The Ring Game…..

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on April 9, 2011

Those are some good looking bad boys, aren’t they? I think Ishikawa was dressed about as appropriately as possible. I really wish they had surprised us with Molina at the end. Anyway, good stuff……

Twin might have deleted a comment and that sometimes can throw off the thread. The last one is messed up so this one will be our game time thread…

Nice job all around. The gold lettering looks good to me.

Sometimes Kruk & Kuip bug me a bit but the tuxes with the tails were a nice touch. Funny.

    Go Giants!

Dirt, I also liked the comment about wearing the uniforms with “World Champions” on it. Those guys kill me . . . 🙂

Yeah, that was hilarious. First and last for those jerseys.

Actually I was off the tuxes and as long as the gold jerseys are a one time thing Im cool with it. Loved the “ring progression” thing. The ring from ’22 looks like it’s made of leather, lol

Yeah, they seem like the perfect size too . . . I hate those Superbowl ring monstrosities they come up with – look good on offensive and defensive linemen, but are laughable on punters and scatbacks.

I still say Kuiper blew the call when he said “for the first time in 52 years the Giants are World Champions.” I know what he meant, but he was still dead wrong. Has he ever commented on that?

I already got my “ring” at Finnerty’s in NYC on a bitter cold January day.
Actually it was a one of a kind pin that Bow-Tie personally pinned on me (like a prom date) at my request.

    • PawlieKokonuts's avatar PawlieKokonuts said, on April 9, 2011 at 8:21 pm

Well, one of a kind as in they were made for that day only. It’s a great pin. Black with orange NY & SF logos and the corresponding championship years 1954 & 2010. Bow-tie was most accomodating.

Sometimes it pays to take a nap when you’re beat. Had been cutting wood and then piling same all day. Pretty bushed, so i lay down on the couch and conked for awhile. Woke up and headed for the computer room. Checked in on Yahoo’s MLB coverage. Cain had just shut down the Cards in the fifth. Next thing i knew Pat the Bat didn’t get on by the bat, Miggie singled and MDR came through with the single i was wanting after Row-Row reverted to form. Inning closing out with the Horse was fine. Way he’s pitching no need for him to run the bases right now anyway. Main thing is he finally has him a lead to work with. Yes!

I like that WS ring raffle [for charity] the Giants are holding. I will definitely enter. And again, for NY State Lotto I played

    5 10 21 22 33 54

Baggs had a good line: “RF Lance Berkman gets all Huffy in right field,” to describe how he handled MDR’s hit.

  21. zumarust's avatar zumarust said, on April 9, 2011 at 8:35 pm

I guess it must have been a 1905 flag. It sure looked like a 1906 flag. But that wouldn’t make any sense. The White Sox defeated the Cubs in the 1906 Series.

    • DJLoo's avatar DJLoo said, on April 9, 2011 at 8:37 pm

It is Zumie. Despite a suspect bullpen, and shaky defense the 1905 Giants did manage to win the WS.

Last night I watched that marathon rain-delayed Dodger game. You could hear the mystification in Scully’s voice when Uribe struck out on a pitch about a foot off the plate. Uribe can look horrible for three at-bats, and then hit the game-winning homerun. But he’s just not a good fit with the Dodgers.

One’s gotta hand it to tonight’s well-deserved winning pitcher, Ramon Ramirez. That lil’ dude’s been nothing but golden since Sabean pried him loose from Boston.

Trajectory is looking a lot better now than at this time a year ago as the team now has a .500 record after eight games. Tejada provided that one key hit tonight which had been lacking since DeRosa’s in the 5th. Otherwise, opportunities were still being lost.

At this point it would appear that Sabes has once again struck gold in the Tejada pickup. He may be limited in range at SS and getting a bit long in the tooth, but the dude is clutch and now Giants fans have a new love. Miggie won his spurs tonight when the chips were down. New hero every night ~ we can live with that.
