There were some cool pics shared on Twitter today from ‘Stick games. Here are some of them:

This one was from some chick who’s dad worked at Candlestick in 1971. This is such an awesome pic on so many levels considering the scoreboard message.

Barry wheelin’ it big time on top of the dugout.

I got a few of these but I lost track of them years ago.

Can’t remember what year they said this pic was taken. I THINK it was ’71.

Brandon Crawford, bummin’ out hard on the possibility of his team moving to Florida…….

I have to admit, I am really digging this replay. It adds an extra element of excitement to the game…It also helps when the calls go in your favor.

I never understood those who complain that the game is too long…Baseball is my escape from reality. So if that means I don’t have to take out the trash or change a diaper for four hours, so fucking be it. Kind of like when I play golf, except I play fast and I despise slow golfers. However, if I finish in 3 and a half hours, that just means more time I can spend at the nineteenth hole.

If people are going to complain that the game is too long with replay, just limit the time you can review it to 60 seconds. If it takes more than a minute to decide, than the play is not conclusive and the call stands.

Our favorite game was to pretend we were Marichal and Cepeda driving to Candlestick Park from Brooklyn, babbling to each other in fake Spanish. I could still have fun doing that today. Stanley’s probably outgrown it.

That pic of Crawdad is proof that some guys are just cool from day one. He looks like he rules the first grade in that pic. He picks the teams, dominates the games, reads the fastest and has to fight the girls off with a stick.
I look at that photo and see a kid who is gonna go to UCLA on a full ride and play SS in the bigs. No doubt about it.
