Tough Game
Mike Stanton has a pretty imposing swing, doesn’t he? I don’t find Gaby Sanchez to be the force the broadcasters do. He’s having a nice little streak to start the season. But Stanton, that dude is a Man-Child. When you look at Florida’s LU, it’s a big reminder to us of what we DON’T have. We don’t have a single player who offers the type of power that several of those dudes do…..
And if Nolasco can shut us down like that I shudder to think of what Anibel Sanchez will do on Thursday. At least we get a break with Volstad. He’s a big son of a be-atch. but he’s a pretty below average pitcher…..
Is Huff not seeing the ball? Does he need to visit an optometrist? Is Bochy not aware that he is putting waaaay too much pressure on him in that 3-hole rally-killer spot?
Prediction: Freddie Lewis or Edgar Renteria will figure in a Reds victory over Philly, now entering 15 inning.
I said earlier itz ridiculous to keep Huff in the #3. He’s killing the squad in that spot right now. I don’t care if he hitz a tater next AB. He’s got to be dropped down…
Well they can’t do it during the game…
Fricking Tejada kills the next rally . . .
You watching this on tape delay?
They’re blaming Burrriss on a wide throw in the dirt.Unfuckingbelievable..
What would Jesus do?
Clown to Pear if you’re scoring…
Rowand made contact. Betcha that earns him a start tomorrow.
Doubt it.
Fwoof. “Out at the plate”. Nice to see Florida fucking up in their baserunning. Can the Giants possibly advantage this?
Cody with a really nice throw out at home. He’s a keeper. I can’t imagine what Burrell would’ve done with that…
wow, if that was the first time you had seen romo pitch.
what an inning
now would be a nice time for huff to show some stuff
That 3-1 pitch to Ross was nowhere near a strike, way too low…
Epic game going on in Philly. Bottom of the 18th now.
I would not let Lopez pitch to RHs…
Big road trip coming up after Giants face Anibel tomorrow. Three in Brewtown and four under the Arch (another brewtown), though the only brews known to come outta those places are what i call ‘television beer’ ~swill so bad they hafta advertise the piss outta the stuff on the boobtoob to get the boobs to swill it. Way they been hitting tonight Giants will lucky to win 2 of seven on that trek. Milwaukee has been pretty hot lately and the Cards can be plumb nasty at home.
Is it true that Huff has a bad eye infection of some sort or another and will have to go on the DL, with Belt getting the call? Giants seem to be getting all kindsa weird injuries this season. Happening to some of their best-paid players too.
What’s wrong with Old Milwaukee?
Tempting fate to keep Lopez in against Stanton…
Fate bites. Bochy blew that. No way Lopez should have pitched to Stanton….
Shit
I think Ted can start heading home now.
Wilson Valdez, a guy who has never pitched in a professional baseball game, just pitched a scoreless inning against the Reds in the top of the 19th. Crazy game, this baseball.
Sabes will need to make several moves before the deadline. Itz long enough now to figure this team, for whatever reason, is not going to average more than 4 rpg, if that. A bat, maybe two, are needed. When they go against a good offensive squad, the pitching staff has to be perfect to win the game. After a while, thatz going to be too much pressure…
and Baez the phillys 8th pitcher of the night pitching before Valdez threw 5 innings
Phillies have loaded the bases. Valdez has a chance to be the winning pitcher.
Well, you did say something first this time, credit for that,Snarkk– but they had already used Romo and Ramirez. The choice was him or Mota, who went two last night. Don’t say Runzler or Affeldt.
Romo was lights out, shoulda played the hot hand and kept him in, it was pretty much LH/RH coming up in the 9th. No, I’m not saying Runz or Affeldt. I’d go with Mota anyway, aren’t RHs hitting over .3oo off Lopez?, and Stanton is a freakin’ animal right now. Casilla needs to be up ASAP…
In other words-Lopez was the only choice…
They don’t need and won’t make big changes_Panda back, a LH bat off the bench, Belt..outside chance of SS trade..
Anyone got Valdez on their FL staff? He just got the win.
Don’t know why he was swinging 2-0 at that pitch, but……..
The G not so hot against teams outside the west
Do the Freddie!!!
