“We Don’t No Hit You, We Don’t Win.”
It’s probably too long to put on a sign and it doesn’t have the same ring to it, does it?
Leake was lights out and Cueto has shut pretty much everyone down this year. But now we are in a pickle as the possibility of getting swept (again) at home is a real possibility. Alfredo Simon has been surprisingly good this year. Matt Cain has been surprisingly bad. And then “No Hit” Bailey gets to feast on us again tomorrow.
If I’m coming across negatively, it’s because I’m reacting to reality. If our reality changes, I’ll adjust my mood and attitude accordingly…..

Now win the SOB.
Buster rally!
Why remove Crawford for PH Arias? I don’t get that at all…
Only thing I got is Crawfish is a lefty. But Craw’s got a better shot at a fly ball.
But, Craw is nails against LHPs. Total nonsense move by Bochy…
Agreed.
Blooper time
Squeeze?
What’s the longer drought, a hit by Sanchez or a save by Romo?
And, Arias does what he usually does. Nothing. Overfreeking managing by Bochy. Dumbass, ridiculous move, IMO…
Fuck. Up to Duvall.
Hanger. Fuck. All he has is his fastball.
Arfuckghhhh.
Never thought they would even touch this guy, so that’s something. Hope we can hang until the heart (Pence, et. al.) of the line up comes up again.
Did they jus say Hicks in LF and Arias at SS?
Yes.
I just do not understand that PH of Arias for Craw.
Craw has been eating LHPs for lunch this season at .338. Arias is about 1 for the season as a PHer. Weakass dribbler by Arias, at best, was predictable. Bochy has some ‘splainin to do. Now, Craw is out of the game for D purposes, Arias at SS, so the D is weaker. Bochy is in a slump, too…
Especially doesn’t make sense, when you consider that Craw has hit 6 for 22 in his last 7 games (1 for 3 tonight). Not like he is scuffling out there. Essentially, Bochy seems to still believe that this season’s Crawford is last year’s model. Meh.
Well, what’s done is done. Would you rather have Craw or Arias up trying to get a sac fly in that situation? I vote Craw, and I think most Giants fans would vote that, regardless of who’s pitching. I’m perplexed by that move…
I agree Snarkk, I could see maybe, maybe batting Arias for Sanchez, but Craw? I didn’t get that one.
Crawford career 1-for-2, a single and a strikeout, vs. Chapman.
Well, the good news is that Chapman is gassed after tonight (31 pitches), so he won’t be used tomorrow. Ha. On the other hand, that may be a bad thing after what Pence, Pablo and Posey have done against him.
Against most lefties no, but I’m OK using Arias against the rocket launcher.
Arias is hitting .186 this season against LHPs. Craw is at .338 against LHPs.
So, lifetime Arias better be 4 for 5 or some such against Chapman, else I got nothin’ to explain that move…
OK. We gonna move the runner?
There you go.
Tiburon Blanco time.
Wow. Barely had time to type that before he fucked that up.
Blanco blows…
Shit, Fat Bastard II.
Wow. that was just pathetic.
Scoring-wise, Giants just can’t pee a drop…
Does Lopez ever get any righthanders out? So why does Lopez come in to start this inning against 2 RHBs, including Votto, when Machi, a RHP, is in the Pen, ready? WTF?…
Sorry, I thought Votto was batting RH. Right move, he just got beat…
This game, at this hour and on a Saturday night, is really pissing me off. On the plus side, it does add to my hating Selig as the faux Comish.
Hicks in LF? fuck.
Wtf…he’s paid million a year just to get lefties out….spiraling
5 m
Fuck!!! He woulda had the out at 3rd
Oh, fuck me Jesus. Oh well.
Machi for the DP?
This streak of crap play and crap hitting is really starting to tick me off…
The Giants pennant hopes are about as realistic to me as a Cialis commercial.
Murph should throw some Cialis in the clubhouse coffee pot to stiffen up the Giants bats.
A four hour stiffy is just about what they need…
Machi, sweet.
I’m breaking out a finger of Laphroaig now to close this inning down…
Good God. We throw more hanging sliders that any 10 teams
Bulleitt at the ready. Fuck! Another hanging slider.
Football season start September 7th.
Somebody shut those bitches up.
Should have broken out two fingers…
This fuckin’ Cozart has killed ’em all series.
That pitch to Cozart was a duplicate of the first strike. K & K had said after that first pitch, “he won’t see that pitch again.” wrong.
And now we lose the east coast.
freak and frack
This fucker is on Bochy, more than anybody else.
Crawford could have finished the game off, but he puts Arias in to PH?
Now this disaster. G’nite all…

1 game. Bochy sot hwjjjdavijoSRVV;A
i hate baseball.
Well, that does it for me. We were doing well before the Reds scored.
Yeah, Bochy wears this one.
Worst. Homestand. Ever.
Hey, we got the big boys coming up. We are the come from behind never say die team.
