“Money Wall” > “Money Ball”
I’m sure many of you have read Beane’s now-dumb book called “Money Ball”. Well, after we won the series I took all the pics and clippings I could find and I covered one of my office walls with them. “Money Ball” is nice. “Money WALL” is better. Too see it better, double click on it. My favorite headline was the one near the bottom that says “So Close Now”. My ticket to Game 1 is at the center of the clippings. The picture doesn’t capture it all, I’ve got some schwag to the right that’s cut off…….

Magnus, very collegial of you to share your colossal collage. And I like your witty wordsmithery.
It rocks!!
Very nice. I especially like your Game 1 ticket as an added touch.
You’re manical. Manical
But I love you Big Flavor
Fucking GIANTS!!!!!
maniacal. i think the word you’re looking for is maniacal. spelling has never been your strong point but god love you because you’re damn hilarious. And while i can’t claim to love flavorous maximus (yet), I do love the flap and yes the splash too (room c?).
and yet, i golden bask.
or perhaps it’s
and yet, I, golden, bask.
pawlie will know.
either
or
both
work for me, lowercase e ewisco
works as an adj. for “I” and as an adv. for “bask”
As much as I prefer lowercase, BASK should be capitalized.
MLB network Prime 9 show had their 9 worst trades in MLB history. How do no Giants trades make that list? No George Foster, no Gaylord Perry. Come on now.
Sweet Ass Display Flav! Rockin the Office Wall!!
That’s cool Flav. Funny, back in 1981, a group of friends and I would go to Niner games, and watch the away games together. I got the bright idea to hang up every monday sporting green on the wall at the beginning of the year for for reference after the game. It turned into a shrine to the Super Bowl run. Good stuff . . .
The reason I did this is because it’s something I wouldn’t have done growing up. I know everyone else did this, it just wasn’t my thing. But now that we’ve got HD and digital everything I’ve started to appreciate the simplicity of the newspaper—-what I never thought would look cool before, now I think looks pretty cool. Dig?
Newspapers still carry the gravitas of HISTORY. The 2010 champion Giants are part of baseball HISTORY now. No one can ever take that away.
We are the champions, my friend.
Well, my friend had a decent sized shed in his backyard that served as a party spot/music room/hangout spot/sports watching room. It helped to hang shit in there . . .
Who are the people wearing the tiger stripes?
fuckin Princeton alumni fucks, I think
They’re Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat!!!
Hahahaha!!!
Webcams went out to Ted, Blade, Dennis…
Well, I did get abused into doing the traditional dinner tomorrow. Now that it’s set, I’m looking forward to it. Cheated and bought the pumpkin pie…
Nice looking wall, Craig. They’re even pretty straight. Good job…
Pablo appears serious about getting in shape, he’s signed on with “Triple Threat Performance”, a fitness group out of Tempe. He’ll work all winter, this as per Schulman..
Thanks, twin. Yeah, you mentioned yesterday you were going for a 16 lber as opposed to a 24 so I was assuming you didn’t mean a crab.
Triple Threat Performance has a pretty impressive client list
I need a quick answer . . . I need to know where I can get some Giants swag (e.g., t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc) in the Sunnyvale area. I’ve already been to SF and wont be heading that way before the end of my trip, so the Giants Dugout store at the stadium is out. Does Big Five or Sports Authority carry Giants stuff?
Thanks . . .
There’s one in Santa Clara as well: 2855 Stevens Creek Blvd
There’s a great giants dugout store at Stanford shopping center– it’s probably 20 min from where u are depending on the road u take
Thanks Flav and Ted . . . I also did a quick check and I see that Sports Authority carries gear too, besides the Valley Fair and Stanford locations.
Thanks to whoever gave the link for the Tom Verducci essay at SI.com yesterday. Superb. Informed. Moving. Even a Yankee fan friend was brought to tears.
your welcome.
They just had Verducci on KNBR. Read a couple of his passages. Sounded great on the air as well.
I ended up going to Sports Authority and they had quite a few of the Giants apparel for half off . . . I ended up buying this sweatshirt
http://www.sportsauthority.com/product/index.jsp?productId=10849913&cp=10901416.10901427&parentPage=shop
For $22, that was regular $54 (My mom cracked me up and went to the store after I got back and bought herself one).
Oy, such a deal
$27 is half off, but who’s counting?
Umm . . . Be glad I wasn’t part of the engineering/scientific team that sent a man to the moon (sucker would have hit the sun).
But it was $22 . . . despite my errant math.
40.7% off
Um, try again. $22.00 is more than half off of $54.00
Let’s say 60% . . .
73.8% off
Henry has the Cactus League schedule up. As this quote shows, he’s now understanding that there is a large Room B contingent on his blog. So kind of him to explain things for them:
“The Giants don’t have an opponent for Saturday Feb. 26, the second day of the games, so it’s called an off day”
*That* is funny. The only worse thing he could have said was “Bear in mind the first game is Feb 25 so there will not be a game Feb 24”
I watched the Clint Eastwood movie Invictus last night. I have no fucking idea what the hell is going on with the game of rugby. I don’t get the rules or objectives but I suspect a Dirty Sanchez is involved in those big group hugs that periodically happen. Apparently the movie was based on a true story but other than apartheid, Desmond Tutu, Neslon Mandela getting shafted for a major portion of his life and then becoming their President I don’t pretend to know too much about South Africa.
It was a pretty good flick though and a good illustration of the tranformative powers of athletics. I give it a thumbs up.
That is without a doubt the oddest recommendation for a movie I’ve ever read.
I was going to go on a rant about East Coast bias and expand on the tranformative powers of athletics but thought better of it.
I have not seen any comments on Henry S on SFGATE article
Sabean continues to discuss trades for shortstops. Boston’s Marco Scutaro and Tampa Bay’s Jason Bartlett are thought to be available. The Giants really want Arizona’s Stephen Drew, but GM Kevin Towers will not deal him. Another possibility is Jose Reyes, whom the Mets seem willing to trade as they seek payroll relief.
The Giants could give Emmanuel Burriss a shot.

Chi, just sent me a Snoopy cartoon with this thought to ponder . . . http://us.mg5.mail.yahoo.com/ya/download?mid=1%5f364593%5fANxSimIAAUlTTO2vlgnsHlygkW0&pid=2&fid=Inbox&inline=1
For someone reason I can’t open it, blade. Here’s a Peanuts cartoon that used to be all of us until 2010:
http://comics.com/peanuts/2009-12-17/
It says, “Just think if the Indians had given the Pilgrims a donkey instead of a turkey . . . We would all be getting a piece of ass for Thanksgiving Day.”
ha ha ha
Night all, I’ll be up early. Did some of the fixins tonight, gotta clean house a bit in the A.M. Sleep well…
G’night all