I’d PH NO Whitey for Huff.
That’d guarantee a loss…
Awright, Huff n PUff, prove me wrong…
Holy motherfucking shit!
Heeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YES
Huff yeah!
He proved me wrong, AND loving it!!….
They could use Ford now as PRer, too bad with that bad wheel….
Me too. I had 4 first basemen from Fresno replacing him.
19 innings here we come…
Damn, we all did. I was gonna suggest Dirrrrrrrrrrrty.
This squad is freekin unbelievable. They can’t hit worth crap, but manage to battle in the late innings like itz just a normal thing. If these guys get back to the playoffs, that mindset is gold…
Nice shut-down inning from Wilson. Keep the momentum going.
Please win this now. That Marlins’ 1-5 has been murder.
At least Hanley’s out of the game. I have no idea who the Marlins TV announcers are, but they’re on top of the game, relatively impartial, and not the least bit annoying.
Could be imagining it-sure seems like Wilson gets the bottom of the order a lot.
Maybe this team should just play 2-inning games….
Another “it sure seems like” . . . Schierholtz gets a hit every time with 2 strikes.
Love it when they get the bunt down on the first pitch. Nice job, Manny.
Burriss has definitely upgraded his offensive skill set. Nice bunt…
Hi Flappers . . . just got back from SF a few hours ago. Tight game I see . . .
You were expecting…?
LOL . . . no shit . . . same o, same o with the GMen.
By the by, you and your’s alright Bozo? Went through the posts, but wasn’t certain after reading your post about the “Green, Orange, and Red Tags.”
The tags are worse case Blade. Orange is batting second (that’s us). We’re good man, I just haven’t had much sleep lately AND would love a win right here.
OK-Huff fucked up some fine bitching-back to Miggy..
Fun fact: Wilson Valdez is the first position player to earn a win since Rockies catcher Brent Mayne on Aug. 22, 2000 vs. the Braves.
Let’s hope we don’t have to witness another one tonight. I do believe the Clown has pitched before.
Huffing and puffing
Nice one Huff Daddy
Ah, that’s the Wilson we know. (grin)
Oh yeah Mr. Fred, let’s get that run now Giants.
Nice D all around. What a super catch by Huff.
OK, some might not understand this- but I often wonder how life would be without Brian Wilson 😉
Less wins, less Pepto?
That Stanton kid is scary good for his age. That last out was a bullet, nice grab by Franchez….
welcome home Blade, looks like Ted caught some of your mojo at the game tonight.
Thank you Ed . . . Sheesh, I hope I didn’t leave that type of mojo with Ted though. Did his foot get bent backwards?
Blade, the replays didn’t look like a backwards bend, but the ankle got rolled over with a lot of weight and velocity.
Last time Valdez (phils winner tonight) pitched was 8 or 9 years ago in the Dominican league.
Oh no.
Ahhhh crap.
Double crap.
Hope itz just a sprain.
I think the Giants don’t need any more evidence that Posey should not be catching for the duration of his Giants career…
No one said the duration of his career. More than one full season wasn’t too much to expect.
Mota looks menacing in the on-deck circle…
Huge crap.
Get em tomorrow Giants.
The game seems meaningless now…
Do we wait for the MRI or start the trade proposals right now?
I figured the Giants couldn’t escape another season without some injuries.
But, this is gettin’ freekin ridiculous…
Niteall…
Fresno airport gonna be busy tonight.
Hoping it looks worse than what it actually is . . . I have to say this though – Posey is a catcher and that’s where we need him when he returns. Having him at first or another position is ok for when he needs a rest. Actually, ALL catchers should get at least one day off a week . . . and most do now-a-days, but catcher is his position and what happened tonight comes with the territory. It looked like a “bang bang” play and I can’t fault Cousins for his hard nosed play.
Whiteside will be fine . . . I saw him at one of the games I attended (May 12th) and he hit two doubles; plus, he called an excellent game with Cain winning.
Anywho, that’s my thoughts on it . . . Good night all.
Yeah, it’s what BF said the other day- Posey’s numbers on offense are good for a catcher, but they would be pretty pedestrian for a firstbaseman.
He’s much more valuable to the Giants as a catcher.
