entitled “The Cartoon” I believe where Elaine steals the Ziggy comic and has it published in The New Yorker. Something about a pig at the Complaint Dept. bitching he wanted to be taller. The Ziggy cartoon retorted with a pig of their own saying “The New Yorker is stealing my ideas.” Funny guys that Jerry and Larry David.
“No soup for the Rockies!”
I already stole that joke
OK, I’ll be the odd man out and say that we haven’t won it yet. Everyone, including me, is estatic about their current hot streak. But, that’s what their in right now. We all know what happens when the hot streak is over. Just a question if they level off or slump.
When looking at the Giants this year consider Huff, Torres, Posey, Burrel and Bum. Other than Posey and maybe Bum, who here predicted that shot of talent? Who predited Zito’s year? Noone. Very sweet. If Pablo could get untracked we could be golden.
Yes it’s only August but there’s no need to piss on the parade. When you saw ROCKY for the first time, did you leave the theatre saying “Yeah, but he lost the fight”?
I did. That was back when they still scored fights by rounds, not points. 8-7 Creed?
Rocky was robbed!
I cried at PSYCHO when Tony Perkins threw out the money Janet Leigh embezzled
I guess that can be considered a “Splashy” remark. I’ve noticed Chronicle writers using the word “splashy” recently and wondered if it was a subtle dig on some of the posters over there. In today’s article by Jenkins, he mentions that Posey is now in the discussion for RoY. But he writes “It’s an entirely legitimate arguement, but I’d imagine such a splashy accomplishment is the last thing on Posey’s mind”
And it *is* a “splashy” compliment because if he doesn’t win RoY, some on the Splash would say it was a disappointing rookie season. Sure, it would be great. But it already *is* great.
Yes, it’s extremely fucking important to be reminded of the fact that, indeed, there is *always* something to bitch about. God is good that way.
Here’s some really good and deserved news:
Buster Posey rookie of the month and player of the month in NL.
OK, try and bitch about that one.
What. Not the Majors?
Fucking slacker
I see ARod finally hit a…dubious 600th
Love the doomer take, after being wrong over and over and over :
“Who knew?”
If someone is looking for something to bitch about: watching the Pirate-Reds game and they have a little deal on Gorge Foster. 1977 league MVP. 5 time all star. Key part of the reds long run. The Giants traded him for some POS chump. I think Frank Duffy (SS). Don’t know if he ever played. Another Horace Stoneham special. Probably the only worse trade in history was Gaylord Perry for Sixpac Sam.
From Baggs: Dontrelle Willis is expected to throw an inning today in the Arizona Rookie League, Bochy said. He tossed a scoreless inning last Thursday.
Great, just what we need, a 14th pitcher.
They’re not going to 14 pitchers and you fucking know it. Room F, Denny Boy.
Yeah Twin, but tell us how you really feel!
Osf is botching about a trade from 30 years ago. That’s rich and it shows u how far a truly negative person needs to go to not enjoy this team right now… Also, osf please stfu and stop trying to instigate twin. He’s right, I think u are obsessed with him. I’ll be home in 30 mins to delete everything applicable….
And osf if u keep going with twin between now and when I get home you’ll be permanently banned by approximately the 2nd inning today
It’s been a fun year and every “polly” (the true realists, as we have seen the last two years) knows that they’re not going to win at an 80 percent clip the rest of the way. No one needs reminding, it’s Room A that does the teaching around here.
Jed tried the “who knew” route last year. In an earlier thread I honestly detailed my hits and misses for this year. Thought Panda would do more, Huff less. Other than that: *I knew* ( winning two of the contests is only part of the “proof”), how about (the collective): YOU?
Game time!!!
Fuck that! Foul ball.
How does a fucking ump miss that?
One batter in, and we already got it up the ass. I’m sure many here can empathize.
Ouch
Did Spit stop by for a ‘visit’, Dennis?
13 pitchers already had some payoff. Bochy was able to play a 7-0 game (at the time) as if it was a playoff nail biter. That can be important in Denver. This is a fucking team that had 11 straight hits a few days ago. So we got a 5 pitcher shutout last night and there are still 4 guys who didn’t get used.
Let me see. 5 pitchers yesterday. 1 starter. So there’s 4 other starters. So that’s..(5 minus 1 plus 4 carry the other 4 minus….) Yup that’s 13 pitchers!!
We got a few guys who will have that figgered out by dinner time Saturday.
in case it’s not clear to some of you, there are certain “dyad relationships” that I’m no longer tolerating here at the blog. Who tries to instigate who first will get taken into account and the first thing I consider when deciding when to ban someone. OSF, you are now on your final notice…….
