A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

squeeze

Posted in Uncategorized by willedav on October 26, 2012

My old HS b-ball coach, an italian guy who played ball with Curt Flood and Frank Robinson back in the day in Oaktown, had a favorite expression:  “When you got em by the balls, you gotta squeeze.”

This is the squeeze game.  We beat Sanchez or their pen, Tigers are down 3-0 and basically done.  If they can rebound, they’ll be fired up and pointing toward  another Verlander start game 5 monday when (in their dreams) they could go ahead 3-2.  Imo saturday is the pivotal game.  SF had best squeeze the life out of them, now.

Wow . . . Skype is so cool. Enjoyed meeting Wendy and Katie Flav. Equally important, Giants escaped that bases loaded situation . . . Whew!

    • Flavor's avatar Flavor said, on October 27, 2012 at 7:28 pm

Hey, I coulda spenD the rest of the game rapping with you. Wendy is still on cloud nine that you thought she was Kate when she came into the screen. I tried to explain the dark shadows of Skype to her but she’s been fairly bummed lately, so I’m letting her roll with that high. Safe to say she is a big *Blade* fan………

      • blade3colorado's avatar blade3colorado said, on October 27, 2012 at 7:34 pm

Damn, tell her I apologize for getting mixed up on her name (thanks for the edit).

Hey, the bottom line is that despite the darkness, it is readily apparent you have EXCELLENT TASTE IN WOMEN FLAV. More important, both Wendy and Katie were very nice to come over and say hello. I appreciate it. Fantastic that you are able to have a great relationship with your ex. 🙂

      • Flavor's avatar Flavor said, on October 27, 2012 at 7:38 pm

thanks, we do have a decent relationship at this point….But we are not together and haven’t been for years. I put up with the *mom when I want to be one* shit when she wants to play that role. Katie deserves any time she can get from her mom……..

      • blade3colorado's avatar blade3colorado said, on October 27, 2012 at 7:49 pm

Understand completely. My ex and I haven’t spoken for years, but we haven’t needed to, since no children were involved. That being said, when the divorce was final (2000) we remained friendly with each other on the “once in a blue moon” times we have chatted.

Bochy’s creation of Timmy-Super-Sub falls into one of the great post season decisions in the history of ANY GAME…….

    • Fugazi's avatar Fugazi said, on October 27, 2012 at 7:34 pm

The fact that Lincecum would embrace that move and go out there and get the job done each night speaks volumes about his character

      • blade3colorado's avatar blade3colorado said, on October 27, 2012 at 7:36 pm

        Agree with both of you.

      • Flavor's avatar Flavor said, on October 27, 2012 at 7:43 pm

It’s tough to say how much Timmy has to *say* about this super-sub role. But his performance is really the thing that speaks volumes.
And I DO think that he’s latched on to something in the relief role that has allowed him to *let go* a bit and just pitch—no worrying about pitch count or fastball speed….
        He’s just managing this shit……….

I need to say this again: Bochy has created something that has never been seen before. He’s got Timmy rockin’ it and taking over in the 5th-6th inning. it’s like he’s created some sort of reverse pitching rotation. Fuck the 7th and the 8th, he’s bringing his BEST into the 5th or 6th!
Trip out on it, it’s happening and Bruce Bochy is a fuckiing GENIUS….

    • eddacker's avatar eddacker said, on October 27, 2012 at 7:51 pm

Vogy worked his butt off, and got some crucial DP grounders, and taking care of Cabrera with the bags loaded was just huge. Great work.
Timmeh was lights out. They had no chance against him. Crawford booted that grounder, and Timmeh shrugged off that shit and mowed down the next guy like it was nuttin’, just Fuck Yeah!.
And Romo got it done. They don’t know what to do with him. He didn’t have his super duper stuff, but it was plenty good. He might be a tad tired, dunno. But, he’s game, for sure.
Blanco, Pence, Crawfish — way to go. They got it done. 2 was all we got, that’s enough with this pitching going like it’s going…
