A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Why Don’t we See More Salary for Salary Trades?

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on June 20, 2011

I think Mr DJ Loo has taken over Bagg’s Blog. His Soriano/Zambrano for Zito/Rowand has his finger prints all over it. Of course, I don’t see any team ever trading for Zito, regardless of how much salary they get to dump. About the only way I see a trade like that going down is if the Giants paid most of Zito’s contract, too. And that would just be idiotic. Plus, Sabean would never take in a lunatic like Zambrano……..

Why don’t we see more of those bad salary for bad salary deals? Does it ever happen? I can’t think of any. The only two reasons I can think of is that most of those high salary guys have no-trade clauses and they kill the deals and/or GM’s are afraid of how the  deal will turn out. Not only do these GM’s look like idiots for giving out mega-deals that fail but can you imagine how dumb they’d look if the bust player they traded turns it around on his new team? That would be *double* the reason to fire you. In fact, the Angels GM, Tony Reagins, is probably looking at the unemployment line at the end of the season if his mindblowingly stupid acquisition of Vernon Wells continues to look as bad as it does today……..

Dude, there’s no way hers was worse. Look at it. Sadly, I think I ate a few bites of that bad boy….

I forgot how bad yours was. I’m telling you, hers was about the same. I remember you busted out some Nigel Tufnel “is this a joke?” when you first took a look at that thing. At that moment I knew we’d be lifelong friends.

haha, I DID drop a Nigel Tufnel line at that moment. Shit, that was fucking gold, right? THat whole day was gold dude, it was the Posey game, there was a Flap connection, bad hot dogs, beers and the last seat at the top of the upper rim?
In fact, let’s enjoy the moment right now….

OK, let’s suppose you are going to make a deal to help the Giants…who do you want and what are you wiling to give up?

Loo raised an interesting point this morning that I have been thinking about ever since…is Hanley a better fit than Reyes? Reyes leads the league in triples and BA in a pitcher’s yard, like ours. Couldn’t he do the same thing here, and steal bases? I think blade said something the other day about him being a “set up” guy, that might rot on the bases once he did get on.
Hanley, on the other hand, has 20 HR pop and is a middle order bat (when he feels like playing). He hits third, and you have huff ross panda around him. He can still yank the ball out of ATT on the dead pull, and if you put guys on ahead of him he can drive them in.
But seriously, two guys that hit .200 (belt and crawford) plus a reliever whose ERA was 6.75 when he left ain’t gonna cut it. Hell, even the Giants don’t know if they want any of these guys on the mlb roster, including rowand..

used to share an apt with a cousin and his buddy in the 80s who were addicted to wrestling, so I saw a lot of it, even the “Lucha Libre” on the mex channel. some of it really was pretty funny, the rest just mind numbing inanity. Sad that so many of these guys have abused the roids etc. and checked out at an early age.

Look, this. This miniture bread, it like… I’ve been working with this now for about half an hour and i can’t figure out… let’s say I wanted a bite, right. You got this… Exactly. I don’t under stand how…Well, no… then it’s half the size…Yeah, but then it breaks up. It breaks apart like this…But if you keep folding it, then it keeps breaking…and then everything has to be folded… and then you have… this. And I don’t want this. I want large bread, so I can put this…so then it’s like this. But this doesn’t work, because then it’s all…Look! would you be holding this?Alright, A. Exhibit, exhibit A. And now we move onto this… Look, look; who’s in here? No one. And in here, there’s a little guy, look! So, it’s a complete catastrophe! Look… no, it’s no big deal, It’s a joke… it’s really… it’s a joke. It’s not going to affect my performance, don’t worry about that. I just hate it… it really, it does disturb me, but i’ll rise above it; I’m a professional.