And I’m not outlining which dyads are no longer allowed, you should all know by now…..
Don’t you EVER use the word “dyad” again!
Until after I look it up
Not crazy about running Burrell there . . .
I get it to stay out of the DP, but still . . .
Dyad?
There’s no ‘f’ in it. I’m lost . . .
STFU . . .
MFCS . . .
FW . . .
sure.
Dyad? I got nothin’
Wow. Jiminez missed by 1″ . . .
Chuck – I think dyad means a couple a whats.
Yeeeesh . . .
That’s a fucked up inning . . .
Kinda sloppy so far
Chuckles, your posts here are reminding me of an Andy Capp comic strip. His buddy asks him about his plans to open his own pub, wondering how Capp would be in dealing with the public. Andy’s response:
“Public? What public?”
Somehow, my male intuition was concerned about the Jiminez AB. Kinda felt that one coming. Could be a long day in Denver.
No in-twits on the Flap
Mooks? Couple a whats? Dyads?
WTF?
It’s uncanny how often a team scores a ton on a million hits, and gets zilch the very next day. Hope they prove me wrong.
Bumgarner is really gutting this start out, I’m impressed by that…. Wswin they ARE facing jimenez who is obviously lights out right now
Dyad: Sociology .
a.
two persons involved in an ongoing relationship or interaction.
Who knew it was book learnin’ day here at the Flap.
Ya, if you studied it further, it may very well be the big score comes against the #5 and then the next day is #1…
Thanks Dennis. Basically, I’m not going to allow a dyad to perseverate on eachother all day long. That’s another great word I use that, for whatever reason, not too many people are familiar with….
I bet Pawlie knew what the hell a dyad was. Shit, he probably used it twice in a sentence already today. If he were to correct our comments here on the Flap, they’d come back with more red marks than that kid got for chewing gum in Singapore.
Flog that bastard!
They do have Jiminez up to 72 pitches after four. That’s the good news. The other news is that MadBum will have to hang on by the skin of his teeth for another two or three innings. Of course, that’s what he has done so far.
I figured dyad as an acronym for something . . .
Time to break through this inning. At least get a run across . . .
Now that A-Rod got his 600th HR.Maybe ESPN can start a Panda watch. 40 games and 150 AB’s since his last HR June 15th.
Hardest hit ball by a Giant.
Chuck, u gonna get a fantasy football league going at your blog?
Anyone know what yr kruk and kuip started broadcasting for the giants? I think kuip started first, sometime around 1990. I can’t find it anywhere though
may help what your looking for…

See the last thread if you have interest in my MRI report.
Found this on Wike
Mike Krukow began broadcasting as an occasional color analyst for KNBR radio in 1990 and became a full-time broadcaster in 1994.
Wikipedia
Jesus bautista is just a fucking menace out there. He probably just earned one of his teammates a plunking… That’s for the info guys
Dennis is getting one started, Flav. . .
Yowza. Can’t believe they keep trotting this guy out there. . . .
Every dogshit outing I think it’s his last . . .
Is there a reason we r giving this game away, only down 4, with this mental defective on the mound?
That’s good news, Mike. Although Edd might be bummed he doesn’t have a Giants fan moving to the Empire . . .
Wildman is at it again.
Didn’t Mayor Newsom just declare a K&K Day commemorating their 20 yrs.?
In keeping with the “got it up the ass” theme exhibited early by that no-foul tip call on Torres:
Prop 8 was ruled unconstitutional by Judge Vaughn. [insert literally gay-ass smiley face here.]
His name is Vaughn Walker. And he’s gay. Also a tough judge in a bench (i.e., non-jury) trial. When he was a partner at the Pillsbury firm in SF one of his more notable securities fraud cases concerned shares sold in a racehorse. He was also the lawyer who forced the Gay Olympics to stop using the Olympics trademark name. He’s a republican. Like you, Dennis.
Bumgarner’s worst outing to date. Figures. He was game, but pitching at Coors has brought down skilled veterans at an amazing rate. One run and a lot of pitches forced in the next inning could give the team a chance. But this is looking like one of those days.
Hey Kruk…I’ve already reached my” Release Point” with Bautista!
For all that fucking angst, Bautista keep the score the same . . .
Yeah, Stix, I figured if Bummie could get through 5 only giving up 2, we’d be lucky.
Almost.
Time to grt him off the hook now. Get to their pen.
