Pence I’m used to swinging at shit 10″ off teh outside corner, but Posey is looking foolish so far.

They are all hacking at shit.

Minus some bullshit calls, Vogie is settling down.

When did James Woods start announcing?

  6. Macdog's avatar Macdog said, on October 9, 2012 at 4:11 pm

Nice 1-2-3. Can we get a fucking hit now?

  7. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck said, on October 9, 2012 at 4:16 pm

Wow. The strike zone is 8″ across til now.

  8. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck said, on October 9, 2012 at 4:16 pm

Great AB by Belt, and the ump screws him.

  9. blade3colorado's avatar blade3colorado said, on October 9, 2012 at 4:17 pm

    No shit . . . It’s been . . . umm, almost 3000 miles away and 2 days since our last hit.

  10. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck said, on October 9, 2012 at 4:21 pm

What the fuck? Bailey is a middling pitcher, and he looks like Don Fucking Drysdale. Is he throwing 98 MPH?

    No.

Wow. This game is lost if this is how we are batting.

  11. blade3colorado's avatar blade3colorado said, on October 9, 2012 at 4:21 pm

    This is humiliating.

The TBS announcers were chatting about how Rags and the giants revived Ryan’s career. Looks like the Giants have revived the careers of two more pitchers in Arroyo and Bailey.

  14. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck said, on October 9, 2012 at 4:23 pm

What do we have? One hit in the last 15 innings?

    Woo hoo!

  15. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck said, on October 9, 2012 at 4:24 pm

Wow. The K zone just got 12″ wider.

  16. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck said, on October 9, 2012 at 4:27 pm

    2 hits in 14 innings.

This is no way to run a candy shop, Irene.

Surely you must be joking. Give them all the fucking calls.

    gutsy inning for Ryan

  19. snarkk's avatar snarkk said, on October 9, 2012 at 4:33 pm

Somebody (a Giant) needs to hit a two run dinger, with this ump it will be hard to string things together…

  22. blade3colorado's avatar blade3colorado said, on October 9, 2012 at 4:38 pm

Props to Ryan . . . As the Edster pointed out, gutsy performance, considering how much he was struggling with his command (and the inconsistent fucking home plate umpire).

  23. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck said, on October 9, 2012 at 4:40 pm

A hit! Annnnnnnnnnnnnnd a pop out.

    • snarkk's avatar snarkk said, on October 9, 2012 at 4:44 pm

This Giants hitting in this series reminds of 2008 or 2011 shit.
Looks like they’re grinding the bat handles into sawdust, and a terrible home plate ump doesn’t help…

  24. blade3colorado's avatar blade3colorado said, on October 9, 2012 at 4:42 pm

This hitting progress is similar to watching a tortoise racing toward the finish line – incremental and barely noticeable.

I would normally say that if the Gyros get down, that Pen is going to shut the door.
But, they can’t do any worse against that Pen than they’re doing against Bailey…

  28. snarkk's avatar snarkk said, on October 9, 2012 at 5:07 pm

    Bailey out.
Dat’s good. Now we only have to face the best Pen in the NL…

  31. snarkk's avatar snarkk said, on October 9, 2012 at 5:11 pm

Finally, at least a real playoff game with nervous time. Giants are used to this. They need to take a breath and really start grinding the ABs and if they can’t hit one out or string three hits together, then use speed to steal a run…

  32. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck said, on October 9, 2012 at 5:12 pm

    OK, NOW they have . . .

Hell of a job there by Affeldt. Bochy’s managing for the long haul here.

  33. ewisco's avatar ewisco said, on October 9, 2012 at 5:12 pm

This is the type of game that could really hurt the reds if the g’s can steal it. Their pitcher is having a career start, vogey struggling. G’s get gifty sort of run. Could be killer

  37. blade3colorado's avatar blade3colorado said, on October 9, 2012 at 5:16 pm

Yeah, “he can pitch a little,” but he also does this shit (see below). Giants are obviously catching his inconsistent ass on an upswing. Regardless, Homer fucking Bailey is no excuse for the Giants looking like hapless saps the last 3 games. Giants hitting has gone south in this series.

“Aug. 26 – Homer Bailey was hammered for five earned runs in six innings Sunday in a loss to the Cardinals.
Bailey struck out three and didn’t issue a walk, but the dangerous St. Louis offense pounced all over the few mistakes that he made, netting nine hits before driving him from the game. Bailey will take a 4.24 ERA and 1.39 WHIP into his next scheduled start against the Astros.”

“Aug. 16 – Homer Bailey was blasted in Thursday’s loss to the Mets, surrendering four runs on eight hits in 5 2/3 innings. Bailey tallied six strikeouts and walked three. The Mets broke through with three runs in the fourth inning, courtesy of a solo homer from Ike Davis and a two-run double off the bat of starter Matt Harvey. Jason Bay then added a solo blast in the sixth, chasing Bailey from the game. It’s the fourth straight rough outing for Bailey, who could soon be in danger of losing his spot in the Reds rotation. He’ll attempt to turn things around when he faces the Phillies in Philadelphia on Tuesday.”

“Aug. 5 – Homer Bailey struggled again Sunday, getting touched up for four runs on nine hits and a walk over just 4 2/3 innings in a loss to the Pirates. Bailey was brilliant for a five-start stretch but has now been knocked around each of the last two times out. In theory, he has a good chance to rebound the next time out against the Cubs, but starts against the Padres and Pirates looked good on paper, as well.”

“July 31 – Homer Bailey allowed six runs on nine hits over just 3 2/3 innings in a 7-6 win over the Padres on Tuesday. Bailey was handed a 6-0 lead early on but handed it all back in the fourth inning. Especially given the competition, it’s a terribly disappointing performance for a pitcher that had been red-hot. But, it’s also a reminder that Bailey is still prone to inconsistency.”