“What?”
“well, sure, I’ll shut the door up, you don’t have to be rude.”
and now my Oakland loving sister is on me too.
bleep
Jumbo Diaz? The indignity of the Giants continues non-stop.
Fat Bastard III Go Giants! Anywhere.
Please.
Sanchez still can’t get the runner in from 3rd.
The bright spot is – off day Monday. harumpff
Don’t forget to turn off the porch light and lock the front door.
Back with a bit of scotch left.
What gets me about that bottom 9th other than Arias pinch hitting for Craw, is that with the hitting so challenged, men on 2nd and 3rd nobody out, Bochy does not try a safety squeeze, even a suicide squeeze. If he didn’t think Sanchez could bunt successfully, he could have used Arias there to bunt. Bochy does not try to force the defense to make a play, where a tag would have to be made at home, not just a force play. He refuses to try that type of thing. Even if it didn’t work, and the runner would be tagged out at home, you then have a man on 3rd with one out, where a sac fly by Crawford still wins the game. When you are in free fall, you need to do something different to win…
FUCK!!!!! nuff said
Belt is smoking minor league pitching. Get him up here, stat…
BLEEP………how about just getting one? Glad I’m not paying for this stuff. Stay at home nowadays.
Yeah, tie 1st thing I thought when Bochy brought Arias in after my son asked me the initial ‘why take out Crawfish?” was I thought they’d bring Arias to bunt.
embarrassing
Doesn’t get any easier. Jay Bruce is playing out of his mind, raising his average more then 30 points feasting on Giants, Cubs, and Bluejay pitching:
H R HR RBI SB
6/28 @SF 2/4 0 0 0 0
6/27 @SF 2/4 0 0 2 1
6/26 @SF 3/4 2 0 0 0
6/25 @ChC 2/4 0 0 2 0
6/24 @ChC 1/4 0 0 1 0
6/23 @ChC 1/5 0 0 0 0
6/22 Tor 2/4 1 0 1 0
6/21 Tor 1/3 3 1 1 0
6/20 Tor 2/3 3 1 2 1
Meanwhile, opponents are batting .313 in 48 at-bats against Hudson’s fastball in his last 3 outings. Ugh. Worse, Hudson is on one of my Fantasy League teams . . . Hmm, do I bench him or start him????? 🙂
Snarkk and others voiced my thought going into this blog today. This one’s on Bochy. He doesn’t do adversity well. Not only did he fuck up big time subbing Arias for CrawDaddy. He also burned his most effective reliever, Casilla, coming in for Affeldt to get one out in the 8th.
Mentioned it softly going into the 9th last night: Stated that the inning would be one of nail-biting and finger crossing. Should have added head-shaking and eye-rolling. Romo is toast as a closer. He has become predictable. Had Casilla not been burned on one batter he could have got the call in the 9th and chances are better than fair that he would have earned the save and Cain would have got a much needed W and the team would finally have stopped the bleeding for a night.
Besides Cain’s outstanding performance the other good sign was Panik going two for four and upping his BA above the Mendoza line. This kid could stick. I felt he might not come around until relieved of the burden of playing the accursedly named park which MUST be renamed Willie Mays Field.
Morse has been colder than the proverbial witches tits lately. He needs to sit for two or three games. Colvin and Perez should be able to cover for a spell of that length. And what the hell happened with Machi? Cody Hall and Bret Bochy should get some consideration in case of an “injury” to one of our currently underperforming relievers.
Back to my opening premise: This one’s on Bochy. Sometimes he’s a total bonehead. It’s happened before. He does not deal well with adversity and lacks imagination. Last night he even fucked up on his forte, managing the bullies.
Absolute rubbish.
Adversity?
How soon they forget the brilliance shown in winning two World Championships. One needs to overcome tons of adversity just to make it to the dance, not to mention making shrewd moves. Is he wrong occasionally? Of course. No mgr is perfect.
Just think about being down 0-2 in a five game series and 1-3 in a 7 game series. Tell me again about handling adversity.
I criticize Bochy for lack of creativity. He’s not good at small ball, and pressuring the opposition defense to make a play. He doesn’t like risking “giving up” an out, he’d rather let a dude who’s proven nothing so far this season go on and hit away, when the chance of a bunt attempt to win the game is as probable, if not more probable, than the guy getting a hit or sac fly…
*Panik: nice game. He and the team needed it.
*Pablo: That was a great AB in the ninth
*Romo and Machi: Gave Casilla an early Christmas present. That was close to 3 HRs in the 9th.
*Arias decision: I don’t often question Bochy’s decisions, but this was a doozy of a screw up. As soon as Arias hacked at that first pitch the AB was over.
*Hector: speaking of none chance, Eva Longoria could get him out now
*The Beast: looking very mousy of late- the streak is up to 15 days-no runs, no RBI, no homers.
* Hey- up by 1 in the West, 3 in the WC, Everything is semi-beautiful
Good morning.
